25 years ago Russell T. Davies wrote Queer as Folk - something he's mentioned in Dr Who inverviews. He seems to have forgotten how to write Dr Who and instead is giving us Queer as Folk in Space.... something NO-ONE wants....
But what I find odd, is the quiet fella in Queer As Folk was a big Dr Who fan, that character appeared to know a little bit about Who. So, I'm bemused as to why RTD has destroyed the show. That's some mad God like complex isn't it? "I brought it back with great success, so therefore now I can annihilate it" says the thought bubble above Rusty Turd Dil*o's head. He's probably got a fluffy white cat whom he strokes whilst laughing maniacally too.
RTD always co-wrote with established writers, including the first seasons of NuWho, because his writing is horrible. Most of the DW episodes for this year he *did* write by himself. You're seeing the man's unfiltered work now.
RTD has already been an 'Ideas' writer. He would come up with a big idea ('What if Thing did Different Thing?') and then have no real idea how to finish it. example? "What if the Daleks stole the Earth?" and then "Ummm... yeah... just make Donna get super powers and have her press the Defeat Daleks button". His writing in nuWho was tolerable because people told him No and fixed his problems.
I spend 25 years in advertising and I've seen this time and time again. Pandering to an audience that was never there or not invested in your product. It always ends badly. It's the people who end up out of a job I feel sorry for.....
I'm gay and I still think this is shit. It isn't pandering to us, it's what RTD thinks we *should* like. It wouldn't surprise me if the finale has a gay statutory rape scene in with a 15 year old boy like QAF did, something he keeps very quiet about these days for fear US audiences catch on to what a sleaze he is.
@@rogershore3128 While the big brains who pushed for it likely just move onto a whole different product platform and continue to repeat the same moves.
He's the owner of the production company, Bad Wolf, that is producing the show. The BBC gave him complete creative control in order to get him to agree to come back in a desperate attempt to revive the show. He *can't* be fired. Most that can happen is Disney not renew.
@@mayotango1317 Ha Ha ! I thought Chibnal was bad but quite frankly, I would swap him back in a heartbeat. Much better than the gay crap & no story line.
I think the problem is twofold; wokeness fatigue and just general _Doctor Who_ fatigue - it needed a rest since Capaldi (who was otherwise an excellent Doctor).
No, this doesn't deserve to be called Doctor Who. This just ISN'T Doctor Who. It's transformed into something unrecognisable and the writers have become so out of touch with it's once true fans. It's writing for political messaging and it just isn't working. When will they learn? This is why I no longer pay my TV licence.
Seems appropriate with the new series numbering to switch it up to Doctor Who? because this most certainly isn't the Timelord we all knew in any way shape or form.
That just proves what a bubble these people live in. Do they honestly think outside their metropolitan gay circle ordinary people live the same way? Most people think homosexuals are perverts.
It's a bit like watching a train wreck. People show up to see how bad it is; some show up to report on it, but if you ask anyone, "Hey, would you like to ride that train?" they all say, "No thank you."
I will disagree with that statement, It was an awesome program to watch, well up to when the female doctor appeared, But yes the last few years have killed this once awesome program. It was the longest running show on tv that I know of.
I will, I've been a fan of the show since I was a kid and caught the tail-end of the Classic series. It's a part of British pop culture, or *was*. That it's been killed off like this and in such a disrespectful way does sadden me a little.
This season has the worst ratings in Dr Who history. A history that stretched back to 1963. SheWho almost got cancelled and it had better ratings than this.
The only thing that kept the Whittaker series going was the 5 year deal the BBC had with China. They recorded two seasons of the shitty show in one go because that's how Disney operate it's only Disney keeping the show alive .
Just look at Gatwa and Rusty when they're doing an interview together. By their body language, they're very obviously a couple. Rusty made his boyfriend the "Doctor."
