I think what makes the Aerial Combat feel non-intrusive in this game is how seamlessly these movesets are incorporated into each character. In other action gacha games, each character has a distinct flow to them. It works well to help get from point A to point B. It's not bad by any means, but what makes WuWa feel special is the benefit of having more complex rotations. Even if you do spam your way through, it's hard not to appreciate how much effort was put into making the combat feel cohesive for each character. No one feels the exact same. Even character types like Yinlin/Zhezhi feel vastly different despite fulfilling similar roles. Zhezhi, for example, has pretty wide movement with her kit, but I never felt frustrated when she zips around because her ink blots genuinely can save you in a pinch and her Aerial has a forgiving enough window that if you mess up, you can recover fast. There's a reason we're seeing videos of people going crazy with Zhezhi flying around. It's because it's THAT expansive with her initial moveset. You can surprisingly do a lot. It makes me wonder how Kuro will handle characters in the future as well. I hope we do get more kits like this. Zhezhi is probably one of my favorite characters to pilot next to Changli so far.
Mind you the game is just like only 3 months old at this point, wait till they make more characters and watch them go even crazier with combat designs, we could be looking at DMC levels of crazy air combat and juggles in the future
The old leaked kit of camellya is the one im waiting for. (Yes this info is very old, can be changed/already changed) -mid air attack that can pound the enemy into the ground, bouncing it once again into the air. -skill(can be used midair) pulls the enemy into her, if too big and cant be pulled, pulls her into the enemy -air plunge attack is a multi hit spinning downwards attack
Or they can make more unique gimmick instead, not all character should be the same anyway. I want more diversity of characters just like Sanhua and Aalto tbh. Their design maybe 4 stars but their gimmick surpassed most 5 star characters. I would like to see necromancer that can revive mobs as their pawn or ghost character that can posses other mobs/ pass through the terrain in the future. Just my opinion tho
I agree with the trade off. I played Lingyang against Mourning Thunder and it's the trickiest fight I've had in the game. I get high damage boost with Lingyang's forte but also makes me vulnerable while mid-air. It was exhilarating.
Zhehzi almost have 100% aerial uptime is scaryyyyyyyyy! Then everytime you plunge after 1 teleport, it refills 30 Aflaitus so you can cast it again and when you cast it above it extends more elevation that a boss can't hit you, and what scary is her super long range and hit accuracy even you didn't lock the boss or in longest possible distance her skill will still hit the boss. I just jump grapple and boss is literally hitting the air. 😭 I soloed every Hologram boss with her.
Changli's moveset especially can vary based on the situation cause of move tradoffs. Her air basic atk combo requires less moves if you heavy atk the enemy into the air first therefore its a good option if you don't have any res skill to use. On the other hand, her ground basic atk combo is actually shortened after slamming down on the ground from the air, which you'll probably do during her intro. This means that after using the intro skill and slamming down to the ground you can get a quick true sight stack from her ground basics, and unless you have enough res skill charges to get the last 2 stacks, you can use heavy atk launch to shortened air combo to get the remaining stacks
There's a lot that goes into playing her kit well. You can actually air attack with true sight from the ground by pressing the jump button with true sight active. I think the fastest rotations with her involve doing your first 3 true sights in the air (intro->air->E->air->E->air->Plunge combo->ground->forte) The only mistake you can really make in her kit is using an air attack for her 4th true sight, as you have to plunge into your forte which is a lot slower than the ground version where you can just immediately cast it.
Spenders like me have their money's worth coz the enemy bosses are hard and worth fighting for of those aerial mechanics and not just training dummies waiting to be hit ❤
I am VERY much looking forward to seeing how Zhezhi feels in Illusive Realm. Jinhsi already has been shenanigans, but I feel the resident painter is going to blot out the enemies with as much ease...
I'm so excited to explore aerial combat with Xiangli Yao. ❤ I really enjoyed playing him in the Moonlit Festival's event. I still cannot believe we will get him for free. Thank you, Kuro Games.
Oh yes, this! I got back to genshin and was so impatient cause I couldn't cast skill and burst back-to-back no pause 😭 that split second wait felt SO long
There's no way bro said aerial combat has trade-off when Jinshi can basically launch tactical nukes while being almost impossible to hit by just using the grappling hook 😂
I mean at that point you're taking some of the fun out of the game by doing that 😂 The game personally feels more engaging when there's risk and punishments for my mistakes, so I avoid using the hook on Jinhsi or Zezhi
@@saintontas so I'm taking fun out of the game by using everything it has to offer? If it's more efficient and gives me faster clear times in time limited modes, I'm gonna use it.

You can sometimes mess up if you use the grapple in the wrong time . Since her skill (after entering incarnation and pre ult) would drag you back down if you used your grapple first
All Tower Of Fantasy characters have all complex aerial attacks and combos and underwater combat too that works with Stamina consumption, wuwa aerial attacks for me feels extremely limmited and clunky, compared to tof as they are limmited only to a few chars, and they can barely stay in the air with different times, and methods, some can just jump and stay in the air, while others have to achieve a combo first, and u have to remember how they all work, some automatically makes u plunge after 2 or 1 attack (Zheazhi) , which ik some plp will call it a skill issue but is hard to keep up with and remember, especially as the roaster increases. So it feels extremely confusing and inconvenient. Still enjoy it, but I enjoy Tof more, especially since everyone has areal attacks
Honestly the reason why I like the Arial combat so much is because of Hi3 KEKW I think the reason why I also like wuwa so much is because of the QTE mechanics too
I hope its not just all aerial but add more possibilities. Ex. A gun character but the real weapon is a sniper just like Zhezhi is a rectifier but have a giant brush. @@saintontas You know, I was going to argue. But when I went to look things up to provide backing, I found that you're right. But the reason I was wrong, was cause of the most ridiculous b*llshit.
