Just starting out on my CW journey and saw this video. This is INVALUABLE. I love how you told the story about the 90 year old gentleman. I am 67 years old and was wondering if I was too old to take this on. I am going to go thru the IWR course you mentioned and then just start making my way thru the information you have on your website and on your RUclips channel. Thank you so much and 73, Jim
Great info here on learning CW. I am just a couple of months into learning, and Morse Code Ninja is a big help being able to listen and practice while away from the computer or radio.
I found that the best bridge from individual characters to words was through 2-letter state abbreviations. They already had meaning to me as abbreviations and I came to recognize them as a 2-character string with no Farnsworth. Also, they are highly important in contest exchanges like K1USN Slow Speed Test.
Red... missed the live stream to ask but what school would you guys recommend to learn and supplement with Ninja... Long Island or CW Ops or another or none of them? Thanks in advance.
I agree with Kurt, who also replied to your pose, that they are both great and you might try them both. You may gravitate to one more than the other, or may find value in attending both.
It’s amazing that, after 150+ years of Morse code, Kurt is able to produce novel and innovative approaches to learning. Well done! 73, Tom VA2NW.
Thanks for the kind words, Tom. I wish you all the best on your Morse Code journey! 73 de AD0WE dit dit
