Biggest different between Fultz and Simmons was that one lost confidence in himself due to a fear while the other lost confidence in himself because of injuries he couldn’t control.
@@MrOctober44 Except he was still fine after the surgeries. Injuries affect people differently. There was no injury that preceded Simmons downfall. It was a play off series
Fultz was unbelievable in the 22/23 season. As a Magic fan, I can't stress that enough. He was special, and I loved him l to the point I got his jersey shipped out here to NZ. His return match after a season out against the Pacers in 21/22 was a beautiful moment - the entire crowd was there for him. Just so tragic that his injuries yet again got the better of him. Absolutely brilliant video mate - you've really done him justice, and as a diehard Magic fan you've got everything right
@@Erikkef I said his first video about Markelle Fultz. Had no clue he was a magic fan but he stated in the video I’m referring to that he was a sixers fan.
I think Markelle Fultz is still an NBA caliber player. Whether a cabable sixth man or a starter on a lottery team, I believe that he will get signed. If Killian Hayes and Ben Simmons are still receiving legitimate NBA contracts, Markelle should be signed as well. (I know Killian Hayes got waived, but he got serious attention from an NBA team).
@@guillermoportillo7949because they’d have to pay him regardless you would rather have that spot filled then pay him and also having to meet the minimum player requirement nobody else would pick him up at that price so he would never sign again and just keep that money
This is the biggest joke I've seen in a while embiid improves himself every single year, fight and plays through injuries every single year and get fouled about as much as anyone in the league. He is objectively one of the tougher players in the league and miles ahead if fultz in terms of toughness
@@edgarevans9685 By healthy I mean as in knee/shoulder issues being properly treated and managed, not completely gone. That’s why I neglected to praise is 3pt shooting because his TOS will always be a slight problem with his shootinf
Markelle has a lot of heart and determination to still keep going and not give up on his NBA career, unlike Ben Simmons. For that, we should all root for him.
As a magic fan I always liked him as our starting pg. I felt save when he was with the ball, the player that was supposed to lead the game. Yes he had issues especially with injurries but a good Fultz game was always hype. Still hope he will be part of the NBA, would love to see a comeback from him. Of course I don't know him personally but I really wish him some luck at least before his career is finally done for. Seemed always to be a great guy.
I think a more accurate statement is that he still *can* be a good player, but factors out of his control are preventing that from happening on a consistent basis.
he’s 26 with a good handle, good athleticism, and a good build. it’s a long road but crazier stuff has been done. he brings more value than a good amount of role players that ARE on teams, I just think his expectations are screwing him over. if he was the 22nd pick he’d still be in the league.
As one of his biggest fans, it’s so sad to see. I’ve never wanted a player to succeed so bad man. I remember watching your other video about him a few years ago and after 2023, I thought he would defy the odds. If he didn’t get hurt multiple times last year, I truly believe he would have a max contract right now. Instead, I’m praying every single day he just finds himself on an NBA roster. Truly one of the saddest stories in NBA history.
To play Guard at the NBA level you HAVE to shoot 3's. The only way you can make a Roster as a guard that can't shoot is if your a demon on Defense like GPII. TBF, that is what has kept Fultz in the NBA is his near elite level defense. If he loses his athleticism and can't play defense the same way he is cooked. He'll have to play overseas.
sad to see this as an orlando fans, he was definitely a needed puzzle for the team. I think the best for him is to take a year off, get himself together and let his knee heal. He will be still 27 years old and hope he can come back stronger and healthier then he could get a contract. The Magic still needs a PG
When my UW huskies got a #1 ranked guard from Maryland I figured it would be the last of coach romar's career there so I watched every game markelle played that season. It was just so beautiful, long range, mid range, massive dunks, chase down blocks. He was a man amongst boys out there. I thought he would end up actually having the career Brandon Roy was meant to have in the nba but sadly doesn't look like that's gonna happen. Both robbed by the knee in the end
Man i didn't know any of this about his shoulder. I've seen plenty of vids about this kid and all of them painted him as some headcase who was nothin but a bust. This is awful, you weren't lying about his reputation being damaged, cuz i hadn't heard any of this until just now! My heart goes out to him man, what a shitty situation to have to deal with, i wish the best to him
He'd be killer for a rebuilding team like Washington or Detroit. He just needs a place where he can hoop and not worry about expectations. He's still young so he's got plenty of gas left in the tank to make a pitstop on a smaller team to regain some of his confidence.
I was so sad to learn about this and it was because I started playing 2K25 and wanted to trade for Markelle Fultz because I think he would kill it on the Jazz just to find out he was stuck in free agency
A year or two oversea on a leauge with less games could help. If his health is the issue, NBA with so many games and being physically demanding might not be something to jump straight in to.
He’ll comeback, he’s very young and talented nba just wants him to develop a little more from last season, maybe a perfect overseas season then a perfect 2025 nba g league season and I see him back
I wonder if he'll get surgery to remove the TOS? Markelle Fultz reminds me of the Green Power Ranger, explosive ranger but can't do battle because he's losing his powers!😢
He might need to try to learn how to shoot with his offhand. I injured my right hand when I was 14 and by the end of that summer, I was more comfortable shooting with my left. The biggest hump is getting the foot placement right.
There's almost no way he can be a star or even an elite roleplayer with how inconsistent his shooting is. One day he can shoot normally and the other his condition makes him unable to hit the broad side of a barn. It's too much of a gamble for a team to give him a significant contract, especially with the new CBA. He might still find a team that needs a backup guard I guess, maybe on a minimum contract.
Philly getting two number one draft picks for two straight years and both of them ending up the way they are is just so damn unfortunate. I'm still hoping Fultz can bounceback or even get a min contract because its unfair that Simmons is getting paid because atleast Fultz is trying to comeback Simmons looks like he doesn't give a shit about basketball anymore (I know he had back issues but there was already something wrong with Ben even before that he just got way worse thanks to the injury)
