Bought it. Even more legible and beautiful in person! Hate taking it out of the rotation! Also love my COSC Record 40mm on leather with Roman numerals. Both watches are very accurate 👌! Love Longines!
Bought my champagne face model just a month ago, really impressed with it! Fits snugly under a shirt & & feels incredibly light on the wrist & as you say in your review-highley accurate (mine running probably about the same as your demo model) Literally was walking past a watch display in a jewllers shop when it caught my eye, it really is an eye catcher, the pictures on line don't express its real finesse (& as in the review the black dial isn't it's best face) As "btw" it sits beautifully on my less than delicate 7.5 inch wrist, if 8"inch & above the supplied alligator wrist strap would be too small, something for the big boys to think about.
I bought the cream dial model, and absolutely loving it. Mine runs at +2 secs per day which is well within COSC even though it isn't a chronometer plus 5 Yr warranty - that sums up Longines if nothing else. They truly care for their watches and will stand by them after sales ..... I'd be surprised if they don't become a lot more popular as the prestige brands get ever more out of reach to most people. Longines is definitely under-priced at today's prices for what you get.
Yes the brand gives a lot for less! They were under Omega in sales last year. Omega 7.5% swiss watch sales, Longine 5.6% of all swiss watches sold in 2021. So not bad. People are buying them and almost as much as they buy Omega!
@@EscapementWatch They sell far more watches than Omega, in terms of volume, but Omega watches sell for higher prices, which distorts the perception of Longines' overall sales relative to them.
Beautiful timepiece. Longines is definitely a quality brand. I know that many people are very much into the case back. Cool, to each his own. I prefer the manufacturer put that expense into better time keeping and finish. Another hot button for me is power reserve. Who doesn't want 80 hours. Anyway, enjoyed the review.
I am also big Longines fan and own serveral...vintage and modern Longines. What a beautiful watch and definitely on my whishlist. And don’t forget Einstein had a Longines too! Oh and the 19mm bandwidth is perfect for the 38mm case, it’s proportional to 40mm case/ 20mm band, 36mm/18mm band...
"Lohn-J͟e͟a͟n͟"! 😊 The emphasis is slightly on the last syllable! 🙂 We don't have to pronounce it with a French accent though!... nobody wants to be that guy! 🤷♂️ I normally wouldn't say anything, but I watched an upload on the importance of watch reviewers pronouncing the brand name correctly - because all of us guys who watch your reviews to learn stuff will also pronounce the name incorrectly coz we'll follow your lead! I thought that he had a really good point! Great review as normal! Cheers.
I'm terrible at names of non-english origin. But to be fair when I talk to people from Quebec they never prounce the english words spot on either. In my day job I speak to them a least 1-2 a week but I do not correct them over the phone as I find it rude and I understand the words they are saying anyways.
Thanks for posting this. I came from a Watchfinder & Co video where they showed the white dial version. Now to go have a look at the real thing in store!
Great review, I have the crème dial one. With the small second, i'd hoped that they instead put the powermatic 80 movement for this piece, since you cant really tell apart a higher beat movement to a lower beat ones with this ss. Among the Swatch group, Longines is the highest in terms of sale, right after Omega. Unfortunately, I cant exactly recall from which year the report was. Id hope Longines separate themselve from the Swatch group and become once again independant. With their current offering, id gladly buy more pieces from them if they were to become independant.
nah this movement is better then the powermatic 80. the 80 suffers from plastic parts, isochronism effects due to longer power reserve, harder to service outside of swatch and based on the 2824 eta which has reverser gear issues if you wind it up to fast. a delicate fragile movement that i never recommend personally. This is 2892 based higher teir and better in every way movement. One to be proud of.
Hm, never thought of it from the actual techinical standpoint. Im aware of its delicacy and qc longitude when it first introduced to the lower tier of the swatch group, but never really delve into it that much. Ive always thought it's lacking in terms of the power reserve compared to its bretheren. I appriciate the newfound info!
Very nice, the Conquest Calendar is nice as well with the date at 12. I believe longines is very popular in China & actually just about the biggest selling Swatch Group brand. I've look to buy some of their heritage line watches before pre owned, but they don't tend to come up much, I get the impression a lot of people like them, but don't actually buy them.
What’re your thoughts on pairing black dials with black straps? I feel like the cream dial/brown strap is more versatile. But this one definitely takes the cake in terms of class
Hey! I forgot to comment last night ( of course I gave the thumb ( up) Its a good looker. I think my grandfather had a Longines, because believe it or not this was a brand name I had heard of before I was a watch person. But I probably thought they were long out of business. Now we know they are on the rise. Really enjoying the variety of watches you are showing. #AmplitudeCity
oh I just caught this comment. RUclips filtered it to the trash I'm guessing because of the hashtag! try to avoid those and links. Yes your grandfather having one is not surprising. they were considered higher then rolex back in the 50-70s. Great taste!
Longines makes a lovely watch. I've been enamoured of the Longines Heritage Military ref. L2.819.4.93.2 for far too long. This FLAGSHIP HERITAGE is a looker.
Hello, wondering if someone could answer a question. I just bought this watch and I've noticed the movement works in reverse to what the manual says. To set date I have to go counterclockwise (manual says clockwise) and also when setting the time if I go clockwise the time moves backwards...is this normal for this watch? Thanks
@@EscapementWatch thank you for the quick response, do you know why the manual would be wrong? Seems a bit odd that Longines would make a mistake with the instructions
Nice, these. A lot of watch for the money. Not a lot this classy until you reach JLC. Habring2 and Grand Seiko? They're all a lot more money. Totally agree that Longines should be able to compete further up market. Hamstrung by Swatch.
It is RARE these days for a dress watch to have lume. That's actually the FIRST THING on the priority list. It doesn't have to be that bright or extensive. You just want the ability to tell time in the dark even if you have to struggle a bit at it. Whether it's on a plane while they turn off the lights or in your bed when you wake up in the middle of the night and reach for your watch You don't want a watch, any watch, that does not have lume -- irrespective of the price or quality.
Amazing watch with CHEAP ASS pin buckle. Dear Longines you're not low class watchmaker. Your class should be in every detail; even in buckle which should also make a statement.

