Love this concept of traveling to other countries and testing out gear there, especially Japan as its my fave country. It would be interesting if you visit their electronic stores and try out some stuff that's particular to Japan. I love Yodobashi Camera and Bic Camera stores when looking at electronics.
It’s been my plan for a long time about 8 years to do travel tech videos like this but unfortunately they don’t do well and it’s rather expensive buying flights on top of the tech.
I'm glad to see you got some color fringing as well with the zoom lens. I was seeing it a bit at distance with high amounts of sunlight. Is the jitter and possible frame skipping in the native video taken from this or is it YT messing things up?
Cool - you're the only RUclipsr who recommended the Tokyo Metro Pass tickets which are incredibly good value (most say "just get a Suica IC card")... I'll be using them again when I'm over in July...the video quality looks fine to me, certainly better than my ZTE! There's a great craft beer bar up the escalator at Tokyo station (Hitachino)
I’ll check out that craft beer spot. Yes the 24 hour pass I think is the best option if you plan to visit a lot of spots it works out cheaper. People also say that the metro system is hard to navigate. I don’t think so but yes the map is super confusing. I prefer the London underground map style.

For some that don't know, the direction/lines on the floor in the subway station will tell you where/direction you need to go, aside the top messages flashing at the ceiling. Awesome video Chris. I think the x100 ultra is a great camera phone but I'm really happy that i went with the Oppo find x7 ultra. As good with the stills and wipes the floor with the vivo when it comes to video (seriously the video is overlooked with the oppo, imo its the best video on a phone right now even better than the iPhone!)
Great vlog and some amazing nice pictures taken with a phone! However vivo will need to pay more attention to the video quality. We have seen them do better with the pro so let’s see what the updates can do

Hey, i loved this video! Real time testing is fantastic. However, I must say I'm puzzled: the video quality is .. questionable. From stabilisation to ultra wide.. is your phone updated? There's another youtuber, 2megapixel that does these type of real time videos in spanish and he's videos straight out the Vivo Ultra look fantastic. The stabilisation as well as clarity looks very different to yours.. which one would you recommend for video : vivo x100 pro or the Vivo Ultra??? However, I loved this video and Japan is fab. Big 👍 for this video.

It’s been my plan for about 8 years to make this style of video. But sadly it doesn’t do Well and costs huge a sums of cash if I travel to different locations. Buying phones is cheap compared to travelling costs. This video will make like $29 meanwhile my costs … well rather not think of that. So this is probably it for the real world travel tests

Let me correct you right there... those car models you think can't be found anywhere in the world are as available in Africa as Japan. In fact, Japan's Auto is more common in Africa
Thank you. I was unaware and sometimes you see them in New Zealand but it’s rare as they weren’t intended for outside Japan. Only the used ones are exported out to Africa, NZ etc.
On a teardown I saw the vivo uses 3 mics in total and 2 being studio quality microphone, I wonder why the microphone recording is still so bad, I just hope overall it improves with the updates the video and the audio. Otherwise this phone is genuinely a technological marvel.

Better is an iPhone for vlogging best video quality. While Vivo improved the video from this vlog I did it's still not the best. The cameras for still however are!
Sound quality - OK for me Front camera - I dont use it Rear video - everything good except the horrible stuttering which completely ruin the experiance at 30 fps
I can't really understand why Android companies can't get rid of that jitter while recording video. I mean, all that powerful hardware and still a lot of frames are dropped. Can't be that hard to solve.
My belief is it’s the file system and the way it writes and streams the video. But Oppo seems to have almost fixed this as the Find X7 Ultra is very smooth almost zero judder.
@@Techtablets yeah, it's somehow the first thing I notice while watching the videos recorded by mobile device. The rest (sharpness/details, colors, zoom range...) has almost been perfected, it's time for companies to get rid of jitter.

Another minor thing. When you zoom into Tokyo station, it’s actually quite bright, no problem for most telephotos.

My belief is it’s the file system and the way it writes and streams the video. But Oppo seems to have almost fixed this as the Find X7 Ultra is very smooth almost zero judder.
@@Techtablets yeah, it's somehow the first thing I notice while watching the videos recorded by mobile device. The rest (sharpness/details, colors, zoom range...) has almost been perfected, it's time for companies to get rid of jitter.

New firmware fixed this and no video quality is a lot better than this test.