Dr. Who got cancelled by the bbc in 1989 and did not come back until 2005. The idiots running the show would rather see it cancelled again rather than giving Dr. Poof the boot. A black Dr. Who could have worked out very well if he was an ass kicker like Sisko from DS9 or Samuel L Jackson.
That kind of black Doctor Who would be too masculine to pair with a white female companion. BBC is not that woke. The only way they'll pair a black Doctor Who with a white female companion is if both of them are gay.
I can see if, if the gay doctor was written with a actual spine then I guess the backlash would not as bad. A Gay black man that does not take any shit would be more interesting then a man child dressing up a man, acting like a woman.
At this point *I* would rather see it cancelled... Not only has the BBC been destroying it since at least Capaldi, but now Disney is involved - and name one franchise Disney is not actively destroying?
Doctor who died years ago.. this current season is just them puppeteering the dessicated, rotten corpse in front of us whilst shouting "see! look! this is still the thing you love! you better like it or you're a bigot!"
The Acoshite: worst “Star Wars show ever. Dr Who [cares?] 2024: worst ever. Velma: worst Scoobie-do ever. Seth Rogens Ninja Turtles: worst TMNT ever. Netflix Witcher 3-4, worst Witcher adaptation ever… there is a trend somewhere in here, isn’t it?
Yes - the bullies from middle school are now in charge of the things that the geeks back in middle school liked. Difference is, the bullies haven't grown up. They don't realize that, if they lose their geek customers, they'll have to go out and get REAL jobs in the private sector rather than making millions for playacting on camera or making up stories.
John, this is a travesty. Someone recently said the show has been culturally appropriated, and I couldn't agree more. Whatever this is, it isn't Doctor Who, and the character has been betrayed by someone trusted to give them new life.
@@AlexPatterson-co4gh Agreed. I wish EVERYONE would stop hate watching this dreck. All we're doing is encouraging more of this bullshit! The metrics don't care if you're watching the show to mock it - just that you're watching.
Now, stay tuned for next week's brand-new series, "Grass Touching." Heralded as one of the greatest original series of all time. It serves as the sequel to "Go Touch Grass." It holds a score of 98% on RT for artistic direction, with 2% complaining that there isn't enough DEI in the grass. With the brand new sequel, we can assure you that some of the grass has not been watered correctly and comes in a more variety of colors, including a few flowers to go along. "Grass Touching," it's nice.
In view of Gatwa's Scottish connection, perhaps it's time for the show to change it's name from Dr Who to Bufty the Franchise Slayer. If you don't know what the Scottish word Bufty or Bufftie means then look it up on Google though its meaning should be obvious to everyone.
The sad thing is, I don't think too many people would have cared if it was done in a nuanced way instead of being the defining trait of the character. You have Arcane, Oz, Sons of Anarchy(Walton Goggins' character,) The Walking Dead(Tara, Aaron, etc,) and JACK HARKNESS from their own damn show that all handle LGBT characters in a realistic way, and nobody gave a shit, because it didn't feel like ham-fisted pandering.
Thanks for another good video. Two quick observations: 1. Never noticed before I saw that image in your video but Ncuti has PAINTED FINGERNAILS! Geesh that's creepy! 2. Did you notice "Rogue" is YET ANOTHER episode where the Doctor doesn't save anyone? He is STILL YET to save anyone! Rogue did the saving while the Doctor cried. In Dot and Bubble, no one was saved, in 73 Yards, Doctor wasn't even in it and the villain of the episode won, in Boom, the Christian man saves the day while the Doctor cried. In Devil's Chord, the Beatles save the day, and in Space Babies, I think it was Ruby or something saved the day. Only time Ncuti saved anyone was when he saved a baby by blowing up the airship it was on!
There's no getting away from it, the writing is just appallingly bad and the casting and actor isn't great either. Of course they'll never come out and admit that, but they don't need to, it's readily apparent to anyone who has seen it, and that's why it is doomed to failure.
