That’s what i find funny about speed runs is just what important NPCs think when it happens. Like Margot being beaten in stormveil only to be beaten an hour later by the same naked dude/lady

Many many years ago I used to play Maplestory. The game was a cancerous grind and rng-fest if you wanted to be top-tier. Hours and hours of grinding levels and weapon scrolls that had a 30% chance of working and a 10% chance of destroying your weapon if it fails. Naturally with such investment someone would want to post their damage on YT or forums.

2:20:06 remember when Hard bosses like Orphan or Isshin you could actually consistently dodge every single attack
You can consistently dodge that attack it's just a very tight timing to roll through the first one as she comes down if you're close and can't just sprint away

It wasnt the unrestricted runs that was the problem, it was his inability to beat certain bosses. I remember a time he couldn't get close to getting melania to phase 2 so this doesn't disprove all that happened before. Being bad at something isnt a bad thing if you have the dedication to get better like he has. His persistence is basically a superpower and success is nothing without feeling failure first.

I never even said 1st try about anything so stop making things up to meet this narrative you've created in your head. He couldn't beat many bosses and looked like someone who had never played a souls game in trying to do so. Much like we all have many, many times playing elden ring. I was actually praising his persistence, not being critical or angry.

This game is bloody huge. I haven't even got to the royal capital. This run was a good preview on what's to come
It's said that there are two kinds of geniuses, the “ordinary” and the “magicians.” The ordinary one is someone who anyone could be just as good as, if we really threw ourselves into it for a very, veeery long period of time. You can see that's not somethign you can currently achieve, and that it would not be easy, but it seems achievable.
And then there's the "magicians". They are someone whe excells so much at something, that even if you udnerstand how it was done, you know there's no way you can reach that level. I think this run is an example of the latter.
Whoever said that just didn't want to put in the time to be a "magician" and was too busy being ordinary.

The end of that Placidoiux fight was beautiful. You love to see it 🤣😂 the real soulsborne experience.
This is a 3 hour lecture posing as a speed run. I was literally tasking notes... What a run!
The speed and ease with which this man fucking killed mohg triggers me beyond belief. I killed him sub 10 tries but it was a much harder and longer battle. Ridiculously impressive run though

I had no idea the Serpent Hunter was so good outside of Rykard. Even without the buffs those heavy attacks are super nice. Going to try it out. Edit- What was up with the Radagon fight? The attack before the visceral should've killed him. Wonder if it was because he staggered on it?
i think the game does this on purpose so you can finish the boss with style
literally everyone laughed at me, when I took the serpent hunter outside of the rykard fight, made it my first +10 and finishing the game with it on my first playthrough. I gotta admit though I play souls for the fashion and dont care about stats at all.
It has a fucking S in STR scaling, great range, and a good moveset. It was always a great weapon.
@@RealLockheedMartin I mean, the scaling really doesn't say much. it effectively has no L2, you can't switch the ash of war and it can't be buffed. It is easily outclassed by any other weapon for a regular playthrough, but it looks absolutely fucking dope and for rl1 specifically it has no stats req, giving you the max possible flexibility with talismans.
Thank you for uploading this run, I really love the display of skill needed for this category! I whish you would also upload a commented version with some more input if you do stuff like that.

I noticed the summoning pool statues have that loot shimmer, and I've seen other people have it too, In my playthrough they don't ? Is it an addon or do I need to start a new game for it to work ?
They have the shimmer if you've never interacted with one before (it drops a multiplayer item). If you don't have it, then you've already interacted with at least one and gotten the item before.

The zippy runs are cool but I wanna see some categories where we have lots of fighting and cool strats for bosses 😊

Well atleast we get to hear the boss songs a little bit longer.
So for weapons at RL1, scaling doesn't really matter right? If so you could go for the meteoric ore blade. It's right next to Fort Gael, where you go for Flame Grant Me Strength and the starscourge talisman. Might have to adjust talismans but it can definitely be used at RL1, does way more damage and bleed, you get the benefit of actually having a usable weaponskill. Just food for thought.
Would it stagger like this weapon tho? I thought it was strength related, but it seems has all to do with weapon damage type and weapon level, also charged R2s
@@taXicity actually meteoric blade has a unique r2 for katana’s & charged r2 that does massive poise damage.

Dist you are a literal fucking beast. And here I thought I was good for finishing my first Level 1 run the other day but I spent nearly 15 hours on Malenia and 10 on Radagon/Elden Beast. This is just incredible.

I wonder if Mimic Tear would be a way to beat Malenia faster? Nokron is in the run before travelling to the Haligtree, and looks like the 660 HP cost to summon would be achievable - only 8 HP away when fighting Malenia!
I think summons are not allowed in this run.

I think this is more entertaining to watch personally, my favorite speed runs of distortions were his all boss ds2 runs and this reminds me a bit of thay

@@realname8362 i like the any% runs because they will usually show you game play that you have never seen anyone else do and in many cases didn't even think was possible. also they are usually a lot quicker so there's less of a time investment to enjoy the run. For me personally after I've beaten the game a few times it almost feels tedious watching someone play through the whole thing like this. I don't know what it is, but maybe after spending hundreds of hours running around the map in the game, I become less interested in watching other people run around the map without the zips.
That's not to say what Distortion2 does here isn't impressive, he is definitely among the best. Just that it doesn't have the same level of entertainment for me personally. Although I do respect that other people will have different views and may enjoy this run more than any of the others.

When malenia does that spark attack and you roll into it, you can actually attack her, and she won't hit you with the last quick spark. I beat her with this exact weapon first time I played, and this was my favorite move of her's for this exact reason.
Yea you can interrupt it. If she does the slow followup to that attack you can get a charged r2 which is what I was hoping for. Very rng though
@@distortion2 I thought the spark one was always quick, there's another variation she does, but no yellow spark that's slow. Same thing in 2nd phase, where you dodged the attack like 5 times in a row.
@@hepcecob Hmm maybe you can tell which type of attack it is on the startup? I never really noticed a difference and just hope its the slow one.
@@distortion2 I could be completely wrong, but there are 2 attacks that make the "ching" sound, and the one that starts with a visual spark, I thought always ended with a quick finish...
