Non combativity (no touch in 1 mins) in third period led to one minute fence off. During one minute fence off, the Frenchmen had priority. This means in the case of a tie, the French win. Very smart use of rules. The Frenchman got the touch and let the bout finish.

What a close competition! I think gold should be given to both the teams!

The last point from France he stood up from his chair and it should've been a red card!

No....you don't have to be wheelshair bound as if you're paralyzed to be a chair fencer...you only have to be medically determined to not be able to fence able-bodied. He might have cerebral palsy, for example.

@@samsignorelli That's not what they meant. In wheelchair fencing, you have to keep at least one butcheek in contact with the wheelchair at all time.
OP makes the argument that, while pushing his lunge forward in the last touch, Romain Noble lifted both butcheeks off the wheelchair, which should have resulted in a yellow card (so a red card since it wouldn't have been his first one).

@@cptn_n3m012 I'm aware of the lifting rule...looks like the ref felt he DID have one cheek in the chair, tho.
I think I thought James was reacting to Noble walking around afterwards, not to a missed lifting call.
