That audiovox tweeter don't look stock, looks like a mod to me. As far as the crossover, all of the minimus 7 as well as the Optimus Pro 7 and the Optimus Pro 77 I have been in have the exact same crossover. That is a 12dB/oct for the tweeter and the woofer running full range. The crossover of the Audiovox is a 6dB/Oct for the tweeter and a 12dB/oct for the woofer. The differences in the crossovers alone likely explains the better sound from the Audiovox.

Best I recall the AudioVox was a copy of the Minimus 7 probably from the same rights holder.