Yeah. Well said.
I'm sorry I was rude.

Beautiful watch. The 1938 Military Heritage limited edition is just as elegant. Thanks for the awesome video.
Thanks for Watching and input👍
Very nice looking watch. My only criticism is that it's slightly too large in diameter and lug to lug. I have an early 1960s 9ct gold Flagship.

I think it looks classy as you say but I'd like to go with a darker brown with a black dial
Tried one in today a d was blown away with the quality! Amazing piece
Great to hear!
Accuracy is incredible!! Beats Rolex!!
Longines super fan I confess! An ageless timepiece. Heritage lineup is rock solid for me. Ty for the video bro!
Right on!

Still said it wrong. The S is silent in French. Beautiful watch but I’d probably prefer it without the date.
Awsome brand. Nice video, tks for all the details. Btw I would never go for a watch without window date 😉.
Fair enough!
can't decide between the cream or black dial...
Stunning! But crown is too small

Agree. It's only JLC, Grand Seiko and Cartier that compete under a certain price point, and I prefer the Flagship Heritage watches to the Tank Must.
More better looking than the white version
Great review
Thanks!
Torn between this (or the cream dial) vs master collection in white and arabic numerals with date
Beauty of a watch!
Appreciate the support. Thanks for watching. 😁
Can't decide between this and the cream dial variant
cream!
Silver arrow or flagship heritage ?
Silver Arrow
Fantastic looking watch, but thickness and lug-to-lug are just a bit too large for me.
Lmao it’s a 39mm . How small is your wrist
@@Longshore79 A typical dress watch in the '50s and '60s was 34 or 35mm. Have wrist sizes dramatically increased since then? Idiot.
I wanted to love longines, it’s just their lug to lug are always too long
Yup...canine lugs
Beautiful watch but like any longines always get a good discount.

Visibility will become an issue with this watch... sometime, the hands are completely gone in that dial and it's very reflective.
Yeah the white dial is the one I'd go for!
@@EscapementWatch but the black dial is more classy.... difficult choices.
so truuu
