Totally agree here! Hakuhodo is taking over my collection slowly but surely. There are some nice brushes from Sigma that I love but u r not really missing out.
Ur friend and I have had very different experiences with Hakuhodo brushes but I am very weary of second hand stories. I have never had an issue with Hakuhodo's customer services and I have purchased numerous times. And brush care is key. I am not sure how ur friend maintains her brushes so I can't comment on the chipping and shedding.
Omg this takes me back! I miss these brushes and I’m about to get me a few of these goat hair ones. Sonia g seems great but I don’t want the blend this time, all goat or squirrels and goats. Do you still use your hakuhodo brushes??
That sux! I haven't had an issue like I said and haven't heard any complaints....not saying that there aren't any. I really hope that is isolated and not their practice. I hope I never have that issue with them because I love my Hakuhodo brushes.
Amazing review!!! Thank you so much! Do you prefer Hakuhodo brushes or Sonia G? I am trying to decide which to try as my first luxury brush purchase! 💕
I think that they have amazing bristle textures believe it or not softer than the suqqu cheek brush. But I think that some of them are too small and some are just not needed. Example, if you have a crease brush from the collection, then you won't need the smaller one. In terms of cleaning I have had no problems with them shedding when washed but again..it's early days. I think that they're very similar to suqqu but less dense and a much lighter brush handle which in my opinion is great!
Everyone can have a different experience. Like I said in the video some of my favorite brushes are from Sigma but they do shed/bleed/break/smell for me....maybe you received their most recent brushes. I bought Sigma brushes since day 1 until now. There have been some improvements but they are still not high quality - simple. I KNOW that there are worse brushes out there....I did not debate that. Brushes are not a new thing to me so trust me I am fully aware of the gamut of brushes out there.
Hi sweetie could you do a video about all the things I would need for a Mac starter kit including most important brushes? I would really appreciate that thx.
My softest brushes, in order of softness - Koyudo limited edition red squirrel hair cheek brush followed by Hakuhodo S115 (kazastan squirrel hair - flat highlight brush - no longer available). Truly love the performance of the Koyudo red squirrel hair cheek brush... May not be buying the Suqqu cheek brush. But do love your detail explanation for the Hakuhodo J series eye brushes, I will be checking these out at the Singapore Beauty Asia show this coming week. I m simply an incorrigible makeup brush collector...
I think that I'm going to invest in some Hakuhodo brushes especially since they ship internationally. They work out to be a lot cheaper than MAC brushes from where I'm from.
yes my best friend brought these brushes and ive seen them too in person not long ago.they will ask you to return then they examine the brush if they think its your fault, they'll return it back to you and say its your fault.then what your left with? a chipped brush.or even so they don't except returns! they want customers to pay so much and yet no customer service!. at least if i buy brushes from eles where i know there is customer service there.
Thank u so much! I was thinking of getting just a couple of them. So happy for your feedback. I am on the waiting list for the November restock. Hopefully I can grab them before they sell out again. :)
Sorry! I'm happy you put this review up. I have been looking at these brushes for a min but was not to sure. I know for sure I don't want the sigma brushes. Again thanks for the review now off to watch your other videos. Later and stay dry it's rainy out here..
I will have to agree in terms of hakuhodo is one of the best brands! I have a few S series and the J series. They are superior to my mac brushes by far! I never fell into the hype with sigma and glad I never spent a single penny with them.
Loved your review! Have you heard of the itabake brushes from hakuhodo? The itabake is supposed to be even better and softer than the nars ita which I will be on the hunt for when they come out again this month. Any advice on purchasing either of those?
Oh gosh, I am so torn. Do I get Hakuhodo, Chikuhodo, or Suqqu brushes. All I know is that I gave my MAC brushes a pink slip, way too scratchy. When I use the Sigma brushes to apply blush or contour, I can hear the bristles brushing against my skin. IMATS NY was sold out when I checked. Beautylish allows returns within 30days, but only stocks Chikuhodo brushes. Hakuhodo has a 20% restocking fee, any thoughts?
Awesome so informative. Watched 2x I will be at the IMATS next month and will be stopping by to pick up these brushes, thank you! are the brushes the same price at IMATS as they are online?
Thanks for the in depth review! i hate sigma brushes! they shed and bleed and not great at all! WTHECK, their brushes are almost the same price as hakuhodo j series. Sigma (WORSE) vs Hakuhodo (awesome!) All those gurus praise sigma this and that, i think they are just doing it for money! I love the fact that your honest and tell it like it is! I appreciate that! Please do more reviews on your next hakuhodo purchase when you have time. Thanks!
I was looking to buy brushes just for my makeup kit. So many was like Sigma is a great way to build up with. I never used sigma even after all the hype when they first came to youtube, i just never got them. But I don't want to wast my money. I have been looking at Hakuhodo brushes for a few years and there on my wish list. My question to you would be, do they give you a small discount at imats? And 2 are you going to be there this year I want to take a picture with you B-)
I am not sure they give much of a discount at all at IMATS. I don't remember getting any discount when I purchased them at IMATS. Yes I will be there so if you see me for sure say hi! :)
Yes!! Thank you so much for this video, this was highly anticipated. You have large eyes like me, so I wanted to know what you liked and a lot of the brushes you love were already on my list, so that's very cool :)
brushes are not new to me either. i absolutely love brushes and i love collecting them. i just would never buy from this company that has no decent customer service. hakahudo just takes ur money, and when customer has a problem, your stuck with a not so attractive sleek looking brush that you expected. quite disappointing. ive heard quite abit about this company and there service is not upto high standards.
Totally agree here! Hakuhodo is taking over my collection slowly but surely. There are some nice brushes from Sigma that I love but u r not really missing out.
Good choice. They are better quality overall so u can't go wrong. Let me know how u feel about them if u do get them.
I found your video immensely helpful. I'm going to IMATS NYC this Saturday and you have helped me decide what brushes I need. - Laura

