Anthony, on Rick Rubin's podcast, explains that the lyrics are about a unique couple that came into a coffee shop that he was sitting in. The man had these long white braids and the woman brought a pillow with her to put on her chair.
One of the best songs they have done ever. When I visited LA in May I went to Ventura to sort of re-trace the song. Had it playing in the car. Went to a Sunday diner there and went to watch the surfers. A week later I went to Spain to watch the Chilis live in Seville. Amazing experience. I plan to go back to Ventura and visit every diner there in a kind of weired bucket list thing I've come up with. Not really for the song, just for ventura.. that place has a great vibe to it.
@BEN UPSON this song has such a gentle, nostalgic vibe to it; clearly you’re a true fan ♥️ that’s a lovely story you shared there. When you return to those Ventura diners, remember to take a pillow for your chair, right?
Anthony mentioned that he wrote it at a diner in the Big Sur area in California. He saw an older couple eating and i believe one of them had white braids. The pillows were part of the diner if i remember correctly. I think he mentioned it on a podcast conversation with Rick Ruben.
@@gerardoortega7507 He said Coffee shop in Ventura. He made a mental note to write a song about them and wrote it years later with John. The woman brought her own pillow.
I can see why they decided to not play this live anymore. My favorite song from UL but some songs work really well live and some just don't work. Shame, but I'm afraid this one is the latter case.

One of the best on the album. Wish they would play it more.
Such a shame they’ve only played it this one time
One of the best RHCP's songs of all-time
This one's my personal fav off the new album.
The only one song that I like from this album. All the other songs are pretty the same. Quite bad album .
@@bartosz1055 Right! Didn't wanna be the one to say it but I'd have to agree. WIth the exception of this one tune which I think is AMAZING!
You guys tripping. There’s bangers on this album .
This and "its only natural"...
@@ryanhale1654 By the Way still the best on my opinion.

I really dont get it, this is one of the best songs of the new album
@@lucacastro1191they only play songs that all 4 intrinsically enjoy playing. Unfortunately White Braids was retired shortly after 😞
My favorite UL song :)

This song is so beautiful, so tender, so sweet
Wow! One of Kiedis' and Rick Rubin's and my favorites!! Can't wait to see the 2023 tour!
Didn’t realize that its a white falcon song! Niiicee!
In álbum isn't white falcon
On the Album he plays it on his red Jaguar, according to Frusciante himself.
@@Strathias28 whats the source for that? couldn't find it anywhere

Preciso urgente deles tocando no Brasil os últimos álbuns. 😍

Wonderful thanks for sharing
something about that guitar in the outro I get a surfer rock vibe from the effect
Spring reverb!
Funny you should say that. Listen to Shag Rock - Sunbleached Girl.
The verses seem very similar
Woohoo ♥
Great song. We can only aspire.
Awesome
finally!!!
Maravilloso...
I wonder why they've only played this once on the tour.
John had the whammy bar right there and didn't use it -.-
this is a rare time i'm disappointed
I thought he’d be pulling out the jaguar
me too but now that you think about it the gretsch has a bigsby so the ending part works with that guitar. Interesting…
why did anthony keep messing up the second half? bro kept coming in early for some reason
So this is the first and last time they played this live ?
Yes
Why?? :/ How do you know that? @@AssanRakhmanov
I just wanna know if on every other chorus Anthony says White braids and pillow tray instead of white braids and pillow chair?
