A coyote is gonna be alot lighter than a boosted 2v a coyote is lighter than an iron 2v anyways then you add boost weight on top of that. For a corner carver an all motor coyote would be a better setup. Less weight on the front better balance and less heat soak issues to worry about although a centri doesn't have bad heat soak issues with proper cooling it's still gonna be alot more heat issue than an na setup. @@isaacabernathy8819 the 2v isn't nearly as fragile as people make it out to be. People act like if you're making 400 wheel you're on borrowed time. If so you're running shit fuel or shit tune or both and/or not maintaining the car properly. They can live at 450+ easily on a stock bottom end with good fuel and tuning.
But you also are stuck at that power level unless you build the bottom end whereas this car can be boosted and run 650-700 to the wheels. If you only wanna get into the 400 hp range and stay there that is fine. This is a better setup with more potential. The coyote isn't just alot more powerful its all aluminum construction makes it alot lighter than an iron 2v also. You nearly double your hp, you take 80-90 lbs off the front and take your ceiling from 450 range to 650-700 and if you do a gen 2 coyote 800+ wheel. I think awesome..it could be done for a similar price with an f150 coyote except with a cj intake and l&m intake cams to bring it above stock mustang specs.
Another thing you gotta consider is he's including upgrades to the engine and driveline and even including the wheel cost and everything it isn't just the coyote swap he basically priced out his entire build. A stock s197 5.0 would get drug hard by this car and will always be slower with the same setup because it's significantly heavier. Not to mention some people like the older look and feel plus the coyote sounds better in a new edge for whatever reason. It's alot more unique.
How would it be better off? It weighs like 600 lbs more lol. It's definitely not "better off" if you're talking about performance. Some people prefer the older look and feel. Everyone has an s550. The coyote sounds better in a new edge and it damn sure runs better in a new edge. This can be done quite a bit less than what he did but even still there is no way you're getting an s550 for the money he has into this car unless it's a 200k mile pos.
This can be pieced together over time while you're enjoying the car. It's apples to oranges. An s550 with the same power will get drug hard because it's 600+ lbs heavier that is similar to about 60 hp increase. Not everyone wants the same thing as everyone else some of us like to be different.
You can claim any mods done and they will increase value but it also raises your premiums too just gotta talk with your insurance company and see what they can do
That is more optimal for drag racing. You wanna wind as much of 4th out as you can without redlining before the traps that is ideal gearing for the quarter.
I found a coyote swapped cobra for sale for $11k. I have a 99 v6 35th anniversary. Thinking about buying it and swapping it. Wouldn't need to buy anything extra as the coyote is already a running car. Wanting to swap them tho bc I like the body and interior of my car ALOT better. Would it be easier to just swap the body and interior than to do the engine swap? The coyote is a convertible a d mine is a coupe. Mine also has super nice and super clean black cloth interior being the 35th anniversary which is why I want the body and interior of mine
Bruh the only reason to buy a cobra that’s already been swapped is exactly that, the work is already done. I don’t see the logic in that. Surely if you only need the drivetrain you can just get the drivetrain for less than the whole damn car
Coyotes don't cost 11 grand lol. You could get crate gen 1 motors like he has for 7500 bucks when they were available. Anyone selling you any coyote for 11k is ripping you off especially a gen 1. 3500 bucks is a decent deal for a mustang gen 1 coyote but it isn't like unheard of by any means.
@@DoctorRickSanchezit's like 9800 I think brand new and this clearly isn't a gen 3. You can find gen 1 mustang coyotes in good shape with 80-100k for 3500. I seen 60k mile gen 2 mustang motors for just over 5k.