I am waiting for them to restock. How do u like them? Compared to other brands....

I love Cozzette as well! The Suqqu cheek is so divine...u will love it. For what it's worth Sigma is okay but not high quality at all. :)

This is one of the most informative review of these brushes I've seen on YT! Thank you!
Watching in 2017. My favorite RUclipsr 👑
Omg you need the Wayne goss brushes in you're life!
Looking to buy Hakuhodo brushes - this was SO helpful! Thank you!!!!

I also LOVE brushes! I wish we had better access to the Asian brush market. They truly make divine brushes in that region.

TINA!!!! Look what video came up in my recommendations! 🥰🥰🥰
Oh wow! That is such a throwback!

My hakuhodo wish list just grew exponentially. Thanks! Lol
Thanks! I did that but the nail polish strips off over time. :(
what camera are you using in this video !!! GREAT QUALITY
Really great review. I really appreciate the wonderful, detailed information. Thank you!

Have u tried Wayne goss brushes or Kevyn Aucoin brushes
Hi! Just a quick question: how did you manage to stick the numbers on the brushes? Thanks.
I use a label maker.
I have ALWAYS had shedding with Sigma....that something that really bothers me
Was looking for hakuhodo vids earlier. Perfect timing!
I am not exactly young....but THANKS for that bright sunshine-y comment. U r quite a prize!
Your makeup is sooooo beautiful!

Oh btw I just received an email from love makeup telling me they're back in stock but I'm in the uk so it might be different for you
This was a very informative video. After a detail review like this they would be crazy not to sponsor you.
Hello :-) Great review. If you put clear polish over the names on your mac brushes, they'll stay forever.xx
Yes!! Thank you so much for this video, this was highly anticipated. You have large eyes like me, so I wanted to know what you liked and a lot of the brushes you love were already on my list, so that's very cool :)
U r welcome!
my blue squirrel hakuhodos does bleed when washed. im surprised. that they need to dye it
Darn. I wonder if they did that for consistency of color? Not a good thing to hear though.
I'm looking into purchasing some hakuhodo brushes and I wanted to know what cleaner/soap do you use to clean and how often?
I use the MAC Brush Cleanser and the BeautyBlender Cleanser (solid and liquid).
Does the beautyblender solid have alcohol in it? does it get the white haired brushes back to being white? how long does it take to dry?
Thank u so much and u r welcome! :)
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR YOUR HONESTLY!!!!
Yes my sigma brushes shed the first time I used mines, no more sigma for me
Amen girl, preach!!! SIGMA BRUSHES SHEDDDDD!
Hahahahaaaa! Consider me The Enabler :)
I can't wait to see them again at IMATS
Where do I order genuine Hakuhoto brushes? I heard there are many websites selling counterfeit Japanese brushes! Thank you 😉
They are sold on the Hakuhodo website.
@@thefancyface Thank you!
Are you going to get any of the Kokutans?
+MiaMcc Not right now. But I am looking into more Japanese brush brands.
Thanks for putting up this
I miss when MAC had good brushes. I have a couple that are 20 years old, but their new brushes are junk.
Thank you for this! I went on my first Hakuhodo haul last night and I’m so excited
YES! Ditto! :)
Do they ever! Geez!
Shorter handles have more control.

Thanks! I wish they would. LOL
Im sold
Don't quote me, but I'm pretty sure Tom Ford brushes are made by another japanese company called Koyudo.
