      How do you think Crawford compares to Floyd? Would Terrance have been his toughest fight?

    • @BoxingGems

      Cant be sure about fantasy fights but Floyd is the “best” skilled boxer ever imo. Crawford is the “most” skilled of this era imo.

    • @JEDIAL9
      @JEDIAL9 3 года назад +1

      @@BoxingGems It's ok to say that Floyd, Crawford, or Sweat Pea Witaker are some of the best skilled and defensive fighters ever because that's their opinion. But in reality, you can't say that Floyd has better skills than Crawford because Floyd never Switched to Southpaw. A fighter that can expertly switch during any fight has double the skills over any fighter that possesses one skill. This is simple mathematics.
      To me, Sweat Pea had better movement than Floyd and Crawford, but I prefer Crawford over both Floyd and Sweat Pea. If they were all in the same era with Sugar Ray and Hearns, who'd know who'd win? One fun fact is that Sugar Ray beat both Roger and senior Floyd Mayweather. So, there's a good chance that Pretty Floyd would've not beaten Sugar Ray...

    This was fantastic brother. The nuances in this fight were beautiful. What i appreciate the most is the sneaky way TC places body shots, not only on the inside but from distance w/ them long azz arms. Porter wore down from the body attack as well as the mental stress that was imposed upon him. We thought he was going ro have to dig deep in bag. Instead, Crawford made it look easy.

    Very well done. I agree Crawford is the most skilled fighter of this era. So much of what he does goes unnoticed by less knowledgeable fans. His footwork is brilliant. The double step back leading to the perfectly precise uppercut counter that floored Porter first time in 10th round was a thing of beauty. He often steps to the side and counters with that quick check hook. Bud is so skilled and does so many things excellently that some get overlooked.

    Amazing breakdown and easily one of the best Crawford breakdowns ever.
    Since I appreciate your work so much, I'm really interested in knowing how you think a fight between a prime Mayweather and Crawford could've went. Personally, I feel Bud would've been a horrible matchup for Floyd due to his reach, counter punching skills and thudding power. Also, he can fight from both stances and that would've also given Floyd a lot to deal with. Lastly, Floyd he never had the power to KO any of the top Welterweights and, so, he was gonna have to fight 12 rounds with Bud and I don't think he would've fared well in the later rounds seeing how well Bud carries his power into the later rounds.

    • @BoxingGems
      @BoxingGems  2 года назад +2

      I try to stay away from fantasy fights. Much love tho fam. The book on Crawford is staying patient and counter him when he initiates offense. Floyd was a master at that. After that it would be a game of adjustments. If Crawford loses that it would be Crawford selling out and trying to make it a dog fight. I’d favor Floyd for his ability to control dogs and counterpunch.

    • @BoxingGems
      @BoxingGems  3 года назад

      I know this is going to sound very strange but do you have one of those punching machines in your area? With the hanging punching bag that “reads” your power? It’s not exactly accurate, but it will be the least expensive way to see what feels better and what produces possibly more power between Keeping your weight on the front leg or transferring from the back leg. It’s proper to sit on the front leg but it’s possible to get away with transferring from the back leg into the twist of the hips. The problem with throwing a lead hand hook transferring from the back leg is it’s not a natural movement in an actual fight. Unless it’s a lead punch, it’s usually after a back hand punch which means your weight should be already on the front foot.

    Impeccable breakdown 👌 Bud got some stuff in his bag that you can't even teach its just instinctive either you got it or you don't. I already felt like Bud was in a class of his own but after peeping this breakdown I think Bud would be a match-up nightmare for Spence considering their skill set. Sadly I think Spence and his team might be somewhat aware of that as well 😕

    I've been saying Bud is the best boxer of this generation for years. If he really wanted to, he could get in the ring and completely shut you out while cruising to an easy win. One of the reasons I love watching him is because even though he has the skills to make it easy for himself, he's a warrior at heart and he wants to finish you. This round was a complete masterclass by Bud, and this video was a masterclass in technical breakdowns. Instead of trying to explain how great Bud is from now on I'm just sending people the link to your videos on him. Salute bro

    i find it interesting, that bud often likes to resort to more of a loaded powerjab than a hook. Often with the setup of a "throwaway" cross

    • @BoxingGems
      @BoxingGems  3 года назад +2

      Swivel jab or the hook. That’s Crawford’s “signature” combination in the open stance. He does either a lot.

    Great vid💯 How would you describe the stance that Crawford fights out of most of the time with his rear to his chest and the lead low You think it could be affective in orthodox?

    • @BoxingGems
      @BoxingGems  3 года назад +3

      Thanks fam! 💪🏾 For me it’s just a hybrid type low guard. Mayweather used it from time to time as well. Other orthodox fighters too, so yes, it’s effective either stance.

      @@BoxingGems what would you say it’s strong and weak points are

    • @BoxingGems
      @BoxingGems  3 года назад +1

      Negatives: on the surface it’s not inherently protecting anything. You need to be able to control distance very well and have great reflexes to even use it effectively for defense.
      Positives: You’re throwing punches from an awkward angle. Up jabs,…back hand punches off the chest. Head movement is easier with the hands low…

      @@BoxingGems you know BB Fannon and money b always talking about how buds opponents give him a hard time but when you take a close look as to whats going on in slow motion you realize bud is always making boxing moves when he get off his shots and even in the middle of his exchange. Its like he gives a little so he can get alot smart boxing!

  • @iiahahybilaash9434

    Had to subscribe to you bro your are own point with this breakdown talking about different technique I’m not aware about because I’m not a boxer but I’m a good observer of boxing and eye tester, so like when you mentioned the total punches of porter tallied up to 79 and ppl have enough nerve to say Terence Crawford didn’t when that fight or was getting with too much is crazy,plus skills when ppl say that they be throwing that out there like this one guy think that Vergil Ortiz has enough skills to give Crawford a good fight when I totally don’t agree lmk what you think. Also a lot of ppl think ennis has this unbelievable skill set when o Just think he is just a good boxer puncher with good speed and power in both hands.

    • @BoxingGems
      @BoxingGems  3 года назад +1

      Ennis and Vergil are good. Vergil is a proven top contender. He can give anyone problems. Ennis would need to step up in comp before I give him a shot to beat a Champion. Right now, I got Crawford stopping either.

    • @iiahahybilaash9434
      @iiahahybilaash9434 2 года назад

      @@BoxingGems Yea I got Crawford beating them both too I Just thinking ppl get carried away saying how Virgil could possibly beat a Terence Crawford I think jaron ennis would be the only one who would have a chance. It’s funny how ppl say “ oh jaron ennis had unbelievable skills” I’m like from what I see he has the same amount of skill as a top fighter of a Terence Crawford or Spence but it’s not unbelievable and for Ortiz he has some skills but not enough to beat Crawford tho.

    Probably just me, but it’s amazing how much more one sided the fight looks when slowed down.. can’t really catch all the details at full speed but it looks so much more hopeless for Porter when you can see them

    • @BoxingGems

      I hear you fam. I saw most of this live but their are some things I didn’t catch until the second watch. But of course when you slow it down it will make everything more obvious. It’s about training your eyes fam. That’s the channels goal for fans. I’ve been doing a lot of upcoming fight breakdowns because the boxing schedule has been great lately but I’ll get back to more fighter breakdowns when they relax. Once you see these maneuvers over and over again you will be able to pick it up at normal speed 💪🏾💯
