Thanks for just convincing me that I was better off fixing rather than driving. I couldn't drive a straight line across a field even when testing for steering problems, let alone keeping it straight for that distance! Thanks Brian very interesting, but match ploughing was never for me, now I know why!
👍
Very informative and interesting video as always 👌 lovely looking land to plough as well 👍👍
Many thanks
Talking about keeping straight, back in the sixties as a boy my dad set me off ploughing on my own for the first time, he set the rig and furrow which was straight, then when l set the next lot up it was straight as a banana much to my disappointment, anyway, dad told me to look at the marker and something behind it to keep straight, and to this day I still use that method👍
That's right, any two points in line will do the job.
Really nice ploughing by all that took part ! Great video again !
Thanks 👍
I've zero knowledge or experience of ploughing but it's fascinating watching the process. Another great vid
Thanks 👍
What a stunner of a TVO Standard Fordson! The best runner I've heard, period! Perhaps I should show my Standard this so he can learn how to do it! 😂 😂 😂
You are very right. It runs like a clock.
@Casterton-Vintage They all have thier temper tantrums though, especially where magnetos and spark plugs are part of the equation!
Very educational video Brian, I always thought ploughing was easy. I’d love to have a go, just need to get a tractor and plough. Looking forward to the next episode. Well done. 🇬🇧🚜👍
Thanks Andrew. Glad you enjoyed it.
A really great watch! Looking forward to part 2!
Just working on Part 2. It will be out at 5pm on Sunday.
Big up to the demonstrators, potentially more pressure than on competition day, but without them, putting themselves out there, and showing how it's done, the art, and a good plough is an art, will be lost
As a non farmer, these indepth detailed experiences are invaluable to explain how these results are so skillfully achieved
Thanks for sharing, and please keep educating the next generation, before more skills are lost to technology
Take care all
Geoff
Well said. Many thanks for your support.
A vert interesting video that bloke on the I H B250 was doing a excellent job. I use to have a I H B250 a excellent tractor. I am a retired Dairy Farmer. Hi from Australia
It's good to hear from Australia. Thanks.
I did and thank-you for giving me your input
An informative video of a very useful training day. 👍
Thanks Adrian. I hope you liked your staring roll.
Thank You For That Most Interesting Video
Glad you enjoyed it.
Hey Brian! I really enjoyed this video - your expalantions made it accessible to someone who has no experience with farming (other than a love of tractors, particularly vintage!). I noticed some short freezes in the video, mostly in the second half/last third and wanted to point it out in case you weren't aware. Thank you for all that you do and the attention to detail you clearly put into your videos.
Thanks for letting me know about the freezing. It appears to be a RUclips render problem. The original is fine. Unfortunately the only way to fix it would be to upload a new copy and that would loose the history.
@@Casterton-Vintage No problem. At least it isn't an issue on your end, even if it means you can't fix it yourself!
Thankyou CV , good content 👍🏻👌
Glad you liked it. Thanks.
Stunning video it looks easy but definitely not. Well done to all taking part 👏
Thanks so much 😊
Another excellent video - I think I will stick to the ploughman's lunch!
Good choice! Thanks.
Great video thank you.
Glad you liked it!
we look forward to your post every week!
Thanks for your support. I'll try to keep them coming.
Not as easy as it seems well done to all the people giving sensible advice I was told turn most of it brown as quickly as possible
Good advice 🤣
i would love to be here. but i dont live in britain and i dont have my own tractor yet, working on that though
Glad you enjoyed the video.
Nice vid! 👍🙏
Thanks 👍
Another interesting video - thank you.
Excuse my ignorance, but please can you explain the difference between the 'classic hydraulic' and the 'vintage mounted' - they look similar to me.
Vintage Mounted = 2 or 3 furrow mounted plough
and tractor to have been in production before 31.12.59.
Classic Mounted = 2 or 3 furrow mounted plough and tractor to have been in production before 31.12.76.
@@Casterton-Vintage Thank you 👍
Curious what engine is in the Fordson at 29.41 ?
i learned about ploughing by a movie from RABEWERK Bad Essen in 1969 when i was 17.
german ploughs a different to yours.
I know Rabewerk very well. I was at the factory some years ago. It's now owned by Besson of France I think?
Bit cold for Richards dog 🙂
I did wonder.
Got my fergie running ..got a plough.had several attempts with no advice only utube channels like casterton to help ..I'm still rubbish I guess I don't have the aptitude patience or a yellow don't run me over coat .
Well, you wont be any good without the coat. 😂 Keep trying. It's all about the detail.