Pandering is a choice. It would be simple to create a show that's just a good rousing adventure aimed at the broadest possible audience. 60 years of show history shows the way. (Well, 54 years, anyway.) But deliberately aiming the show at a tiny (albeit loud and annoying) demographic causes the majority of the audience to leave. Anyone surprised?
Somethings just occurred to me. They blamed the little heatwave we had 4 weeks ago for the low viewing figures. However the weather's got colder & darker each week since then (because we are now well into the British Summer). So why aren't people watching it now, eh?
WHY CAN'T THEY JUST FIRE THAT G DUDE AND REGENERATE TO SOMEBODY THAT EVERYBODY LOVES, AND FIRE THAT RTD " WHO " CARES HES BEEN IN THE FRANCHISE FOR YEARS, HE'S KILLING THE SHOW WITH HIS DIRECTION HES TAKING IT IN, YOU SEE THE DAMAGE IN THE RATINGS THATS WHY THEIR BEING HID
My stepson is 29 my eldest daughter is 29 and my youngest daughter is 26, all within the demographic RTD wants watching, none are interested My wife a lifelong fan won’t watch rogue and has been very underwhelmed by the series! This has been my show since I was 6/7 and am now 52 and it’s a struggle This isn’t the doctor, the stories are horrible, the acting, particularly the lead is awful I’m watching the final two as they look remotely sci-fi but after that I think I’m out until the proper doctor and a decent writer returns RTD saved who in 2005 and looks to have killed it in 2025…only cos they filmed the series already
Tragic .. now they know the pain and disappointment of being screwed. You won't be missed. This could have been avoided if they'd done their job and tried to make great Doctor Who, but no, they're rude, delusional, insult the viewers, and wiped their ass on a show beloved around the world.
You may have noticed that this is a split. When the toymaker zapped the doctor both he and the tardis split. The real doctor is having tea on the lawn with Donna and his own tardis. When this new version fails, they can go back to him and reboot the reboot.
I'm a former huge fan, at 69 I've been watching for almost 50 years. I did quit watching when Capaldi split. Credit to you for sitting through this garbage and letting us know what'sgoing on. RTD built a fatal flaw into the show when he introduced the romantic relationship between 10 and Rose. The Doctor is not supposed to have anymore than an affection for his companions, not fullblown love. But now Davies upped the ante by going for lust at first sight. I could tolerate Capt. Jack's innuendo and wisecracks, but I'm glad I quit when I did. I was sad when I found out the BBC had canceled McCoy's Doctor in '89, Now I would consider it a blessing if the show would be cancelled.
You got it! Captain Jack was FINE acting as a flirty, playful scoundrel type... because he WASN'T THE DOCTOR! He was Captain Jack! Hell, even HE got more serious and focused on things outside of his pants in Torchwood. Well, sometimes.....
@daveannarino7892, so true. Just watch how 3rd, 4th & 7th doctors were with their companions, especially 3 & Jo, 4 & Sarah Jane and 7 & Ace. All close with some great acting but no romance! SJS's leaving scene is so understated but emotional.
Don't forget lows in it's *acting*. I'd never seen Gatwa in anything before this, and people were telling me he was a force of nature. He''s awful. The man is incapable of doing subtle, and is either camp as a row of tents or bawling his eyes out. But then Indira Varma (The Duchess in Rogue) is a very, VERY good actor, and even she was shit in this. Maybe it's the direction?
I've been picking up the classic series on Blu-ray and just got Peter Davison - Season 2. It's so wonderful and it just makes it so sad we got activists infesting all our favorite shows. There's nothing much left for them to destroy and its all probably too late to save any of them.
@@JohnSmith-ux3tt the only Doctor who never had an overnight viewings figure below 5 million for an episode was Peter Davison. If Tom hadn't done his 7th season he would have had the same record for twice the seasons. Even Pertwee had 1 sub 5 million. For the record Peter's worst performance was 5.6 million for part 4 of Frontios. And Ncuti gets straight 2 millions........
