Another great vid. Being hispanic i knew trueno meant thunder but did not know that levin was another word for lightning. Beautiful mango and informational vid! :)
That's one good looking Toyota! I love those! Always have! They remind me of my youth growing up in Puerto Rico, my brother use to own one brand new back then. And that's the first car I ever drove! Actually learned to drive! And it was sr5 5 speed! Awesome car.
Nice corolla coupé I saw a few month ago an abandon 2007 mini cooper red in color i live in Portugal and this car is well parked near where i work its in good condition after a good wash and cleaning and nobody do nothing about it. Thanks Daniel for share
Daniel, I am actually looking at a car from the same dealer (Motor Spirit Alpha) you did this video at and it's a green TE27 Sprinter Trueno. These cars are getting harder and harder to find! I've been watching your videos for awhile now and have to say "great job and keep it up". You give all of us a nice window into the Japanese car culture. Thanks,
WasabiCars That's the one, I'm waiting for them to get me some pics of the panel between the drivers door and rear fender. I wanted to see if there is bondo/filler on the rear panel, other that that it appears to be pretty clean. I think that color was a factory option. I'm also not to crazy about the roll cage in the car. thanks for the reply
i really like the look of that, love the over fenders and fat wheels, and when the sun hits it, the colour really pops, just beautiful :) QOTD- i saw an original AC Cobra in the showroom of our local Ferrari & Maserati dealer, i didn't see a price, but i bet it wasn't cheap, lol. keep the great videos coming Dan :)
Corrolla' are some of my fav old Toyotas and these two didn't disappoint. I would give both my cars for something like this (in this condition). Another awesome video mate.... I recently saw A Lexus LFA at the Aston Martin shop in Southport and it was only $500 000!!! TOYOTAS!!!!
WasabiCars yezzir. They throw rotaries in em and call em peanuts. We love the ke70 also between my dad and uncles they have owned 5. 'Yoga love... Family thing :)
The video reminds me of the AE86 story when I gave a couple a lift to the train station: my fiends girlfriend was Spanish and she just couldn't believe I drove in a "thunder". Obviously she never would have known if I did not stuck a copy of the OEM Toyota Sprinter Trueno sticker on my car. ;) QOTD: honestly I haven't been to car-yards recently... However I did spot a couple of cool cars driving past them on vacation. A pre-facelift Nissan 300ZX (Fairlady) Z30 and a Nissan 300ZX (Fairlady) Z31 at an Hungarian Nissan dealer, a Toyota Corolla KE20 coupe and a Toyota Celica GT4 ST162 at an Austrian Toyota dealer. :)
Hi, I would like to thank you for changing the difference between your voice volume and the background music! For me personally it makes it alot easier to understand :) greetings from the Netherlands!
G'day Dan'l. Nice looking Corolla Lightening. I used to see these alot here in Seattle where I lived when I was a boy. A neighbour of my aunts had one. I can't remember what the colour was, it was so long ago. It wasn't as nice condition as this one, but it wasn't bad either. :)
It has been many years since I have been in a car yard, if you meant a wreckers...but I saw many examples of my current car...almost all of which suffered from head gasket failure.
The levin looks good, but that sprinter tureno looked sooooo much better. That was a beautiful looking car. I love Z's but that car was up there with them. Cant wait for stickers, i want to put one on my z
Wow, I havnt been to a dealership since 2012 when my mum got our Ford Focus.... So I guess you could say, the last car I saw at a dealership was my Focus....
woooo thanks for the money shot, that is a beautiful engine bay*! love those ITBs. hey that car's not even $20k in local money, this amazing vehicle would be more than worth it *i just realized it's from a different car, still awesome
I do like muscle cars, especially old Chryslers. The old ones from the 60's & 70's. Newer cars (and the Nissan SR20DET engine) don't hold any special meaning for me.
QOTD: I saw a '91 MX5/Miata, and it's gonna be my first car! I'm so excited! (Technically it wasn't in a yard, it was on someone's drive.) Are MX5's still too young for you to like?
