One of the most thorough and certainly the most imaginative instrument demos I've seen, in particular the splits at about 14 mins in. Thank you Daniel. Excellent!
Waldorf makes some of the best keyboards in the world. I just took delivery of an Iridium keyboard, and it's incredible! Hans Zimmer has four of them, and also four Quantums, so I'm in good company!
*It's nice to **_FINALLY_** see a well-done demonstration of this instrument* - , though it's nicer to see tangible signs that the STVC Keyboards are _FINALLY_ going to be available for sale. Personally, I've been monitoring the major online musical-instrument retailers for *TWENTY-TWO MONTHS* (since *Jan. of 2018* ), waiting for these keyboards to "arrive". (By-the-way, as I am typing this comment on Nov. 5, 2019 - , no company - including Sweetwater - has any of these STVCs actually "in-stock, and ready for shipment" yet.) ~ For any folks that might be interested in the "saga" of the *UNAVAILABILITY* of these instruments, then please do check-out the "link" at the end of this paragraph - , which is to a video by the uploader "Synthopia", of the STVC being demonstrated at the Feb. of 2018 NAMM show. _THEN_ , scroll down to the last two "comments", both of which are by me (there are only four comments there, in total) - , and especially read my (admitted _long_ ) comment at the very bottom, from June of 2019.: ruclips.net/video/wVM4WYkEylc/видео.html ~ Finally, I was really hoping that this _long_ delay had implied that Waldorf had done a little redesigning of the STVC - , in particular, that they had replaced their inscrutable choice of merely equipping these instruments with a "USB/Power" jack, and redesigned it with with a seperate "DC-In" jack. However, I see from the back-panel depicted at the 2:33 time-counter mark, that they _still_ just have the single combo input. (Yes - , you _could_ use a USB power-adaptor to provide the electricity; but even Korg {who distributes these in the U.S.} doesn't know WHICH MODELS of adaptors would function successfully with the STVCs. (I PHONED Korg and ASKED them that question. They DON'T KNOW.) ~ *Hey Sweetwater !* When you _do_ finally get some of these in-stock, why don't you include as "Sweetwater difference" bonus, some AC-adaptor model that you KNOW will function correctly with these keyboards ? (... which is something that Waldorf _SHOULD HAVE DONE_ in-the-first-place).
Availability probably varies by country, but we're in the USA and received our STVC about two months ago - so they ARE out there. The unit came with multiple USB power adapters, so no matter where you are, you shouldn't have an issue powering it once you get your hands on one. Hope this helps.
@@tonetweak5254 ~ When you say that you "received our STVCs two months ago" - , _WHAT RETAILER_ is it that you are referring to ? ~ Immediately after getting a notification about your comment here, I personally CHECKED the websites of: (1) Sweetwater Sound, (2) Musician's Friend, (3) B & H Photo-Video, (4), Perfect Circuit [Audio], (5) Full Compass [Audio], and even (6) Thomman's (in Germany) - , and on the evening that I am typing this reply on Nov. 30, 2019, *NONE* of those companies are showing the STVCs as "in stock, and ready for shipment". They are ALL just showing that those keyboard can be "pre-ordered". Seriously, WHO exactly is it that has already actually received any of those keyboards ? ~ Finally, do I understand you correctly that Waldorf _DOES_ include with these keyboards an "AC adaptor", which can be plugged into an AC wall-outlet on one end, and on the other end plugged into the "USB/Power" input of the STVCs ? May I request that you please do reply to my questions here.
@@skippertunes : ~ Thank you for the information. I'm especially glad to hear from you that the combination "USB/Power" socket won't be an complicating issue now. However, that circumstance of Australia already receiving some of those keyboards makes me wonder why retailers in the U.S. (which is a huge market) or Germany (which is Waldorf's home country) _haven't_ received any (or at-least, many) of the STVCs yet. Oh well, maybe we'll _FINALLY_ be getting them soon here, too.
Daniel Fisher you´re really a Pink Floyd fan! The chord sequence on the part that starts on 3:30 mark is from Dogs and the other at 4:37 mark is from Celestial Voices. Great sounds and a superb execution!
A little RMI-ish Lamb bit... nice. Was just playing with the Streichfett last week, which I love. Glad to see this is more than just a Streichfett with keys.
Thanks! I hadn’t heard that one before. Great demo by the way! I was wondering if this was going to be a “one trick pony” type of instrument, but you really showcased the synth’s capabilities beyond only being a string machine.
Hi Mike. It started off as an impromptu jam, then the chords started to get a bit Jean-Michel Jarre, and then the whole thing inexplicably drifted into Blue Bossa. Go figure... -_Daniel_
You made me wanting to have it NOW 😜 working on elektronics at places without power supply like caves or so 🧛🏼♀️Powerbank instead of creepy Guitar 😸🤷♀️😘
Its hard to make a choice for a synth with vocoder. I like to make rhythm accents with a sounds with a vocoder, not special hearing my voice. Behringer/Novation/Korg/Roland or this Waldorf and why? Thx for the demo Daniel
Is this the thing Ghost BC put on the back vocals on songs such "Witch Image" and "Dance Macabre"? I'm guessing it's a vocoder with somekind of "strings" sound a little less "square", more like a violin of somethin... am I right? Or I'm guessing completely wrong??
Hi Karsten. I would say yes, if vocoding was an important part of your sound. If you don't use vocoding much you can probably recreate most of the other sounds (unless you needed that exact '70s string sound). Thanks for watching!
apart from the vocoder, what is the string synth can do that another poly with pads can’t? What a prophet 12 or a Novation summit can’t with a good phaser? Actually, I can’t find the classic solina / eminent sound here even if it approach it with phasing.
I'm NOT so sure ?? 🙄🤔 I don't really think you enjoyed playing that 😲🥱...........I'm only joking, that was pure dead brilliant 😅😅😁👍 and a great price too mate 😁👍

