For the Southwest flight, did you actually reserve a seat close to the wing? Or could you choose your seat while entering the aircraft? How did it work? (I've experienced both; not on Southwest).
I was wondering, when you contact ATC for the first time on a flight and give them your 2 digit N number, do they ever assume you are just giving the last two digits and ask you for the whole number?
Sometimes they do. I also get asked about that by FBO's sometimes. I tell them, after the owners bought the aircraft they couldn't afford to buy a full registration Number.
Is it mildly annoying to have to Airline back and forth instead of them just allowing you to fly back in the jet? I know the cost differential is probably around $5,000 but in the world of private aviation, that's not a lot.

@@captmoonbeam Ha! The short registration numbers are hard to come by, and probably in some cases, you have to pay somebody to give it up, I'll bet.
