If you register your car out of state, insurance has to match out of state. If you get another ticket, judge can rule that you’re evading California smog. Don’t ask how I know.

I just got state reffed. I thought i only needed to remove my exhaust back to stock but NOPE they wanted EVERYTHING back to stock . I’m surprised they didn’t want my wheels back to stock
@@626323909 They should not be complaining about things that do not affect emissions like wheels, gauges, paint, cosmetic attachments, etc. A lawyer would be able to easily fight the whole charge and get the whole thing dropped if they state reffed you for cosmetics and emission irrelevant stuff.
I used to always just keep out of state plates, I would come back for summer or a long holiday and only got hassled once. It's only a problem if you get pulled over frequently. I had a license from the state also and was just visiting though. When I moved back in Oct, I kept my Iowa plate till December when I sold the car. That is likely the route I would take again. 5 would only work if you have a smog guy, which most car people do.

DISHONORED ELITE it's really not as bad as most people make it out to be most cops are chill af. Theses things will mostly happen if you're acting a fool or if you weren't aware they were watching and even then if you're respectful it probably be alright. Sometimes you just get unlucky with a supercop.
Just a heads up, this won't help with being state ref'd. Sure, you won't have to smog every 2 years or what ever but if you do get state reffed you're still going to have to deal with that. Snogging isn't the issue, unless you can't find a hook up, it's being state reffed that is the issue. Much worse than dealing with smog.

Generally if not within manufactures specification which states that in my State inspection, vehicle suppose to fail. They all seem to target peoples exhaust systems and tint on their windows are most common but can apply to any part on your vehicle, which means? You're going to have a really bad day at the inspection station, what's legal now maybe illegal next time, states simply suck!

My vehicle is tagged to see the state ref - never got pulled over for any ticket. Must be an issue with the smog done 2 years ago. My research says to register in a county with a new address that is exempt like way out in inyo or alpine. Anyone do this? My 2nd option is transferring title to cousin in AZ.
You’ll have to go register your car in that area. So you’ll have to drive to AZ to get the car inspected in that area. Then get AZ plates. Honestly that way is more of a hassle and then you’ll have to lie every time a cop pulls you over for out of state plates.
Any updates on your state ref case? I could revert to stock no problem, I’m just concerned if state ref would trip since my ecu would show it was modified even if reverting to stock tune..

I registered my car in arizona since i have family there and paid my bail didn't go back to stock and im golden and also I traded in my cali license for Arizona license and I been fine. I have gotten pulled over but once they see the arizona plates they ask me when I'm going back and tell em uts none of your buisness.

Legally, what can attorney argue for you if your car is in fact out of compliance? Not trying to be snarky or direct it at CaliWRX. In general, just trying to wrap my head around what avenues an attorney could have to get your case dismissed or fine reduced?
That is something I am not sure about. Attorney's are still in business for a reason and people tend to use them because they have positive outcomes. In this case, I am sure they have a system.
An attorney's job is not to prove you are innocent. They usually get people out of crimes and it gets switched to some minor ticket. America is scummy. This is why people with money don't go to prison as often

Yes, if the case does not get dismissed it will still show up. I have a follow up video where I talk about what exactly happened in my instance. I got reduced fine, and case dismissed. Thus resulting in it no longer on my record. If just reduced fine, you’ll still have state ref on file. Attorneys vary in cost and I believe they make have gone up in price as well since more and more cases are happening in Cali. I paid $600 or $650 for the attorney. My ticket was close to $900 before reducing. I paid a reduced fine of $250.

If you pay bail you don’t need to take the car anywhere. But if you need to take the car into a state inspection location. A hot smog won’t pass.

If u go to state bar the test and check that u have evap stuff where it goes and dona visual in engine and bar numbers for after market parts

Does this replacing of the seats from OEM to Racing Seats pass CHP inspection as I'm about to have one for a salvage vechicle project of mine. Should I just leave the OEM seats with side airbags until inspection is done and over with before I change to racing seats....I already got a pair of racing seats which I've been wanting to install. Theses things will mostly happen if you're acting a fool or if you weren't aware they were watching and even then if you're respectful it probably be alright. Just a heads up, this won't help with being state ref'd. Sure, you won't have to smog every 2 years or what ever but if you do get state reffed you're still going to have to deal with that. Snogging isn't the issue, unless you can't find a hook up, it's being state reffed that is the issue. Much worse than dealing with smog.

I got state reffed yesterday. It was my 2019 dodge charger RT for loud exhaust ☹️ thank god its only my exhaust and not anything else major but it bums me out so much. I don’t know if i should just put it back to stock or just post bail

Generally if not within manufactures specification which states that in my State inspection, vehicle suppose to fail. They all seem to target peoples exhaust systems and tint on their windows are most common but can apply to any part on your vehicle, which means? You're going to have a really bad day at the inspection station, what's legal now maybe illegal next time, states simply suck!

My vehicle is tagged to see the state ref - never got pulled over for any ticket. Must be an issue with the smog done 2 years ago. My research says to register in a county with a new address that is exempt like way out in inyo or alpine. Anyone do this? My 2nd option is transferring title to cousin in AZ.
You’ll have to go register your car in that area. So you’ll have to drive to AZ to get the car inspected in that area. Then get AZ plates. Honestly that way is more of a hassle and then you’ll have to lie every time a cop pulls you over for out of state plates.

I registered my car in arizona since i have family there and paid my bail didn't go back to stock and im golden and also I traded in my cali license for Arizona license and I been fine. I have gotten pulled over but once they see the arizona plates they ask me when I'm going back and tell em uts none of your buisness.

It’s not $50. Granted you can uninstall and reinstall all the parts. Most don’t keep stock parts, so you’re gonna have to find those.

That is something I am not sure about. Attorney's are still in business for a reason and people tend to use them because they have positive outcomes. In this case, I am sure they have a system.
An attorney's job is not to prove you are innocent. They usually get people out of crimes and it gets switched to some minor ticket. America is scummy. This is why people with money don't go to prison as often

Yes, if the case does not get dismissed it will still show up. I have a follow up video where I talk about what exactly happened in my instance. I got reduced fine, and case dismissed. Thus resulting in it no longer on my record. If just reduced fine, you’ll still have state ref on file. Attorneys vary in cost and I believe they make have gone up in price as well since more and more cases are happening in Cali. I paid $600 or $650 for the attorney. My ticket was close to $900 before reducing. I paid a reduced fine of $250.