I only buy used copies on eBay, I refuse to give the BBC money after what they have done to this show - if it means regular DVD quality I'm fine with that (heck, I still have much of DW recorded on air on VHS tapes).
I have a signed Tom Baker picture, I used to love doctor who. I stopped being interested halfway through matt smith, and stopped watching after matt smith era ended. I guess there are some "nearly erased" eras from the past as well, but it is kinda sad that the show is going through such a period as it is now.
I watched some of Capaldi, but the writing was going downhill fast with increasing injections of woke ideology. Just watched clips/reviews of his last season really, it was thoroughly demoralizing to see Doctor Who end like that (and yes, I mean end - as far as I'm concerned Capaldi was the last gasp of the Doctor, who was replaced by a bad imitation after). I started watching DW in the 1970s with Pertwee.
And Anne McCaffrey included gay characters. Homosexuality is a completely accepted part of life in the weyrs. And that's how she treated it. I think I was on my 3rd read through when I noticed it because it was just part of their culture. Didn't beat anyone on the head with it. Just treated them like everyone else. Isn't that what LGBTQ wants? To be included? RTD needs to take notes.
@@natalieciolek2531 The entire world (and I mean the entire world) is growing weary (and sick) of the LGBTQ+ obsession with sexual preference. There is more to life than sexual preference! SO PLEASE GET A LIFE!!!
The 28 day figures do not grow by that much. I have access to the 28 day figures for all the episodes of the reboot era, except this new seasons ones. The 28 day figure only grows by something like 0.25 to 1.25 million. Here's some context for you. RTD claims that Space Babies is up to 5.6 million after 28 days. Well, episode 1 of Flux was at 6.36 million after 28 days and episode 2 of Flux was up to 5.65 million after 28 days. Nobody says that Flux was a success do they lol?
The classic show was very popular with gay people. They didn't care that there were no obviously gay characters in it. In most cases, there wasn't any indication of sexuality. And it didn't matter to gay fans. Maybe they simply liked watching a character who wasn't constantly trying to bed every female in the show. Cough Kirk cough. They were not fantasising that he was gay, just that here was a show absolutely devoid of romances. Apart from a surprisingly low proportion of companion exits. (The majority of companions simply went or found a home). A lot of classic fans, gay, straight or oblivious, disliked the sexualisation of the show in 2005. Right from the Doctor teasing Rose that Adam was "a bit pretty", and Captain Jack's rampant libido being portrayed as the future of humanity. Looking back, it's easy to see what RTD always intended to do to the show.
"Looking back, it's easy to see what RTD always intended to do to the show." Yes, RTD always wanted to turn DW into Queer As Folk in Space. I think he would have turned Sarah Jane Adventures gay if it had continued.
@Benjiesbeenbetter, I agree. Every male Doctor Who fan I know had a crush on Elisabeth Sladen. Even Tom Baker seemed to have feelings for her beyond that of a friend, but never acted on them.
RTD purposely set out to write his version of DR Who , that was designed to alienate the vast core of its fanbase, in order to appeal to a new GenZ audience, making his scripts - and those he approved - reflect the world as he sees it from his personal bubble. His stars , have then told the old fan base that the are not needed and bragged that the new "woke" fans would replace them 5 to 1. Guess what, they got what they deserved, an abject failure of a show that despite the desperate schilling of critics and some on YT, is a flop by any reasonable modern measure. Sadly , they have killed the Doctor more effectively than any plot of the Master, but of course it is not their fault but yours, the fans that they told to not watch
Oh dear, how sad, never mind... RTD has killed what he resurrected because he hired a mouthpiece for his ideological beliefs rather than a good character actor to play the Doctor. He also perhaps most importantly ignored the fact the overwhelming majority of the Dr Who viewers he was writing for were not the ideologically gay audience who watch his usual output. Now I'm a sixty-year-old lifelong Dr Who fan, (you know the type Dalek on the bookshelf, a stack of Terrance Dick Target novelisations from the 1970s and too many classic episode DVDs) and I'm wondering in the light of this disaster of gay propaganda series if we'll even see season 'two' broadcast on BBC1! The BBC might like the Disney dollars but there is no way they'll want an unpopular show on Saturday primetime, especially if the live viewership continues to decline they may choose to cancel this experiment and write the lot off as a bad idea and shove it straight to iPlayer and BBC3.
