God showed me about the KJV. I had no idea about "KJO" stuff.
My brother had just died, but had given me a KJV bible shortly before his death. I picked it up only because I needed the concordance. Then I found myself comparing that bible with the NASB I'd used for 18 years, along with my newer NIV. I was shocked to discover the differences, which only God could've shown me. It was then I began learning about versions, but my trust in God's word has never faltered. I know what he showed me.

You said: "The KJV and other translations do NOT say different things unless of course you are too dumb to be able to read the same thing in different translations and understand it."

You said: "Jesus didn't speak in KJV english. He didn't even speak in English at all which is probably news to you."
Response: That is irrelevant and silly at the same time. Jesus poke in Hebrew, was recorded in Greek and the word of God was translated into English. Think about this... *NOTHING* was lost! I understand that most of the students do not speak english as their first language. So I told them that I would read the NIV only for the class and in my personal studies I will read KJV. English is not their first language so, I was trying to be understanding when I was chosen to read a Verse out loud.
I asked God in prayer to help me understand the KJV , because I had learned about how the different translations remove Verses and Jesus' Words, I no longer wanted to read from any other Bible but the KJV. I like to open the Bible and go to the scriptures that we are discussing to be sure that we have them right, and a major reason for this it’s because I believe in God‘s perfect preserved words, and not in a general dynamic equivalence of ideas.

    • @Ricolaureano
      @Ricolaureano 7 лет назад +3

rlunnerstall. I say partially. If you research where the modern translations come from you'll understand. What's worse is that almost every pastor in America is against the KJV. It's actually really sad and disheartening to hear from your own pastor(s) that the KJV has "mistakes" in it or that the verse in my Bible was put in by some random person who grab a hold of the manuscript (and yes this IS being taught today). For example, "Christian" schools are teaching that in 1 John 5:7 that the three heavenly witnesses the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit is a forgery when the early church fathers quote this exact verse which predate their manuscripts! The sad part of it is that the argument that they make is the same as the Jehovah witness' argument. Check out their founder's quote in his book:
“The only text in Scripture which was ever claimed to prove, or affirm, that the Father, Son and Spirit are one, is a portion of 1 John 5:7, 8. This appears only in Manuscripts written since the fifth century, and is acknowledged by all Trinitarians to be a “forgery.” So undisputable is this, that the translators of the “Revised Version” recently published, omit the clause without note or comment, though those Revisors [sic] were themselves believers in Trinity.”
Excerpt From: David W. Daniels. “Can You Trust Just One Bible?.”
But, I know the truth, I know where my Bible comes and the ones who wrote it. I hold up the KJV/Valera 1602 Purificada high!

One question you need to ask is what did the word "intermeddeleth" mean and do we still use it today? for if we don't use the word anymore, then the meaning of that word might be lost to some (or most) people.
Another is what does the hebrew say, for even if you don't respect the Hebrew, it still can explain why other bibles say what they say on account of some (or most) of them are at the very least trying to follow the Hebrew here.

The first two minutes of this are almost unbearable. The speaker tries to make the case that a critic of KJV is relying on his "own wisdom" over "god's wisdom," but couldn't that same platitude be applied to someone advocating for KJV only? After all, the speaker is advocating for KJV ONLY, which means that you are standing above all the "authorities" found elsewhere.
At two minutes and thirty seconds he claims that KJV is "gods words," and thst it is a superior version to all the others, which AGAIN is an individual judgment being stacked against other Bibles that he is judging. Which is apparently wrong to do with KJV but not with any of the others.
How does the speaker know that the KJV is "gods words," and thst the other translations are only "mixtures with man's words."
He claims KJV has been tested, by whom? Where are the results of these tests documented? How does he measure the "prayerful, faithful people" produced by other Bibles against the KJV. How do we know his affirmation that "faithful and prayerful" people produced by the KJV are moreso than those produced by other Bibles?
He tells an anecdote about protecting his finances. Would the NIV have not protected his finances as well? What about ESV? He doesn't compare those proverbs between versions of the Bible, he just lists KJV versions and calls them God's words without telling us how he knows that they are God's words.
He claims that KJV "says things right," and that KJV doesn't self contract. Can he demonstrate that claim?
Can he demonstrate his claim that other versions cause doubt and the KJV doesn't? He just makes assertions without providing evidence that his claims are true. How does he know what god wants? How does he know that the KJV is what god wants?

