    someone working in a brush shop told me: the goat hair can be bleached to become almost white color, after doing so,the bristles are thinner softer and whiter, but are harder to grab powder...

    • @FudeKyun
      @FudeKyun  7 лет назад +8

      I'd rather have it white and straight and grab less powder so I don't end up cakey :P lol

    This is such a helpful video. I've been thinking about getting the TF bronzer brush but based on what you said and what your preferences are I'm going to go with J531. I don't like buffing products too hard - I have very sensitive, redness prone skin, and I'd rather have a brush that picks up less and blends better. Thank you! What's your favorite highlighter brush? I haven't found my favorite, and I'm currently using just a random fan brush from IT cosmetics (which is pretty good, but not great)

    • @FudeKyun
      @FudeKyun  6 лет назад +2

      Hi Kasia, thank you for watching and your kind words :) Dense and rougher hair brushes are nice but it really depends on what it's being used for. My favorite highlighter brush is the Hakuhodo J5521. It's perfect if you like a strong highlight. If not, then the salt and pepper B5521 (goat and squirrel) should work better.

    • @halszka1985
      @halszka1985 6 лет назад +2

      The stronger the highlight, the better ;) Thanks! I've been catching up on your videos since yesterday, and my Hakuhodo order keeps growing haha.

      So I have absolutely no willpower and as I'm compiling my order, I'm also considering getting G5537 or G5538 for more subtle highlight or blush. Which one would you recommend? The smaller G5538 or larger G5537 one?

    • @FudeKyun
      @FudeKyun  6 лет назад +2

      Definitely the smaller one. It'll give you a more targeted highlight and blush application.

    I absolutely love rewatching your videos before purchasing fude 💖. I was planning to purchase the J531 before the price increase but came across a post by Fude Japan from late 2021, where it was stated that Hakuhodo doesn't have Saikoho hair. I emailed Hakuhodo to confirm and was told they don't classify their hair as Saikoho or any other grade. Now I am really torn between the Sonia G's Face Pro (Saikoho) and the J521 (newer brushes could be any grade). Please let me know if you have heard about a change in quality in the newer Hakuhodo brushes? Given the reclassification, would you recommend a new Face Pro or J521?
    As always thank you for your amazing & informative videos 🙏🙏

    • @FudeKyun
      @FudeKyun  2 года назад +1

      @Rummy My pleasure! Yes, Hakuhodo stopped categorizing their hair. A lot of companies have stopped doing that over the years. I'm not familiar with Sonia's brush so I can't really give an opinion but Hakuhodo's large face brushes could have had quality changes over time. I'm not sure if I would recommend either if you're afraid of quality change since quality has been declining over the years. I'm loving the Shou Shou Lang and Zuvmor saibikoho hairs and recommend those! A lot of them are as soft as my old Hakuhodo saikoho.
      Edit: I considered Hakuhodo to have the better goat hair compared to Chikuhodo in the past. Someone I spoke with just confirmed that recent Chikuhodo saikoho isn't as soft as Hakuhodo's so you can try the J531 out if you want!

    I have the same issues with TF bronzer brush😏 it applies bronzer too heavily for my liking, with face powder I receive overpowered, caky face. The only usage I found is to apply powder/bronzer on my neck and shoulders👍 Thx to huge head of the brush it's done in seconds

    • @FudeKyun
      @FudeKyun  7 лет назад +3

      Glad it's still useful to you in someway! I didn't have an issue with the loose setting powder being cakey but I really don't like it for bronzer, haha.

      +Fude Kyun hi, I've just recently subscribed to your channel and I was wondering if you have the Tom Ford foundation brush? I'm contemplating on getting the blusher brush but I feel like it may be too big for my face. I have the Hakuhodo G5538 and the S111 and both brushes is just right for my cheek size. Should I get the cheek brush or foundation brush instead? Been wanting to get it Tom Ford but now that you mentioned they'll be discontinued I'm thinking of just biting the bullet already😳

    • @FudeKyun
      @FudeKyun  7 лет назад

      Hi Blu! I haven't tried that brush because it got some mixed/bad reviews. The cheek brush isn't that big, but it can cover a larger surface area than the S111. The foundation brush is the smallest amongst the cheek and bronzer and you can see the size comparisons on Instagram here: instagram.com/p/5jDCVTrg4G/?tagged=tomfordbrush&hl=en
      Hope that helps!

      +Fude Kyun thank you. Is the Tom Ford blush brush a must or should I just invest my money some other fude. I feel like I'm at the brink of a costly impulse buy I may come to regret😰

    • @FudeKyun
      @FudeKyun  7 лет назад +2

      LOL, you're so funny! No, I don't think it's a must. It's the best brush out of all of the ones I've tried from his line, but it's not an everyday blush brush or a brush everyone would like due to the density. It's unique and I don't reach for it a lot because it packs on product like a monster. My everyday brushes are the Chikuhodo Takumi T-4 and Hakuhodo J110!