Unlike when Dr Who was cancelled in 1989 there will NOT be a formidable force of die hard fans campaigning to get the show back on screen when the show is cancelled this time. Quite sad how NuWho has slowly been strangled to death; first by Moffats poor character focus and convoluted self indulgent plot lines; then by the gradually creeping woke elements; then by Chibnalls utterly soulless proselytising version of the show; and finally by RTDs inability to write for anyone but himself and his desires. If I were to pinpoint the main killer it would be showrunner self indulgence.
Agreed. Although I have to point out in the RTD interview although he did admit rating were not as good as he hoped he also went on to say the 28 day viewing figures were in his view great at over 5.6 million and the BBC were running around delighted. But amazing how a few of years ago it was all about judging it on the 7 day figures. Now RTD says no no judge it on the 28 days figures. Yep moving the goalposts.
This rainbow agenda in shows at the expense of storytelling and the true fans is what's ruining good shows, storytelling and franchises. Pandering to 0.00001% of the population is not a good thing and terrible writing.
It's worth reminding people that Doctor Who doesn't need Disney. The show was around a loooooooooong time before Disney + was launched in late 2019. If Disney do pull the plug on DW due to very low streaming figures, the show can continue funding via the UK licence fee. I think the BBC would be under pressure to cancel/put the show on hold if the 2025 season ratings are poor however I can image a reboot in the 2030s. By the way, Dot And Bubble (ep 5) *is the lowest watched Doctor Who episode of all time.* It's consolidated figures lower than the previous all time lowest viewed episode Battlefield in 1989.
I agree that the story telling has weakened considerably. The focus on diversity has distracted from the science fiction elements almost becoming some sort of tick list process rather than being something more organic. The Doctor crying, becoming a fashion victim and Maestro ending as a musical is destroying the integrity of the character. I am not against change and modernisation but it's the speed, lack of care and extent of change that just trash the show.
I'm fine with the idea of the Doctor being gay and Black, just as long as the show is good. I thought More Whitaker was a good actress, but they turned her into a buffoon as the Doctor, and watching those episodes just made me feel like was being lectured.
Totally agree with the mass of comments. As a Doctor Who fan since its start they’ve slowly strangled the life out of the series. The sad part is that the actors in place of the doctor and his assistant could have been so good but the scripting and character development has killed the show!
Remove the Tardis and intro/outro music and nothing remains that is Dr Who.... RIP Dr Who: 1963-2017 Gone but not forgotten. Much loved by an adoring fan base.
Well, i havent watched any episodes with Judy, cuz people told, that it was problematic. But now i see, that it was kinda dissent. And watching what is doing on in each episode, it feels horrible. I am so much a fan, but i was at the cinema when it was 10+11+12 doctor, but it feels like shitting on old fans. Basically what is going on with Star wars
I view myself as progressive, but I feel increasing alarm regarding the shows pushing of the Doctor’s sexuality to the forefront. Whether that sexuality is straight, gay or bi-sexual. The series has always been progressive in nature, going back to its beginning. I view inclusion as good, and the show has done a great job with that regarding ethnicity of characters, for example. However, I don’t like the Doctor’s sexuality being so aggressively pushed forward with characters the Doctor has just met. The Doctor, historically, has always been mostly asexual, and rarely in an active romance. The very few times that may happen should be with a long established companion, or multi-episode character, such as were Rose Tyler, and River Song. The current Doctor is presented neither as asexual, nor even as romantic with an established character, but as outright promiscuous. This is wrong, and a different thing from the Doctor’s gender appearance, which should be free to be male, female or indeterminate.
