  • While India races to become a major, global industrial nation and Bhutan endeavors to control the negative effects of economic growth, the Bengal tiger is fighting for its very existence -- with less than 3000 animals left in the entire world.
The kingdom of Bhutan sits high in the Himalayan mountains and is one of the most remote nations on earth. This peaceful nation, which just opened its borders and communication channels to the outside world, has a long feudal history. In fact, the countryside is dotted with medieval fortresses, testament to the many battles with armies coming over the mountains from Tibet. The country was not truly unified until 1907 under its first king. The present monarch is 5th in this line.

Great video !!! One correction needed at 9:30 - B for Baadshah (while describing B2) - Baadshah means empiror/King in Urdu/Hindi and not a Baby.

The narrator said 'Bachha' not 'Baadshah', and it does mean a kid in Hindi. Her pronunciation might have tricked you. :-)

It would be much nicer to use the tgers names instead of b17 for example. Sounds very clinical. Like a boring report is being read aloud.

Beautiful video. Like the remoteness of Bhutan. But the tiger situation looks really dire as population hit 1.3 Gig. Majority of them surviving through subsistence farming. Thus leaving less and less as habitat for the wildlife.

Given that each male tiger need large territory for itself, and competition for land from the evergrowing human population, the tiger population is worrying. Why, for goodness sake, cant some tigers be relocated to less populated areas of other countries in an international collabration?

The population figures of 1 million of the noncitizen in Bhutan is incorrect and moreover 99% are Nepalese not Tibetan. There is just couple of thousand Tibetan at most in Bhutan as most of them have left Bhutan in 1980-90 to India.

Look I do not want to see Tigers/Any Animals with submissive sexual collars on, and you name the tiger an AIDS nickname, PATHETIC. PS: those collars are way to big and hinder movement/the hunt and the tiger call!!!!!!!!

Game hunting by British almost made the Indian Lion extinct . Due to foresight by the local ruler , the last Lions of India , numbering less than 20 , were saved . Due to intense protection , there are 600+ Indian Lions which are found in Gir Forest of Gujarat state .
We cannot allow Our Other Big Cat , the Tiger to become extinct . As it is , they are extremely endangered due to habitat loss and poaching for body parts being supplied to Chinese markets .