When Tyndale later translated the Pentateuch (Genesis - Deuteronomy) from the Hebrew, he used the word "Passover" throughout, so why "Easter" in the New Testament? Probably because the Greek word for Passover, "Πάσχα" (Pascha) does not have an actual meaning in Greek. Instead, it is a transliteration from the Hebrew "פֶּסַח" "Pesach." In Hebrew, the word literally means "Passover," so in the Old Testament, Tyndale was translating the word's actual meaning. In the Greek, however, the word had no meaning and was simply the proper name of a Holiday. By that time, most Greeks used the word to refer to the now separate holiday known in English as "Easter." Thus, ignorant of the roots of the word at the time he was translating the New Testament, Tyndale used "Easter" to translate "Pascha." It is a quite understandable error!

    • @tdickensheets
      @tdickensheets 3 года назад

Acts 12:4 in KJV is wrong, given that the Greek term is pascha, "passover". Does the Greek NT, for that matter, anywhere reference any 'pagan' so-called 'holyday' by name? I don't think so. If Luke by inspiration had wanted to reference "Easter" (from the goddess Astarte/Ashtoreth, etc. forms of spellings) I guess there would have been an unambiguous term for it readily available in the Greek tongue. facebook.com/KJVOnlyismRefuted/?ref=page_internal

Faithful would be looking at the whole picture and take the time to look. It's not as bad or confusing as it seems. You can get the same doctrine from the more acceptable versions. I prefer the KJV everytime. But it's not perfect. It's just the facts. I have no agenda for this.
But I wonder if many Baptists aren't guilty of clinging to weaker portions of KJV to protect unbiblical doctrine through appeals to specific word translations that are more diverse in the context of the original culture and the nuance of meaning.

Right now you are making the KJV the standard... why not make the Greek and Hebrew manuscripts the standard. You realize the TR does not read like any known manuscript. Erasmus (the man who put together the TR which the KJV was translated from) was a Roman Catholic priest who dedicated the TR to Pope Leo X and couldn't even get the copy right the first time. Let alone his statement regarding I John 5:7... he was fighting against the Latin Vulgate which was uses for 1100 years... just because the KJV has been used for 400 years doesn't define superiority. After dealing with Erasmus' known errors you have to deal with Beza's Conjectural Emendations. I use the KJV, but I have to, as a Bible believer, discern the Word for myself through the Spirit.
You use so much circular reasoning in this video is frightening. What's even more frightening is that people are following that faulty logic. Please hold the KJV to the same are just. Using preference instead of logic is faulty as well. You are comparing other versions to the KJV, you could use that argument for any version out there. If I used the NASB primarily and compared all versions to that the NASB would be the standard and the KJV would fall short. There are places in the KJV where some words are not translated as accurate as they could be, they don't have bad translations, but it could make things clearer. (Doctrine of hell, etc.)
This is just a small fraction of a percentage of the arguments against your faulty logic. I'm not into RUclips debates so I won't respond but I just encourage every man to grow is wisdom and grace like Christ did. Study things out for yourself. Look into textual studies. Don't just listen to faulty logic. If you prefer the KJV, then great! It's a great translation. But to say it's the only, or best, translation you would have to have yourself compared all other versions in a fair and balanced review.

Sounds like a very good explanation to me. One example of a major disappointment I've had before was with the Classical Amplified translation. Thought I had a translation brought to my attention that gave accurate elaborations but later on come to find out they are basically just opinions or theoretics, educated guesses for lack of a better way to put it, those "guesses" as I put it can still hold substance maybe? But still were based on opinion. Should seem so simple, I just am looking for accurate elaborations on certain verses that I believe could use more explanation in the English language. Still am going to be cautious against some KJV-only'ers due to the fact that not all KJV-only'ers are not all necessarily going to have the same doctrine or beliefs despite believing in the same translation, get the impression that a lot (not all) KJV-only'ers can have very inhibiting/ignorant religious mindsets. Nonetheless find this to be an excellent explanation as to why to stick with only the KJV for the English language.

