For most distilleries, 12 years is a sweet spot for me. I could be on the fence with some 15+ years old bottles. I'm am surprised that you picked Knob over Craig myself..... Great video.
Agree on the 12 year, Mike! And Chris, that is the only one I haven’t had from them. The 12 year is my fav of the lineup that I have tried! Unless it’s a SiB! Haha

Nice battle! I haven’t had the EC 18yr it’s about 300.00 in every store around me. I have two bottles of the KC 18yr left and I finished a bottle over this year. My store owner friend sold them to me for 115.00 each and I really like it! For the money KC 12yr is a better buy! Cheers!
Appreciate the video. I have KC18 and think it is very good, although I think the KC15 is better. Saw an EC18 in the wild last week fir $249. Passed on it and now after this video, I made the right decision. At MSRP, might pick it up, because I love EC.
My club did a tasting of KC10 rye, KC12, KC15, and KC18. I’m a bit of a Beam fan but I’ve never liked KC. It was a terrible tasting and everyone in the club agreed it’s the worst one we’ve done. In fact, I think we enjoyed our Benchmark tasting better. I was extremely unimpressed. I did rank the 18 as the best of the class but it wasn’t enjoyable. My bottle will likely sit on the shelf and collect dust. I’m on my 3rd EC18 and will always have one open on my shelf. Guests always love and enjoy it and it’s one that I enjoy as well
This is what I love about bourbon! Everyone has their own palates and preferences. We can disagree on things we like and dislike but in the end it’s about the people you are drinking it with and meeting. Cheers Chris!
I have not tried either one of these, but I have had the regular EC and KC. I do not think I have ever had the pleasure of trying anything near the 18 year age range. I did a blind once of KC9 a KC Single barrel and KC12, and chose the KC9 as the winner. So far my sweet spot seems to fall between 7 and 10 years.

If I could find EC18 under $150 probably. The KC18 I would probably want to try the batch before buying a bottle, I have heard Batch 2 was the best so far. Interested to see what batch 3 this year brings
Do you think that 18 year old bourbon is TOO old? What do you think the "Sweet spot" is?
Of Knob Creek's 100 proof lineup of 9, 12, 15, & 18....the 15 is my favorite and is their sweet spot.

12 for me, after that you have reached the point of diminishing returns in my opinion after 50 years in the bourbon game 🤔 Cheers 🥃 👍😉
Saw my first EC 18 last week here in michigan for $268 🫣😵💫
Hitting it hard to start the week with a showdown of 18 year bourbons! Cheers!
Go hard or go home! Haha cheers JL!
Love the total lightening rankings here. I’m so so on both of the 18 year bottles
Thanks brother! 👊🏽🥃
Definitely enjoyed the KC 18. Can’t wait to get the Batch 3 and blind Batches 1-3
That would be a great blind! Cheers David! I’ve only had batch 1! 🥃👊🏽
Great review
Appreciate it my man!

Oh nice! Thanks for stopping by, Josh! Appreciate the kind works and will do! Hopefully someday we can say hey and have a pour!

Thanks, Nick! Those are nice prices in the KC18! I have only had batch 1, but heard batch 2 is much better. I agree with you on the KC12! Cheers! 🥃👊🏽

I have yet to have a KC15 but I have heard good things! I love the 12! EC18 is Not a bad pickup at $150 but anything more I might pass on

I love the Elijah Craig 18, but have never had the Knob Creek 18. I will have to try it now.
If you get a chance, I would highly recommend! Cheers, Derrick! Thanks for watching, as always!

Good thoughts, Rambler! Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing! Cheers 🥃👊🏽
Love both.... but I would agree with ya.... I wish Elijah had more proof
Cheers brother! 👊🏽🥃
I haven’t anything over 15 year but I wouldn’t trying a pour of each before buying. An idea for a blind review, you could do a battle of bonded.
I hear ya there! Will add a bonded flight to the list! Cheers Johnny!
@@whiskey_weather cheers to you as well!🥃
Great review! As soon as you said peanut note I knew exactly what it was 😂
Hahaha SHE’S OUT!
Cheers brother. 🥃🥃

Amburana blind test
I like your thinking! Cheers! 🥃👊🏽
So do you prefer ryes over wheaters?
Honestly I like them both. I think the mash bourbons are usually more consistent, but wheated bourbons are definitely delish in my opinion.
Your next flight should be to Best Buy to get some Rode or DJI Mics
Noted. Ballin on a budget over here, but once I can afford them the Rode mics are on my list!
Appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment, cheers 🥃
@@whiskey_weather wise choice! Keep up the good work.
Would you buy these again if you came across them again?

my name is elijah craig
Cheers!
@whiskey_weather im not old enough
I don't drink anything over 13 years. Too oaky and overpriced for me.
@@bourbondude12 too each their own! I do think the KC18 is worth a try
