Feeding chick

Chicks need to be given adequate feed that is rich in protein, carbohydrates as well as other micronutrients like vitamins and minerals. The feed should be clean and free from dirt. Using semi automatic feeders like the one above helps to enhance hygiene and also avoid wastage of feed. This however has to be introduced at about 12 days of age when the chicks can ably feed from it. Earlier than this, chicks can be given feed using trays.
