Today we walk you through some traditional and newer drum dampeners that are available and show you how they affect the sound of your drum. From the old stand by of just throwing your wallet on the drum, to gel dampeners, to new innovations using magnets and leather, we cover some of our favorite dampeners from the very basic to more complex. Dampeners are a great way to experiment with your sound or just simply adjust the overtones of a drum. An excellent tool to have on hand for any playing environment, dampeners can help ensure that you get the sound you want out of your drums no matter where you play.

Thanks for doing all this
Yesterday I used my phone as a dampener on my floor 😂
Great review!
so very helpful , thanks
I prefer it without any dampening and the weighty 10:15 wouldn't be any good as my rims are chrome over brass !
Hi can I ask roughly how may decibels this reduces volume by?Thanksyou so much
Did you have a preference for any of these?
I like the snare weight leather dampener since it gives you a range of dampening in one device. I still use gel dampeners the most though so take that for what it's worth.