@Jordan N. new edge is not a crap car it is on a modified fox chassis that is just stiffer and better than the fox, it has 5 lug stock, 4 wheel discs, a better interior, better handling, its put together overall better and a coyote swaps into a new edge alot easier than a fox as you can use the stock brake booster, stock trans, stock motor mounts and bunch of other stuff makes it easier to swap into a new edge vs a fox. I love fox bodies too but facts are facts overall the new edge is a better car for less money people charge a fortune for foxes these days while edge cars and better and easier to coyote swap and can be had cheaper. Much better starting point...to each their own
You could potentially boost it for less and make similar power but you'd be at the top of what you can do without going built motor whereas this engine can still be boosted and basically double its hp. If all you're wanting is 400 hp range and are never gonna want more maybe that would be ok. A stock coyote is gonna get way better mpg than a boosted 4.6 tho imo both in the same weight vehicle. I know people don't care about mpg but if you can get better mpg from the same amount of power why wouldn't you?
good luck with having to change the cams and phasers, fuel system, suspension, control pack, transmission, k member, radiator, wheels and tires and many more things you run into, you go do the swap for 6k and ill give you 12k cash for it the next day.
Yeah u can do a bare bone f150 swap in a sn95, but ur speedo wont wrk, no heat or a/c, etc, etc and will be missing out on driving a completely functional car. I'm saving right now. And whn I do, I want my 97gt running and completely functioning as it is now. But no, u definitely don't need $23k plus to do it. Can be done with $9~$12k. This guy went all out including the bells a whistles, plus this includes the purchase of the car, and fixing busted suspension, which a full suspension setup isn't cheap if ur not half assing it. Yes, but it's about the build.
_Why run and get a s550 that everyone has and possibly be financing for several years just for some fun? Nobody got time for that🤡😂_
This can be pieced together over time while you're enjoying the car. It's apples to oranges. An s550 with the same power will get drug hard because it's 600+ lbs heavier that is similar to about 60 hp increase. Not everyone wants the same thing as everyone else some of us like to be different.
Who is the guy that parts out mustangs ? I need to get with him asap
Great video man. Ima holla at you
Can you tell me the part number for the coolant relocation kit?
my late 01 gt has a tr3650 in it
what is the wheel and tire set up?
What does insurance say your car is worth? Anywhere near what you put into it or will they still go by Kelly BlueBook?
You can claim any mods done and they will increase value but it also raises your premiums too just gotta talk with your insurance company and see what they can do
Super dope video! 🔥
Thanks brah!
Awesome job man
Dont fear the gear
My dude did you ever do the budget video?
Did you the swap over a year or 2 time or just all at once I feel like I could afford the swap over 2 years or so but not in a few months time
U said u wanna b at 125 mph in 4th gear instead of 3rd gear why?
That is more optimal for drag racing. You wanna wind as much of 4th out as you can without redlining before the traps that is ideal gearing for the quarter.
Does this work for a SN 95? I have a 95 Cobra.
Love you 😍
Love you too😂
I found a coyote swapped cobra for sale for $11k.
@@devin2999_But he said he likes his new edge bodystyle better tho... let the man do what he wants lol._
wow....to get a coyote for $3500 is amazing, my only question would be how many miles did it have on it........that motor new is like $11K
@@midnight347_Meanwhile a gen 3 is roughly 9-10k_
@@DoctorRickSanchezit's like 9800 I think brand new and this clearly isn't a gen 3. You can find gen 1 mustang coyotes in good shape with 80-100k for 3500. I seen 60k mile gen 2 mustang motors for just over 5k.
Good job!
Do you know some were I can get a coyote motor
Tuned By Norm in Gray,La???🤔🤔🤔
I guess it all boils down to have something different. Sounds like a person could get a 2011 plus mustang cheaper then spending on a swap
@Jordan N. new edge is not a crap car it is on a modified fox chassis that is just stiffer and better than the fox, it has 5 lug stock, 4 wheel discs, a better interior, better handling, its put together overall better and a coyote swaps into a new edge alot easier than a fox as you can use the stock brake booster, stock trans, stock motor mounts and bunch of other stuff makes it easier to swap into a new edge vs a fox. I love fox bodies too but facts are facts overall the new edge is a better car for less money people charge a fortune for foxes these days while edge cars and better and easier to coyote swap and can be had cheaper. Much better starting point...to each their own
You should DM your engine guys info. Looking into swapping my 04 GT currently and looking to do it on a budget.