Wasn't quite as much a car lot as it was a Craigslist ad, haha. 2003 Infiniti m45, which is a rebadge of the Nissan m34 Cedric/Gloria. A newer car you're probably not into much. :D I've been interested in the car "on paper" since it first came out. For this model they wedged in the Nissan VK45DE, which shot out 340hp when new. No idea of the conversion to kw for you, I'm a sad American haha. I managed to trade a Ford Focus for it because the m45 needed some work, but it was well worth it. Chipped away at various sensors and mechanical neggles here and there. Rides smooth and I typically drive defensively, but every once in a while I'll stretch its legs and just feel good. :) You seem to like rarer versions of cars, you may find the 2003-2004 Infiniti m45 interesting. They only made a few thousand of them, as far as I know. I've only seen three in my life that I can recall, and that's counting the one I have.
Oh hey, awesome! When I first got it, I would study it from my kitchen window trying to come to grips with the design. Now, however, I really appreciate the handsome design. My neighbors apparently do, too haha.
qotd: there is a scrap yard near mine that has a citroen DS convertable. its been sitting for nearly 2 years. paint looks good but i know those old citroens rust from the inside out.
I saw a 2003 Corvette in a car lot recently... The guy wants almost 17,000 Canadian Dollars for that car? The 2003 Corvette was only $21,000 and the condition and mileage were comparable... The '73 Corolla is a nice little car, but they sold for only about $2500 when they were new, and they had original wheels on them!
Yeah, it seems classic car prices are beginning to soar here. I guess the plan to reduce their numbers by letting them rust to death is finally paying off. ;-)
Hey Daniel. I'm really liking the way the channel is progressing! Sorry for not givings "thumbs up" on your videos, but I really like them, the things is that I usually just see the video and then I go watch another one, but I hope to change that. If you don't mind, I have a question. Here in Portugal, the Corolla's I see with this body format/shape, the seller always says that it is a KE. My doubt is, are there only Corolla TE's, KE's, both or does the KE not exist? Also, I saw some cars saying they are KE's even though they look like TE's, just like this: senhoradahora.olx.pt/toyota-corolla-coupe-sl-ke-25-iid-459516759 Could you explain? By the way, geat work with the Wasabicars.com! Cheers!
A scrap Nissan R32GTR and a Toyota Soarer ready for scrap, I was speechless beacause where I live we have under a hundred of those 2 cars on the road :/
Hmm... Should i buy a brand new corolla or this rare levin? They cost the same actually... Daniel, this is probably something that nobody knows; the new yaris sedan of 2014 (i don't know if there is a replacement in japan that was the old belta) and no, not about a cheap car. Can you believe that the new one has a lot of 1980's toyota heritage? And by heritage i mean only by needlework, my celica for example has that "needlework" that is just molded in the plastic on the dash and goes through the rear of the interior, and under the velour side covers you find 3 vertical lines of sewing and guess what? The yaris has that too! I like those touches that toyota is discretely doing, and i'm not talking just on the 1986-9 celica, the carina ED and the supras had that too back then. I haven't got into another 2014 toyota, but i hope they did that touch in the new models, oh! You can see real sewing in the steering wheels and the seats, well, that's not so impressive but the molded plastic is. That's for someone that knows about old toyotas. Question of the day: well man, we don't waste cars and there are not junkyards, so i'll tell you what i saw yesterday: two nice coronas (the boxy ones from 1969 or near that; one with a toyopet grille) a mazda 323, the one you called unicorn, and a modern car that i love for some reason (must be because i got inferiority complex for being south american) not one, but three chryslers 300C. :S I guess that's all i have to say. :)
I was in Washington (UK) Galleries shopping centre last week and they a event on celebrating car production there of course there was a Nissan there a the factory is just down the road the also had the Clan Crusader rear engine fiberglass body 2 seater powered by a Hillman Imp engine also built in Washington . www.seriouswheels.com/images/a_1971_Clan_Crusader_2.jpg
Every wasabi cars video I watch the more i love the old school Japanese cars and scene!