I personally think the poor ratings is partially due to alienating a majority of their fan base, but also because it's only viewable on Disney plus, and not many people have access to disney plus or even know that the series is even out on disney plus.
I note the apologists are bringing in the "special" figures in an attempt to push up the average viewer score for the season. It really is pathetic at this stage. 7+ day figures do not completely indicate additional viewers, what is the figure for repeat viewers.
It should be canceled but disney will not admit that another woke product has failed so it will drag on till the end of it's original negotiated season episodes and then Amazon will purchase it and double down on it like they did with rings of wokeness.
Russell T Davies said that if they didn't have Disney money and had to make Dr. Who on a BBC budget, they'd have to make claustrophobic ghost stories, and you know what I thought? Would that be so bad? Atmospheric stories with some real suspense vs drag queens and space babies. I know which one I'd rather watch.
Im kinda mad they already worked on the second season and didn’t stop it at the first season. To start over to fix their mistakes and write something actually good. They still have the gay black character who definitely isn’t the Doctor!
I thoroughly enjoyed Queer as Folk 25 years ago, which was the time such material was relevant. This latest series murdered Dr. Who with Space babies, Snot monsters and Fart power. Every episode since has been about abusing the corpse. The Dr cowering in a basement because Widow Twanky climbed out of a piano was ludicrous. The remaining episodes with Colander stories, zero character development and Shitty Gaywa presenting as a 1980s stereotypical gay man running around screeching like a 12 year old girl, have been beyond insulting to gay men all over the world. 🤬 As for the last episode, "Rogue", it was the worst written piece of television entertainment I have seen in decades. It revealed the appallingly wooden acting of Gaywa, and the utter lack of character consistency. The Dr. places his companion in mortal danger because he makes a mistake, gives up immediately from trying to save her, he has a Markle moment "one tear, left eye... go", then she barely finishes her self sacrificing moment and he is tonsil testing her apparent replacement. I don't know what this is, but is sure as hell is NOT Dr. Who 🤬
🤔 James Bond is White, 🇬🇧 & though to be of celtic origin meaning 🏴 & hits 70 this year arguably one of the most recognisable White global popular culture figures, you’ve got to ask yourself why are black actors been continually touted for the role if the roles were reversed & the character was black & thus far only black actors had played 007 can you imagine the woke media 💩 storm if someone suggested a white actor for the role 😮 I fear James Bond will be the next IP killed off when the man with the golden gun couldn’t get the job done 🙄
Sadly The Acolyte has gone the same way by creating its own Timeless Children and as for this series 2 has been made sadly of more of the same but was encouraging is that series 3 has not been made and it looks like RTD and his team will be dropped by Disney in 2025
I had actually heard a few weeks ago that Disney was pushing in the direction to get Russell T Davies out at showrunner because the ratings were so horrible since they are funding it right now.
RTD is too smug, he just wont admit that its not what the viewers want. The viewing figures shows that its crap. Great special effects but let down by terrible story lines. Runied one of my favourite sci fi series. I'm ashamed to wear my doctor who t-shirts anymore.
The show isn't the problem, the woke agenda being rammed into the show and the show runners pandering to this agenda is what is killing the show. But the BBC would rather blame the show and the fans when the fact that nobody is watching proves that they need to drop the woke and go back to what made this show massively popular. The gender for or sexuality of the characters never was never a problem before because we were getting high-quality performance and writing. Now it's just a silly gender parade.
Suspicious isn't it ? All the other post 2005 are three and out, and once that contract has been signed they have to pay them even if the show isn't made. Chibnall's Who could be dull and preachy, but RTD2 is poor on every level and down right offensive, it wont last past 2 series.
@@captainz9 When we all hear about contracts like this then we should all use this as the bare minimum when negotiating. Of course, companies generally go for the cheapest possible option. This case still screams that something shady is going on behind the scenes.
