When I was a teenager my friend and I started a band in early 2000s. I wanted to call it the Black Keys which was a reference to a Marilyn Manson song. My friend didn’t care for the name. Was surprised a few years later to find out about this band.

They're a rock & roll duo that's been out since 2006. They did a rap / rock project called Blackroc, which came out in 2010. Mos Def, M.O.P, Pharoah Monch, ATCQ, Jim Jones, and Wu Tang worked with them.