I've also noticed that the most anointed preachers use the KJV in their personal quiet time with the Lord. I think that says a lot about the KJV. When anointed men of God meditate on His Word, their preferred Bible for themselves is the KJV.
This is true for Kenneth Hagin, Benny Hinn, TD Jakes, and Joseph Prince.
They often preach using NKJV and sometimes in other versions, but when they talk about personal stories on when they're reading the Bible in they're own time, the Bible they use is the KJV.
They don't say it explicitly, I just noticed it because I've listened on a lot of their teachings, and read a lot of their books.
For example is Kenneth Hagin's story on how he got healed when he was very young. He got so sick that his blood was yellowish, and he felt he was very close to dying. But he read Mark 11:23, decided to believe it and declare it. He declared it with a vengeance again and again and suddenly he felt something trickle from his head to his body, like honey. From that moment on, he was completely healed. I've read this story on one of his books, and I noticed that the Mark 11:23 he was reading and declaring was the KJV.
Joseph Prince told a story in a preaching of when he was doing his quiet time, studying His Word.
He was asking the Lord about a particular verse that seemed to contradict other verses. Eventually, after reading the verse again and again, the Lord spoke to him and gave him a revelation. When he told this story, he specifically quoted from the KJV because that's what he was reading in his quiet time. I noticed it because he shifted from NKJV. He normally uses the NKJV when preaching.
TD Jakes and Benny Hinn normally use the KJV in their preachings and books. TD Jakes sometimes makes his audience laugh when reading the KJV because he says "ass" which is old word for donkey.

Prov.22:21, That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee...I am so thankful that the LORD preserved His words, though all the enemies of the truth rage on, and the KJV is certain proof of that. The history of the English Bible (textus receptus) is marvelous in our eyes!

You are correct though, as many quote parts of verses out of context, and very few know Hebrew and Greek grammar and bible definitions of words. If you have a thirst for truth 'as it is in Jesus', there are a couple places you can learn from: IAmKoine and Grace and Truth, both on youtube.
I also recommend The Complete Word Study New Testament, edited by Spiros Zodhiates, and dictionary. There is also the ones for the OT... I use the KJV version for reasons of believing the TR to be least 'corrupted' for lack of a better word.
Hope you too receive 'the love of the truth'!

I am not KJV only, yet I do prefer TR versions of the text. Knowing the history of the English bible may give you more insight, as I've researched this most of my life through hundreds of sources. Yet, every man must 'be persuaded in his own mind' ( to borrow a phrase from Paul ).
The Indestructible Book may still be in print (Baker Books). If not you might find a copy on the internet... maybe Abe Books or Google.
An example of accuracy is Jn.3:7,
'Marvel not that I said unto thee (singular pronoun), Ye (plural pronoun) must be born again'... meaning Jesus was speaking to one person, telling him that all must be born 'of the Spirit'.

What I know for sure about you if you are a KJV Bible believer?
    I know you are trinitarian => 1 John 5:7,8
I know you believe that was God himself Who manifested in the flesh to save us => 1 Tim 3:16
I know you believe that someone can only be baptized if they believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, with all their heart => Acts 8:37
I know that you believe in the Eternal Condemnation of Hell => MANY SCRIPTURES THAT WERE REMOVED/CHANGED FROM MODERN BIBLE PERVERSIONS.
Brother David, if possible, do a video about this subject: 'What I Know for sure about KJV Bible Believers?'
This is an enormous advantage that few people think about, after all, all cults and false religions believe in the 'bible', but not in the Bible! What result in confusion; they do not even agree about the BASIC aspects of the Christian faith, for everyone only believe in a bible that does not exist in the real world.

I've been loyal to NKJV my whole Christian life because that's what my church uses. But you've convinced me to get a KJV instead. I completely agree that the notes in NKJV causes confusion. I've also always felt more inspiration (the rhema kind) in the KJV. It's just I've let the "thee", "thou", "ye" in KJV intimidate me before. But the true God-breathed, quickened Word is more important than my intimidation. It is completely possible to train your mind to read in old world English, and I will do that. After all, I have the Spirit of God in me to open my understanding even with all the old English words.
I have a question though, what do you think of the Updated King James Version or UKJV?
Someone made a translation of the KJV and only changed the thee, thou, ye, thine stuff. He made it available online without a copyright so everyone can use (unlike NIV, ESV, NKJV and others who copyrights and charges a fee for their version of the word of God). Just google UKJV to see his website and the complete UKJV text. That's the website that actually directed me to your channel.

By this logic would reading scriptures in their original languages be best? I speak Latin (thank you college classics requirements) so the Vulgate bible is open to me, but if I recall correctly much of the New Testament was written in Koine Greek, and the Old Testament was of course written in ancient Hebrew.
You make a good argument that the KJV is a trustworthy translation -- and if its translation was divinely inspired then there really isn't an issue -- but could a shadow of doubt about *any* translation be removed by reading the bible as it was originally recorded? I've heard that some idioms and literary devices don't translate well from one language to the next.

The issue is with the manuscripts from which EVERY modern translation comes from. They used the corrupted Westcott & Hort Greek.
The King James Bible translators used the Masoretic Text for the OT and the Received Texts for the NT. The King James Bible comes from the pure preserved line of Manuscripts... Modern translations don't.
