@AyaTheTyga what do you mean? The pan she used can easily fit all the pasta she made. And ofcourse she ate it all. She always finishes her meals. Just the fact that she put the entire bag into her bowl to eat blows my mind, that would imply she looks at 3 servings of stuffed pasta as one serving. Which is incredibly delusional.

    • @AKbaby89
      @AKbaby89 2 месяца назад +30

@polliec8443 serving sizes on stuffed pasta are important. Stuffed pasta is a calorie bomb, eating an entire bag of stuffed pasta is insane and not at all related to marketing. Amberlynn has no clue about serving sizes, she's proven that countless times. Theres also more oil in the pan than she said she added, which would mean she put WAY more than 7.4ml in the pan. I've made that exact pasta several times, and ive never had any oil left over like she does, and the pasta looks oily af, mine never looked oily as hers does. She doesn't understand nutrition or serving sizes.

What she doesn’t seem to understand is that the 600lb life patients she swears up and down she’s “nothing like” are actually scarily similar to her; and they lose 50+ lbs a month eating 1200 calories. If she was eating only 2,000, she would be losing upwards of 30lbs every month but wants us to believe it’s only 5-10. She’s either intentionally lying to us (not surprising) OR she has truly deluded herself and underestimated so much that she thinks she’s really eating that little. It’s scary to watch.

You need to build up muscle mass to get yourself in 1800-2000 calories per day. Especially women for hormone health. If your middle age you need mass amounts of protein and calcium rich foods to maintain bone and muscle. You will never be able to achieve this on 1200-1300 calories.

I'm in my 60s. I come from a generation where there was no good information about diets. After being overfed by an abusive mother, I was put on my first diet by a doctor around the age of 10 that consisted of plain rice (no vegetables, no sauce, just plain rice). Up to this day I feel sick when I just smell rice.
There is so much good advice around now. I love your channel John and all the great suggestions you give. I wish that knowledge was around when I was younger.
I'm 5'2, I've lost 130 lbs so far, want to go a lot further. Walking 10.000 steps each day. Doing interval fasting, only eating at 12 noon and at 6pm. If I work late (which I do once a week) and come home after 10pm, I skip the evening meal and do a 24 hour fast. For the last two years I've basically lived of cucumber salad and vegetable soup.
Menopause was a game changer for me. The hormonal change that comes with it means I now can control my sugar cravings. I never ate a lot, but I could not control my sweet cravings.
Obviously, I know my metabolism is completely messed up. If I go over 1200 calories, I gain weight. 50 years of dieting and ED makes you an expert on all this stuff. My blood work is good, by the way. I am actually so grateful to my body that it has kept going and supported me through all this.

yes! she never eats food, only food stuffs. and it is a binge under a different name. one of the many times she tried WW she blamed her “cheat points” for taking her so far off track that she went off the deep end gorging herself for the next 5 or 6 days. this is no different. she’s had 33 years of cheat days, she doesn’t need any more. for her height, 2000 calories a day is already a cheat; she should be intaking 1000-1200 calories a day, max. let’s not forget that

If she can stick to her stated plan -- 2000 calories on most days and occasional 2500 days -- then all is well. Averaging 2100 per day will get her down healthy-ish weight in the not too distant future.
However, all of my experiences as a recovering addict (alcohol, cannabis & cigarettes) tells me it's effectively impossible for a food addict to stick to such a regime.
All addicts must go through the process of grieving to gain control over their addiction. Whatever the downsides of an active addiction may be, indulging when they know it is unwise gives the addict some payoff, usually emotional. The addict must grieve the loss of that payoff before they can move beyond the active addiction. Backsliding to previous stages of grieving is extremely common for addicts.
The first two stages of grieving are denial and then bargaining. Many addicts die without ever getting beyond the denial stage. I see Amberlynn's mind game of permitting "cheat days" as a form of "bargaining". It NEVER works. Any addict who tells themselves they can safely have some amount of their drug/behaviour of choice -- but no more -- is doomed to fail and already back into the depths of their denial.
I do feel kind of lucky that it is possible for me to completely abstain from all of my drugs of choice. The fact that food addicts must still eat seems to me like one of the most horrific tortures that could be devised to torment someone.

So I need to take that into account when tracking my calories, should I choose to snack one day. If I buy one roll of Oreos, I am going to eat all of them, I am not going to eat a couple and save the rest for later. Half the battle is knowing your faults and weaknesses. I have been hovering around 190lbs for a while, but neither gaining nor losing is also a type of success, especially because my measurements are still shrinking, so what I lose in fat, I gain in muscle.

2:59 it's the opposite for me, I have to be perfect or I'll fall off. I meal prep everything, I eat the same food every day so I know exactly what I'm having. If I didn't do that, if I don't count every calorie I have (within reason of course), I'll get demotivated. If I were to eat more calories than I should, I'll get demotivated. If I have a cheat day I'll think it's fine and then I'll have another cheat day, because if it's fine then it's gotta be fine another time, right? That is why I never have a cheat day, it's why I always make sure my calories are under my limit. And it works for me. I know it probably wouldn't work for everyone, especially the eating the same thing every day (although I have recently started making different meals to have over the month, but I make it in batches so it's the same for a full week) some people might get bored with that, I don't get bored with it (it's healthy food but it is actually delicious, not bland and boring)

Not a single food was homemade, drinks are all pre-made, bottled water is terrible for constant consumption, etc. She uses delivery services for everything so she has more than enough time to put in a few workouts. At her health, even a few 10 minute walks & light weights throughout the day would make such a huge difference in her health. She’d lose weight, feel better, not need the melatonin, and eventually build up to bigger, longer exercises.

She needs to overhaul the way she thinks about food, meaning she needs to eat healthily as in whole, non-processed foods as much as possible. It’s a lifestyle and lifelong commitment to health. Amber of all people should be extra conscious of eating healthy to mitigate years of damage done to her body, some of which aren’t reversible.
By just counting calories but still eating salty, fatty, sugary processed foods, she’ll go back to her usual amount of foods consumed once she loses certain number of pounds.

You guys may know better than I do.
How does she claim the same caloric intake as me, but weigh 3.5X my weight, and maintain 500 lbs?
I THINK that she should be shedding weight, but she is just...hovering at 90 BMI, and she couldn't seem to care less.

dr now would put her on a 1200 calorie a day diet and have her healthy in a year to 18 months. that’s why she doesn’t want to go on the show.

I don't know why but her always saying "by no means" drives me bonkers!

I am learning to eat less frequently and smaller portions and not focus on food anymore. Before that I was obsessed with food and was compulsively eating and thinking about food/calories etc. I am doing this for about 6 months now and yesterday I thought my body would need a bigger portion of food. So I ate a plate (prior to the six months I would eat even two or three plates) with spaghetti, olive oil and minced meat and some chocolate as a dessert. Oh boy I had stomach pain and felt miserable! My body is just not used to eat so much and rich food anymore. I am glad that I tried it, because now I just don't have the will to eat like this anymore. I would never do cheat days as they trigger disorderd eating patterns like you said with the slide :-)