I've been a Doctor Who fan since I discovered it in 1987ish on PBS (old VHF channel) as a preteen. The 4th Doctor has always been my favorite. Ive seen everything available from 1963 until the 60th anniversary specials. I was excited to see Tennant nack, but when the rumors of pronoun garbage abounded, I decided to wait. I listen to reviews of the show now, but nothing I've heard makes me want to care. I loved Capaldi as the Doctor (though the writing was very uneven at best and disliked his companions). I hated Whitaker's run. Flux was the first it felt like Doctor Who, even though it was only meh, overall. My 9 year old loves the 13th. We as a family will not support this current RTD2 era. Honestly, Tennant and RTD have made me dislike the rest of NuWho... My daughter and I used to go back and watch the 9th-13th together, but neither of us cares much anymore because of everything they've done. We're done, at least until they retcon the 14th and 15th Doctors. I hate the Timeless Child, but I can see keeping it as some mind game the Master and the Toymaker came up with to mess with The Doctor. We can thus keep those episodes and discard all the other garbage as mindgames. That will never happen, but it's how I choose to mind canon it. Otherwise, the 12th Doctor chose to not regenerate and everything since was a fever dream as he died. I can be good either way.

I watched Timelash recently. It's like Orson Welles directing Shakespeare compared to this new sh1te.
Funny how stealing straight white male culture is a-ok with these creeps.
I think the problem is twofold; wokeness fatigue and just general _Doctor Who_ fatigue - it needed a rest since Capaldi (who was otherwise an excellent Doctor).
Imaging destroying a show that first aired November 23, 1963
It took them 3 years to kill a show that ran for 61 years.
Do you think it was by accident?
@@kwf484Final stage woke cancer.
Sadly it has happened before for 10 years off screen but at that time, Doctor Who still had very good viewing figures
Couldn’t have put it better myself.
Well said 👏
💯
Seems appropriate with the new series numbering to switch it up to Doctor Who? because this most certainly isn't the Timelord we all knew in any way shape or form.
Thank goodness we have the DVDs - you're right, this has NOTHING to do with Dr Who.
But they were going to get 3 new fans for every one who left...
I think he meant 3 bots for every real fan that left.
Turns out even bots hate this shit

It's a bit like watching a train wreck. People show up to see how bad it is; some show up to report on it, but if you ask anyone, "Hey, would you like to ride that train?" they all say, "No thank you."
The best part: No one will care when it’s gone.
I will disagree with that statement, It was an awesome program to watch, well up to when the female doctor appeared, But yes the last few years have killed this once awesome program. It was the longest running show on tv that I know of.
You clearly will😂
I will, I've been a fan of the show since I was a kid and caught the tail-end of the Classic series.

It was cancelled in 1989 bc of low ratings and those numbers were HIGHER!
Just look at Gatwa and Rusty when they're doing an interview together. By their body language, they're very obviously a couple. Rusty made his boyfriend the "Doctor."
I always thought that was obvious.
This is what happens when you make a show entirely for yourself and not for the audience.
It 's a dreadful irony that the man who brought the show back to life is now the one responsible for killing it?
Wonder who thought it was a good idea to turn the doctor into a crybaby who don't try to save no one
Imagine someone like Idris Elba as the Doctor. THAT would be freaking awesome. Not this nonce..

In view of Gatwa's Scottish connection, perhaps it's time for the show to change it's name from Dr Who to Bufty the Franchise Slayer. If you don't know what the Scottish word Bufty or Bufftie means then look it up on Google though its meaning should be obvious to everyone.
Ahh yes.. Ncuti Gatwa of the historic Gatwa clan, I hear they've owned land in the highlands for centuries you know..
Sylvester McCoy was the last real Dr.
I didn't touch grass, i lay on it for a few days.
Thanks for another good video. Two quick observations:

Pride Month. Their audience are all patting each other on the back watching parades of floats.

Tragic .. now they know the pain and disappointment of being screwed. You won't be missed. This could have been avoided if they'd done their job and tried to make great Doctor Who, but no, they're rude, delusional, insult the viewers, and wiped their ass on a show beloved around the world.
