Ace and especially Pearla are so cute and well designed, as par the course for OMG which is why I love it so much, but I really didn't expect much after the slim box dolls released. The new Tweens that have been leaked look pretty cute too, but they're very gimmicky so I might not buy them. They at least have wrist articulation back! I'm just so happy that they're still around and very good in terms of quality and design, and I'm even happier that more people are starting to like them and getting used to the faces.
Even as a doll collector, Star Wars fan, and number one Padme Amidala Stan I COULD NOT justify spending ONE HUNDRED THIRTY DOLL HAIRS on a doll of her. You can buy vintage action figures for less and they'll be less of a headache to clean if you unbox them... I'm disappointed in the price and definitely won't be buying her but the doll does look really nice. Its kind of a shame :/

In regards to the ILY dolls having clones in different skin tones, I have to say I did start expecting this. I don’t really follow the ILY fashion dolls, but as an American Girl collector I am a big fan of the 18 Inch ILY’s. The 18 Inch ILY’s started pulling the “Same outfit different dolls” thing last year with the Olaf and Minnie dolls, and more recently the Mickey Mouse dolls, so it’s no surprise to me that the 11 inches are also experiencing this. The 18 inches also like reusing characters, we’ve had 3 Minnie Mouse dolls, so I would not be surprised if more repeats start showing up! Side note but the new redheaded Stitch doll kinda looks like the 18 Inch Stitch as an adult, which I can’t tell if it’s cute, lazy, or pure coincidence
My guess is there are two dolls inspired by Stitch in particular because there's a new huge wave of Stitch obsession among little girls. My daughter and her besties have bottles and winter hats and school supplies with Stitch on them or Stitch-shaped or somehow Stitchy. A few years ago only Disney nerds like me remembered that movie. (Whoever engineered this Stitch renaissance must be a marketing genius.) So I presume they had to do two with Stitch because Stitch is the new Minnie and brings in money.
I agree that the theme duplicates for the Disney ily dolls is baffling. The only explanation I can come up with is that these are the best-selling characters, so thats why they keep making sets including them.
- I am genuinely amazed they haven't done an Alice or Tinkerbell ILY yet. If they make a Marie I will probably get her no matter what because Marie is my favourite. I do love the new Ariel especially since I think she's the first one that's blonde with brown eyes which is what I am, but I wish she were a different character since they've already done Ariel in both doll and fashion pack form. Others I would like to see include Donald Duck (or Daisy), Megara, and Vanellope, and if they make more fashion packs based on attractions, I hope they consider Tower of Terror - I've been buying a few more OMGs at markdown prices largely because I thought we weren't getting more, but now I neeeed Ace too (not that I won't still probably be playing price chicken)
OMG continues to gag the doll world even if for a moment, that's why I love them sm💕. OMG continues to improve immensely on their designs and they have improved sm since their beginning back in 2019. And I love the BFF series. I love the regular 4-doll release but the two-doll is sm budget-friendly for me an OMG collector. Overall, OMG seems to be cooking based on the leaks we've seen so far and I'm very excited for it

I'm sick of the bad doll drops and lack of product availability. It's a billion dollar company. Do better mattel. And for all those ppl who keep saying " but the dolls are supposed to be limited, " ... we KNOW. Now i dont care. As a 20+ year collector of dolls, I will choose to buy and support other lines. the new omgs are SOOOOOOO good, i was kind of off put by the lol omg faces for a while but recently turned around on them thabks to jams and wildflower, and so i'm super glad that they seem to be continuing as a line, especially with the really good designs too

One of the only barbies I had at my grandma's was the original Padme one and even though I'm not a big fan, I'm happy and nostalgic to see her. We still have the doll 20+ years later, but lost her clothes and hair piece. If this was around $50, I would definitely buy it

As a big Phantom Menace fan I do really love the Padmé doll, but god $130 is insane. There are so many more fun Star Wars collectibles you could get with that money. You can buy a whole ass very cool clone trooper helmet with built in electronics for the same price.
I want the last two so much. Also the Star Wars doll looks nice and on point. The outfit is an upgrade from the movie version. But yeah she’s not worth 130 dollars. The worst thing about Mattel Creations right now is not just price, but announcement windows. There needs to be a larger gap between announcement and release- not everyone has an extra 65 just lying around! Some people need to save up for that sort of thing, including me. It's shameful.

Omg, I had that Padme doll as a kid (yes I'm that old)! I loved her so freaking much, if this new one wasn't so ridiculously expensive I'd be tempted to have her just for nostalgia. Same for the HK doll, she's gorgeous but far beyond my wallet. Sad day lol

The only Skullector I wanted was the Beetlejuice ones, but you hit the nail right on the head there... I am priced out. I could not buy them when they came out and I certainly can't get them now that the price is so high for them. Feels bad. Only thing I can do is try to make myself one I guess... Even then it's not the same.

