I am French and I am totally excited about this new project. I was disappointed that Alta did not go further in its development. I am excited because in my country, France, it is not the ecological issue that is the problem but the noise issue. Our sport is dying in Europe because of the noise and more and more circuits are closing. The Varg may be the answer to our problem!
On a global level, I think that the electric motorcycle should not exist at the expense of the combustion motorcycle. I think that the two types of motorcycles must coexist because the ecological issue is very little concerned with motocross.
    Thanks Matt, nice vid 👌

@@richarddaddio360 Agreed. I'm pretty stoked about the whole development. Lots of motocross parks just outside of cities. What's not to like? It will be interesting to see how the aftermarket changes with electric motorcycles, since everything is simpler and most likely more durable.

Pretty outstanding if that thing gets 4-6 hours of battery at "normal" operation. The instant power adjustment is interesting as well. Getting the controls up off the feet will be cool. We'll see how it works out, but it seems like the future just quietly hit me in the face.

I really hope that they can deliver on their promises.
Some specs sound a bit sketchy to me, just because they are so insanely good.
For example, I can't fathom how a 6 kw/h battery can last 6 hours with that kind of power.
However, it could be possible, and I'm very hyped.
I contacted them via Email, and they confirmed to me that they are also working on a street legal enduro version.

    • @augsu
      @augsu 2 года назад +1

Actually 6 hours is pretty reasonable as long as they have their efficiencies dialed in. I have a 9kwh tracked machine that will last 6 hours of easy running in snow. I can see a wheeled bike in summer being 1/3 more efficient.

    • @felixb.59

It's about the same cost a 4 stroke motocross bikes (which, I agree are getting silly expensive).
      Varg 60hp is $11,900.
      Varg 80hp is $12,900.
      2022 KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition MSRP: $11,699.
      2022 YZ450 Racing Edition MSRP is $9,799.
And each "tank of gas" will be 70 cents compared to $8 for four stroke and $11 for two stroke/oil. And no transmission fluid changes or engine oil changes, oiling air filters, messing with sparks plugs, reeds/carbs, FI add ons, valve checks, top ends, bottom ends, etc.
I still love my ICE bikes but love my EV bikes, too. Will ride both for a long time. But I ordered a Varg and we'll see if this bike pushes my EV riding percentage to over 50% of all my rides.

People don't care that we ride dirtbikes, it's when we're tired from the constant noise at work we'd like to be able to have a quiet conversation with our families without having to raise a voice or be startled which a fat 450 can easily do when it's quiet. It'll be more like DH/FR MTB just all over and I grew up doing that. Motoguys will grow to love the silence and just the chain noise/wind.

Well after receiving my new Stark Varg about 2 weeks ago and riding it in my first race and I was totally impressed! In the setup of the bike before I even ran the race I was going through things. In looking over the bike and making sure things were ready to make the race go well. I found that the bike was of Superior quality compared to my other Motocross bikes that I have. In the first ride I found that compared to my Yamaha's the suspension felt firmer but yet better. Hard to explain but noticeable difference and noticeable improvement in handling on the bike. After a few laps I felt extremely comfortable on the bike jumping, whoop sections and corners. This is an extremely high quality bike I would put this head-to-head to any manufactured dirt bike on the market today and I think most would agree it's of superior quality and performance. This bike will open up the future for more Motocross in more areas than ever before I believe! Nice work Stark Future!

So you can turn up to the track , a few practice laps , qualifying , a few heats and the final all within an hour ? Or two. Or take a petrol generator with you to charge a electric bike hmmmmm. But would a small portable generator have enough power to quick charge ? Or would it take a few hours to part charge. A weekend away trail riding ? How long would it take for a portable generator to charge it so you could ride for say 4 hours ? 8 , 10 , 12 , 16 hours ? Do a test with a generator to see how long it takes to fully charge it , then ride it to see how long/far you can go , then you can see how much it does to the gallon when you are off road and away from the electric grid. Or just get a much cheaper , more convenient real dirt bike and a Jerry can 😂😂😂

I’m buying one of these. Bye bye oil changes, etc. 80hp, I don’t even think it needs it. I have a 450 and it never needs any more power. 60hp maybe has a longer trail ride time. 60 sees to be enough.

Hey said come back to the truck and run a generator to charge it, except in California they are in the process of trying to ban generators. Might as well just keep the motorized dirt bike.

FYI, that CA bill (43018.11. (a) (1)) is not an outright ban on all generators, lawn equipment, etc. as so many media outlets incorrectly keep reporting. It only applies to new engine sales manufactured after 2024. So if you already own anything with a small engine or buy something that was manufactured before the 2024 date, you are free to continue to use it, repair it, etc. So basically a phase out of new sales, not a ban on existing.

By the looks of this battery pack,
They will squeeze about 200 high discharge cells in there which means it’s gonna be a 40s5p power house!!!!
    Which means 168v peak pack!!!
    A lot of powah…
But 4 to 6 hour riding
    I don’t think so!!!
    Based on 5p setup!!!!
If it was 10p yeah maybe….
I think 2 to 3 max hours of fun time is what u can expect.

They're claiming 938 nm of torque. I believe that converts to 691 ft/lb. That's an absurd number anyway, but how do you say it's double a 450 which averages around 35 ft/lb I thought. Am I missing something or not fully understanding. Help...

I wonder what Swede's know about dirt bikes really.
Hopefully it won't break in half, or catch on fire, the first time you dump it..
And it's only viable for fun in the sun with an extra battery pack, so does that swap out & for how much extra?
Then there is no mention of it's top speed. Is this merely a bike permanently set in 2nd or 3rd gear?
That would jack up rear wheel HP while fast enough for MX only.. But useless for trail riding.

I don’t see the issue with going electric for smaller vehicles like this. As long as it’s not a large step backwards in anyway. How long does it take to charge. With gas you just fill it up. Battery life span? Replacement cost?