It should have gone back into hiatus at the end of Capaldis run
Capt. Jack was a hero! So is the Doctor. This Guy(?) is not!‼
Don't forget lows in it's *acting*.
It's the director, the lead actor and the writer(s). They are all terrible.
The show died with Capaldi. But the bbc have a habit of playing with corpses (looking at you Jimmy Saville) 😅
It died in about the third NuWho story way back. The Doctor is just a zombie now.
I've been picking up the classic series on Blu-ray and just got Peter Davison - Season 2. It's so wonderful and it just makes it so sad we got activists infesting all our favorite shows. There's nothing much left for them to destroy and its all probably too late to save any of them.

Good sci-fi still exists! Reading is still fundamental. Pick up a book by reputable authors like Isaac Asimov, Anne Mccaffrey and/or Frank Herbert.

They filmed 2 seasons of this crap.
99% of us don't feel "represented". Isn't that always their excuse?
@@mancyank564 Woah! Annoying Doctor Who fans is one thing, but if he'd annoyed fans of the indomitable Miss Smith.....
Absolutely stunning, firing a brilliant companion in less than 10 episodes. ₩tf
Sean Pertwee should take over as a younger version of his father. Thats a Dr. Who I want to watch.
During the 4th doctor we had viewing figures of 50 million , it is impressive how you can continually reuse the same formula and fail hard
Well, that’s just wrong

2029! Bloody hell that’s way too long🤯😵💫
This rainbow agenda in shows at the expense of storytelling and the true fans is what's ruining good shows, storytelling and franchises.
The Doctor never really needed sexuality. I'm starting to think Doctor Who 1996 is where it all went wrong.
To be fair it was already dying, they just put it out of it's misery.
Doctor Who has been unabashedly woke since 2017, it's now 2024 & they still haven't "gone broke". Perhaps its time to retire that phrase.
In the UK it is on BBC and BBC iPlayer. Both are free and the viewing figures are getting lower and lower.
I note the apologists are bringing in the "special" figures in an attempt to push up the average viewer score for the season. It really is pathetic at this stage. 7+ day figures do not completely indicate additional viewers, what is the figure for repeat viewers.
There are people watching this tripe TWICE!? Tell me it isn't so!
Nooo, don't cancel this show. We can go under 1M! We have to try!
It should be canceled but disney will not admit that another woke product has failed so it will drag on till the end of it's original negotiated season episodes and then Amazon will purchase it and double down on it like they did with rings of wokeness.
Jon. Like your commentary. This is just the end game of what RTD started in 2005, and the two other fanfic producers that followed him built on.
Why would they get rid of Gibson when she actually garnered more views on her own than gatwa did?
As for the last episode, "Rogue", it was the worst written piece of television entertainment I have seen in decades.
The saddest thing is I just don't care anymore
Same here. I started watching DW in 1963 and now I can't wait for it to be gone.
I doubt it would matter, look at what Disney has done to Star Wars & the MCU, do you really think they'd turn it around?
Maybe they should remind him that they are paying good money for a ‘well-rating’ show. I’m ok with some of it but not this many changes.
Dcotor who and star wars is so dead.
Doctor Who really is a complete piece of crap in every way.
RTD is too smug, he just wont admit that its not what the viewers want. The viewing figures shows that its crap. Great special effects but let down by terrible story lines.
Runied one of my favourite sci fi series. I'm ashamed to wear my doctor who t-shirts anymore.
One can only hope.
WOW!
A SIX YEAR contract?
There is something really weird going on behind the scens.
If you expect to not make it that long get a 6yr contract with a clause they have to pay out the remaining time if they terminate you.
Suspicious isn't it ? All the other post 2005 are three and out, and once that contract has been signed they have to pay them even if the show isn't made. Chibnall's Who could be dull and preachy, but RTD2 is poor on every level and down right offensive, it wont last past 2 series.