I stopped buying collector releases. At this point I dont need them. I like the playline dolls because I'm able to actually play with them and restyle them and if something happens they're easily replaceable. I have 2 sets of Skullectors and one I keep in box because it was such a hassle to get them I dont want to mess them up.
Perla will be my next purchase of everything you talked about with Ace following her. I have not been collecting L.O.L except a couple thru thrifting but those two new releases are too hard to resist❤. Mattel evidently thinks they have a very wealthy doll audience. My frustration with Mattel Creations, specifically with their MH releases, is that they have such a problem with resellers using bots to buy up the stock. Dolls sell out almost instantly because of them.
I must confess I had FOMO and bought the Ken doll ... I am sorry I did. The idea of a Ken Kouture line really spoke to me. But I was disappointed in the end. I did not know about the LIcca Chan Hello Kitty and she is a must have for me!
Ace and Perla are going to be my first (and maybe last) LOL OMG dolls. I'm waiting for them to get in the stores though. I got Creature, but that was partially due to the fact I had jury duty that week so I was treating myself because, well, Jury duty. But yeah. I techincally started collecting used monster high G1 dolls over covid and I gave myself rules. Which on some ways is useful as I do have to think and plan, but on the other hand... some of the stuff is getting too expensive just in general. And I don't know what to do. The Disney store put out a GORGEOUS Constance Hatchaway a few months ago and it was 150. I love Connie a lot, but not $150+tax and shipping a lot. (also I wish Licca-chan was easier to get here. Like make a deal with hobby stores or something. And I agree on ILY. I want to get some of them! Sidenote, I think I saw some tinkerbell at the Disney Store in Downtown Disney when I last went several months ago. So some may be just the World of Disney.

Omg, I had that Padme doll as a kid (yes I'm that old)! I loved her so freaking much, if this new one wasn't so ridiculously expensive I'd be tempted to have her just for nostalgia.

The only Skullector I wanted was the Beetlejuice ones, but you hit the nail right on the head there... I am priced out. I could not buy them when they came out and I certainly can't get them now that the price is so high for them. Feels bad. Only thing I can do is try to make myself one I guess... Even then it's not the same.
The last doll I bought off Mattel Creations was Jinafire preorder. They doubled shipping to Australia to $30 after that!! Ive been tempted by a few like Black Lagoon and Lenore but the prices are already so high and once you add $30 it goes over the line for me...I don't love the doll THAT much. Those Barbie outfits would cost over $70 including shipping!
I stopped buying collector releases. At this point I dont need them. I like the playline dolls because I'm able to actually play with them and restyle them and if something happens they're easily replaceable. I have 2 sets of Skullectors and one I keep in box because it was such a hassle to get them I dont want to mess them up.

Perla will be my next purchase of everything you talked about with Ace following her. I have not been collecting L.O.L except a couple thru thrifting but those two new releases are too hard to resist❤. Mattel evidently thinks they have a very wealthy doll audience. It’s gotta be something really special during these times for me to pay what they ask for and unfortunately I’m not seeing it in those dolls. Maybe in person they look better, idk.

My frustration with Mattel Creations, specifically with their MH releases, is that they have such a problem with resellers using bots to buy up the stock. Dolls sell out almost instantly because of them.
I must confess I had FOMO and bought the Ken doll ... I am sorry I did. The idea of a Ken Kouture line really spoke to me. But I was disappointed in the end. I did not know about the LIcca Chan Hello Kitty and she is a must have for me!
Ace and Perla are going to be my first (and maybe last) LOL OMG dolls. I'm waiting for them to get in the stores though. I got Creature, but that was partially due to the fact I had jury duty that week so I was treating myself because, well, Jury duty. But yeah. I techincally started collecting used monster high G1 dolls over covid and I gave myself rules. Which on some ways is useful as I do have to think and plan, but on the other hand... some of the stuff is getting too expensive just in general. And I don't know what to do. The Disney store put out a GORGEOUS Constance Hatchaway a few months ago and it was 150. I love Connie a lot, but not $150+tax and shipping a lot.
(also I wish Licca-chan was easier to get here. Like make a deal with hobby stores or something. And I agree on ILY. I want to get some of them! Sidenote, I think I saw some tinkerbell at the Disney Store in Downtown Disney when I last went several months ago. So some may be just the World of Disney.
Pearla is the first and only OMG doll I think I'm going to actively seek out.
Hot take: I love the Ken Kouture lol I bought it the second it was available and love it. But I’m obsessed with any rooted hair ken and he looks like a young Karl Lagerfeld to me lol hopefully the low interest in this first one doesn’t crash the whole idea.

Ok, so I normally DON'T buy OMG LOL dolls, but those two at the end were so good looking I think I might buy them if I ever see them. I especially love the cat ear one and if I have the extra cash I'd probably pick up her other half too.
I am SO here for the Colour and Create dolls, but I think I'll use real dye as usual.