Francis J Hi. I know the very car of which you speak. It is a beauty. Looks to be a non-factory shade of Moss green. It's a stunner though.
WasabiCars That's the one, I'm waiting for them to get me some pics of the panel between the drivers door and rear fender. I wanted to see if there is bondo/filler on the rear panel, other that that it appears to be pretty clean. I think that color was a factory option. diznutz1 I could send you a hi-res pic of that panel if you want. my email: kyushudan at yahoo dot com dot au
I had a beautiful second generation Celica in front of me in San Francisco the other night. I wish I could have taken a photo!
Often times I've been in that situation. Sometimes, I'll even have my camera with me and miss out. :(
i really like the look of that, love the over fenders and fat wheels, and when the sun hits it, the colour really pops, just beautiful :)
QOTD- i saw an original AC Cobra in the showroom of our local Ferrari & Maserati dealer, i didn't see a price, but i bet it wasn't cheap, lol.

Great post Danny and keep up the good work, we appreciate all the work you do.

That Corrolla would look great with a supercharged Lexus V8 in it hey Dan LOL!!!
DirtMcGirt BBJ Hahaha. Yeah, man. ;-)
Dang! That is expensive.
Wow I just love to see those roll as there awesome .I've got one restoring now thanks for those videos.
Wow! Love Corollas! Thank you for uploading....
This car reminds me of Puerto Rico when I was little.
From what I've seen, the TE27 is a car that'd be appreciated there.
WasabiCars yezzir. They throw rotaries in em and call em peanuts. We love the ke70 also between my dad and uncles they have owned 5. 'Yoga love... Family thing :)

Thats really nice Dan. Love the colour
Thanks

Hey, thank you. :)
+WasabiCars hi wasabi how can I get a T-shirt I live in Italy
Great video as always!
Thanks :)

It has been many years since I have been in a car yard, if you meant a wreckers...but I saw many examples of my current car...almost all of which suffered from head gasket failure.
Damn, that's a shame.
i swore a triumph spitfire the other day very cool looking car
Wow, amazing co-incidence. I most definitely did see a Triumph Spitfire the other day. It was rusty & sad; perfect for Wasabicars. :)
Oooh those STI's in the background.
Lol. I didn't notice them. Not Wasabicars material.
Haven't seen any car yards in Alaska or Canada here, but I have seen many abandoned cars in yards in Alaska! :)
You have?!?! Sweet. :)
Here in nz I saw a l/h drive early rx7 imported from America was an unusual sight
Wow. Yes, very unusual.
You have info on the car yard? I wanna find out if the car is still for sale? thx mate
The levin looks good, but that sprinter tureno looked sooooo much better. That was a beautiful looking car. I love Z's but that car was up there with them. Cant wait for stickers, i want to put one on my z
Hang in there. They'll happen one day. ;-)
Right there with you man. Same here, ill be slapping one of them stickers on my Z car as well.

$14621.30 right now.

Wow, I havnt been to a dealership since 2012 when my mum got our Ford Focus.... So I guess you could say, the last car I saw at a dealership was my Focus....
Wow. Not even driving past a dealership?
WasabiCars Well, driving past dealerships ive seen a shit tonne of cars. I thought you meant as in, actually going there to look at cars.
Brandon P Yes, just "saw". ;-)
woooo thanks for the money shot, that is a beautiful engine bay*! love those ITBs. hey that car's not even $20k in local money, this amazing vehicle would be more than worth it
*i just realized it's from a different car, still awesome
Lol, yeah. I felt I had to show an engine, and similar seemed better than none. :/
Google says that as of August 1st, 2014, it is $15,401 USD.
Thanks :)
Now that is a hot car! Qotd: Pepto pink Nash Metropolitan, my father about lost it when we spotted it.
Hahaha!
here's a random question do you like Chrysler Hemis or Nissan SR20DET engines?
I do like muscle cars, especially old Chryslers. The old ones from the 60's & 70's. Newer cars (and the Nissan SR20DET engine) don't hold any special meaning for me.

I think so. :)

Well, I do love steel-bumpered cars. But, I do hope to show more MX5's on Wasabicars. They certainly have their fans.
The car seem to have something done to the leaf spring attachments. They look very long.
Yes, there look to be some modifications there. I should've had a closer look.
WasabiCars that's a manual?
Hey Wasabi what type of car do you drive?
You know what? I have no picture of the gearstick to confirm that. I've never seen a TE27 that wasn't a manual though.
Man....dont hurt yourself I will figure that out my self I'll ask my Grandfather
So roughly 18k? Damn, its a beaut. Nice find man.
;-)
I did see a Toyota 86 at a car dealership
Wasn't quite as much a car lot as it was a Craigslist ad, haha. 2003 Infiniti m45, which is a rebadge of the Nissan m34 Cedric/Gloria. Actually, I like those a lot, and I still see quite a few around. They've got a great style about them.
Oh hey, awesome! When I first got it, I would study it from my kitchen window trying to come to grips with the design. Now, however, I really appreciate the handsome design. My neighbors apparently do, too haha.
Sweet Mango.
how much would that be in American dollars great video
+nelsona779 Please, google 'currency converter' or something like that.
qotd: there is a scrap yard near mine that has a citroen DS convertable. its been sitting for nearly 2 years. paint looks good but i know those old citroens rust from the inside out.
Amazing! Wow, seriously.. :(
yeah. they also have a 70's rolls royce that is primered with no grille and interior.
nice car! the best QOTD:500c in a toyota dealer
Fiat? I just googled it..
Nice vid and good car
Thanks :)

About $20k-$23k usd
1.580.000 Yens? Am I right?
Yes. :D
Thanks I've finally learned how it works.
OMG that trueno is sexy, so's the levin. wow..
I'll definitely do a video on a TE27 Trueno sometime. I know just the one too. :)
I saw a VW Beetle!
Cool. :)
About $16000 Australian