      Many people say the Hakuhodo J5543 is similar to the TF cheek! There is no exact dupe as the cheek brush shape is unique and extremely dense.

    Hi, which Hakuhodo brush do you recommend for bronzer?

  • @lafemmedunette
    @lafemmedunette 7 лет назад +1

    I can tell by the video the TF bronzer is more yellow, thicker at the base and wavy. I just took out my brush that I haven't used in along time. Hair quality is definitely not the same. :(

    • @FudeKyun
      @FudeKyun  7 лет назад +1

      ;__; hence my disappointment. I love the cheek brush so I was expecting the bronzer brush to have the same quality, but alas, it was not meant to be... I'm really hoping CDJapan will put up some Koyudo brushes with momiji handles soon. I've been DYING to get one lol. I love that print! The last time they had one was August of 2015 ):

      Yes the cs heads with the momiji handles are to die for!!! They've previously sold gs heads with momiji handles but said they haven't sold the cs brushes :\ I guess it only came in a set? I'm so desperate for the handle I'd even buy the gs one even though I'm sick of gs lol!

    I just scored this brush from ebay at a very reasonable price, and I honestly agree with you on the hair. It's still veryyy soft, but this last batch of hair appears to be of lesser quality than my 06 Cheek Brush and Hakuhodo J Series from circa 2014. It's yellower and has more wavy hairs... since saikoho and sokoho come from the same region, maybe they "allowed" some lesser sokoho hairs into the saikoho batch??? I'm still so happy I own it since this kind of shape is my favorite for bronzer.

    • @FudeKyun
      @FudeKyun  4 года назад

      Coco Violet Sorry for the late response. Congrats on the purchase! Glad to hear it's still soft. The cheek brush has super soft hair. I love petting it. Maybe they even put some ototsuho or hakuototsuho in the bronzer brush. We'll never know! I've been using the Rephr 22 for bronzer and have been liking it more than the TF but let's see how long it stays soft for lol.

    In fact, Hakuhodo J5543 is similar to Tom Ford cheek brush. So the question would be what differences would you find between Tom ford cheek brush and Hakuhodo J210 for applying powders?
    Thank you

    • @FudeKyun
      @FudeKyun  7 лет назад

      The J5543 I've seen in the showroom and didn't look that similar to the Tom Ford cheek. It was more squareish with longer hairs and the body was less dense. The TF cheek brush is great for patting light-medium pigmented colors on instead of buffing because it's so dense and can overbuff just like the J210. The J210 I don't find useful for blush at all because it over diffuses color. They are not similar to one another.

I tend to like round brushes and use my fingers for foundation on my dry skin. Can you recommend for me a blush, bronzer and powder brush to use to set my very foundation so as not to ruin my Chikuhodo brushes I have now? Thanks so much! I love your videos ❤💓💕💖💗💙💚💛💜💞💟❣❣❣

      Hi Leslie! Thanks for your kind words. I love my Hakuhodo J104 for setting powder, which you see in this video. I also have a goat powder brush video I'd suggest for you to watch if you haven't already. If you don't mind airier brushes, the Koyomo powder brush is also nice. As for blush, I love the Chikuhodo Takumi T-4 and Hakuhodo J531 for bronzer.

If you'd prefer to buy from one place and not pay for shipping (CDJapan offers free shipping on brush purchases over 12,000 yen), I'd suggest a powder and bronzer brush from CDJapan instead. Tom Ford changed the bronzers brushes to synthetic -they are no longer made with goat -possibly your brush is synthetic? It’s been a long while since they’ve been natural. The cheek and foundation are still natural (goat hair) while supplies last -then they will be discontinued in natural hair 😔I am also a brush collector ☺️

      Marina Abi Rached I bought mine before he switched over to synthetic! He didn't switch over to synthetic until this year and you can see that it's goat hair in the video. I can also tell when it's goat hair versus synthetic by feeling it. The cheek brush is the only one I kept from his natural hair line.

      @@FudeKyun I ordered the TF cheek brush from one of the websites that said 'natural hair' in the description, but when I received it, it was sadly synthetic. They obviously forgot to change the description. Grrr... So I returned it immediately. The filament tries to mimic goat hair in that it is fine, slightly wavy and yellowish-white (looks like some of the Hakuhodo I and i-Series brushes), but the overall result is still not acceptable and the brush is definitely not worth the price point. It's so sad cause I really like the overall design of the TF brushes - the handles are so sleek!

      saki maki Aww that's a bummer! They've switched over for over a year now if I remember correctly. A lot of people say the Hakuhodo J5543 is the "dupe" to the TF cheek but I think otherwise.
