Love watching your travel and especially your boat rebuilding skills. Its great to see an old yacht become like a beautiful butterfly from a crystalis.
Congratulations. We did that trip in a Westerly Corsair in 2006. We also had high winds about 2/3rds of the way across. I'm looking forward to more episodes. Fair winds!
Thanks, last time I did the West to East crossing in 2003 I had a lot of light winds but only short periods of light winds this time. I’ll try to keep going with some interesting content.
Thanks, I’m really pleased to have done a solo Atlantic crossing back to Europe (not just a trade wind blow across like the passage out). It was nice to share.
yes I watched it all. to be fair I was hoooked. to be able to video yourself and keep cool all the way is quite impressive. well done. now its time to watch all the rest.well done
Thank you, your videos are very interesting. I have been binge watching since discovering your channel. I love to travel without the conditions that you are putting up with. I guess that I am living vicariously at your expense.
Nice. Well done. Two years ago I was planning to do this leg (with a crew) after a Newport to Bermuda Race on my Grand Soleil 37. Did the routing several times on Expedition and thus it was very interesting to follow your weather discussions which were much like the Expedition was suggesting. But my plans changed and I was returning to Annapolis. Maybe another day. Thanks for this!
Brilliant, well done. Such a good down to earth and informative record of your trip with great decision making explanations. I really enjoy your clear and free sharing of your extensive knowledge and experience. Thank you.
Congrats George, I really enjoyed all of your videos, and thanks for sharing all the experiences, decision making, replanning, sail plans etc. Enjoy your well deserved time with the girls. I’ve subbed a few episodes ago and cannot wait for the next episode.
Thanks for filming, editing and posting this George. I'm a few years away from it yet, but I have ambitions to complete an Atlantic circuit when I retire. Watching you explain your weather decisions, talk about the highs and lows and see your problem solving as you go along is *really* interesting to me. Keep the videos coming please!
Thanks for watching and the kind comment. I plan (and have been asked) to do a follow up video about my weather sources and routing strategy so what will also be of interest to you I think. If you are subscribed you will get a notification when I upload that. Right now I’m just catching up with my partner and daughter who have flown out so video creation is on the back burner.
@@RefitandSail Hi George, thanks for a real live coverage of your trip so far. My boat lies in Croatia and I am planning to take her back this summer via Sicily with my family and then onwards to Spain with friends, and then back home to the Netherlands, Scheveningen, our home town. I would be very interested in learning more on your weather info setup. Where are you planning to sail to next?
Great content mate. I just bought my first boat and am getting my feet wet in sailing tho i have some backround at sea. One day ill cross over to the Caribbian but maybe not on my little 28 foot boat:P
@@RefitandSail Thanks for the answer. Yes, and I will start my cruise to the Azores and Madeira in a few weeks. There I will stay a few months and enjoy myself with my 'Contest 38s Ketch'. All the time good wind wherever your trip goes. Friendly greetings Thomas
@@RefitandSail you could do a lot worse than to look at Patrick Laine’s videos. He has it down to perfection without expensive tricks or drones, just a variety of content that is well scripted and delivered concisely. He’s built a well deserved huge following. Good luck, with your endeavours. It’s great to see a Sealord doing what she was built to do.
Looking forward to the next leg. I’ve done it from there to Oban ( not solo!) round the west coast of Ireland, but I assume you will be heading to South coast?
Great video series George
Great Job! I hope to cross from Nova Scotia to the Azores in a year and a half.
Look forward to watching more.

What a fantastic video, loved every it of it.
Bravo 🎉🍾🎊🎈 George 👏🏼👏🏼
Looking forward to you next video.
You can add a seventh viewer. An enjoyable and honest account of a cracking passage.

What an epic trek!
Yep, won’t forget it in a while. Still got to get back to the uk so 1200 miles or so still to go but enjoying the Azores for now.

Congrats from the Netherlands, well done!
Thanks, I sailed up to Amsterdam a couple of years back delivering a customers boat, would like to cruise up there on my own boat one day.

@@thomasescape3002 have fun, its possible we will pass each other if you sail direct to the azores.
Lovely boat. It would be good to see a little more of it and fewer talking head shots to camera.
Thanks, I’m learning as I go and yes, I need to get a bit more of the sailing in while I’m talking. I appreciate the advice.