another fab demo by Daniel😃

Thank you, Mr. Fisher, for everything you do. That flattop deserves it's own video.

Nice to see someone who knows how to work the instrument for what it’s made for
I'm really glad this opens with something other than 70's cliches!
You got my attention with Dogs, but you won me over with A Saucerful of Secrets
This man is SO good !
6:26 Genesis - The Lamb lies down on Broadway - I wasn't expecting that! 👍👌🤣✌
A more impressive and flexible instrument than it's name suggests, and you did a great job showing it off!
Rick Wright would be proud
Wow. You nailed the Dogs part. Amazing. Been looking for that exact sound for a while. Sounds very Solina like!

Thanks for checking it out, Noah! 🙂
wasn’t expecting The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway randomly thrown in there
2dan4me Daniel loves playing that part
I need to learn that chord progression from 4:58. Gave me chills!

Great demo, very good sounding machine with clever features.
thank you for playing some Pink Floyd and Genesis ,Mr Fisher.......Beautiful sounding synth indeed !!!
This thing sounds amazing. I don't care about the Behringer vs Waldorf thing, the vocoder has a sound of it's own and sounds very lush.
Wow pretty versatile! Sounds great!
you win the internet prize for Floyd :-)
Tried it out at Knobcon - It's fantastic.
Omg Pink Floyed! Yeeessss, I’m quite surprised he knows a saucerful of secrets
Brilliant demo!
Lotta Rick Wright in that machine .
Gotta have it! Oh yeah ... definitely gotta get one for the studio!
When the old guy (I’m old) with the flat top comes in and busts up all the other synth demonstrators on the internet.
You are just having tooo much fun there!! Makes me want to get one, LOL
Would this be good for some oldschool electro style robotic vocoder voice? (Egyptian Lover, Dynamik Bass System etc)
A Saucerful of Secrets ;)
Excellent demo - thank you
@14:51 that lead! sublime! my goodness, it sounds sooooo good, this is a string synth? I've never heard a string synth do that.
Nice demo, sounds awesome; thanks : D
It’s about freaking time, I per ordered over 12 months ago
Can i get a synth singed by Daniel Fisher, my man?
Saucerful!!
Sooo killer and the demo too
Looks slick
What song is he playing around 13:00? sounds so familiar.

good synth for ambient space music
really good review. it's song great but the Waldorf Streichfett is a lot more affordable.

I love waldorf synth sounds, but give me more knobs, please, haha.

Sweetwater lol
Automatic Gainsay did about a 6 part series on this thing
I think you mean he did one on the behringer string machine

😮That is how you sell a synth.
70s sci fi sounds and music .
Was that Mr Crowley in the beginning?
Hi off711. There's no Ozzy in this demo (at least not on purpose), but there might be a few Floyd references. Thanks for watching!
4:57 THAT'S GOTTA BE KANE!!!
I’m willing to bet this took so long to come out because they went back to the drawing board with the vocoder.

No arpeggiator?? That’s a big oversight and a deal breaker for me
Floyd Animals yeah
Such a strange layout for the controllers. Like a mini-keyboard set of controls on a larger keyboard.
I am here because of Thom yorke