Dm me on insta
Foxcast Media did a budget swap for under 9k. They have videos with part #’s.
Hell ya I’ll buy a shirt
That means a lot brother dm me on insta
I did rn bro
Can you turbo it
You live in Louisiana?
Dam send your guy info I am interested getting motor from him.
And what color are you bro say ASK not axe
What size tires are on her ...
At the time a 26/10.5/15 now a 27
Is this a first gen or second gen coyote?
Second Gen 50'000 miles. 3500 bucks.
Awesome thanks
Any negatives on removing the hood insulation? Lol
I've ran one without it, its just there to help with noise, and to hold some heat under there
I feel like just boosting would have been way cheaper an made more power.
Here for it. subbed up and thumbs up.
About to watch so this is an early comment lol
Appreciate it brotha
Axed?
I want to swap my 3v
That Year Had A T5 Right?
Not the v8
Had a tr3650
Buying a mustang that’s not running for under 1k & buying the truck motor would of saved you so much more money could of did this swap for about 6k
good luck with having to change the cams and phasers, fuel system, suspension, control pack, transmission, k member, radiator, wheels and tires and many more things you run into, you go do the swap for 6k and ill give you 12k cash for it the next day.
A lot of wht he included was optional
@@blackcrisis2004 exactly this car is well sorted and upgraded it isn't just like an stock s197 5.0 in a different body all these people saying you can get an s197 for the same price yea but then you gotta dump a bunch more money in it to make it as well sorted as this car is and also the fact of the matter is some would just rather have a new edge coyote over an s197 or s550 coyote not only because it's more unique and its alot lighter but some just prefer the new edge that is the cars we grew up with
@Dustin Harris dont know if you are going to reply, but where did you buy the engine?
10 to 5 to 1 compression 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Heard he lost his car 😢
Can you give me the dude email or business info that sells the coyote motors
Swap could of been a lot cheaper
3650 started in 2000
Mid 2001 on gt and the 2001 cobras all had it I believe.
Vanilla ice
U coulda just get a s550 with all the nice gadgets
not the looks tho
It would be 600 lbs heavier and slower though. Some people prefer the looks and feel of the older car. And to some the gadgets aren't important at all and are actually preferred to not be there. To some it's about the driving experience not how many gadgets do you have. Everybody has an s550 this is way more cool and unique.
He is pricing out his entire build too not just the coyote swap. Alot of this stuff would have to be purchased with an s550 too.
gadgets ruin it
aye bro any parts you have that you want to give away send them to me
Just found the channel! Love the content! Just subbed so I can keep up with the channel! If you don't mind, checkout my channel, been featuring my friend's Coyote-swapped New Edge GT. Track vids of it coming soon! Thanks again for the great content!
Just subbed my man! I would love to do this to mine! I just started to mod mine! Invite you to check it out!
Way over paid for the swap imo.
I would just put that 5500 down on a new mustang and have one thats better
But the newer mustang isn't better to everyone people just can't wrap their heads around the fact that some guys prefer the older style and feel not to mention you're about 600 lbs lighter off the rip so it's faster than an equally set up s550. Not everyone wants to just finance a new car like everyone else does this is way more unique and cool imo and I gaurantee it would be alot more fun to drive. Alot more raw.
@@midnight347 _Nice s197 u got._
@@DoctorRickSanchezthank you sir. It's an 07 gt500 with a gen3r it's pushing 740/733 to the tire through 410 gears and fat drag radials (both soak up power) on a 95 degree day. I also have a 97 cobra I just got I'm going to coyote swap it. I wanna do an all motor 500 rwhp 8000 rpm capable corner carver and I'm gonna lighten it till it's around 3000 lbs without killing streetability. I think I'm gonna do a gen 2 coyote and tkx 5 speed it's lighter than the t56 and will work just fine for what I'm doing. I can also use the same aluminum driveshaft that I'm using w stock t45. I could do a built t45 also I'm not sure yet.
