Banh mi has been one of my favourite sandwiches. I remembered how i needed to have one when i visited HCM City. Im glad that we are able to get good banh mis here in singapore. Thank you for featuring this good ol' classic sandwich!
I still prefer those Banh Mi patronize by local and not those with lot of tourist , I have my favorite hidden gem Banh Mi in Hanoi is at the roadside alley , non tourist spot 😊
Road kill is better than any American chain food. It's a real concern to see SO MANY ONE USE PLASTIC BAGS ARE STILL HIGHLY CONTRIBUTING TO GLOBAL POLLUTION. TRAGIC.😧😔
Bold claim but no, it hasn't taken over the rest of Asia. I love a good banh mi but it's hardly popular outside the Chinese demography even among your neighbours in Malaysia, and it's actually harder to even find decent (and not overpriced) Vietnamese food in China the further north you go.
@@xxxcool2565 I believe so. Banh Mi without Vietnamese sausage, cold cut, meat balls... will be close to a disaster. How could it appreciated in any Islamic countries?
They need to takeaway the sweet watery sauce and replace it with something less watery but creamy. It makes the bread taste weird like soaking bread with water. It should taste better..
@@khangaroo8166 the watery sweet chilli sauce, most comments I got from foreigners something more creamy will be better as bread absorbs water that make the bread taste soggy. Like soaking bread in water, anyway it is just my personal opinion that I feel will improve the overall presentation and taste of Banh Mi. In fact I particularly like Vietnamese Banh Xeo, one of the most under-rated local food of Southern Vietnam. The one that is made from Bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, pork belly and a little bit of shrimps...yummy😋
@@2-worlds-on-earth I mean, the bánh mì I grew up eating didn’t have any chili sauce (except unless you wanted to add it) but instead had Vietnamese Mayo and some butter, I think that would suit you well. Bánh Xèo is very underrated, it’s just a shame it’s not popular internationally because of the limited exposure :(
@@khangaroo8166 I live in Canada for more than 15 years. Banh Xeo is not available in most Vietnamese restaurants here. Reason? High cost of ingredients and maybe it takes time to cook. That's also no Banh Cuon either one of my favorite dish.
@@thumtlnguyen3626 That’s true, in Vietnam the cost of fresh ingredients are low and more common. The stalls usually focus on one or two specific dishes. Adding more difficult to make foods on the menu would increase the price and make it much harder to keep cook times low.

That's only because its not halal.

Other than China its popular. Chinese dont tend to like anything Vietnamese lol…. Even in Australia and NZ its popular, theyre not too far from Asia

Lived in Viet Nam for about 10 years, bánh mì is the fooking best.
How's it different from French baguette or pain de mie?
Banh mi is so underrated
Great job!
When since banh mi is popular in Singapore lmao, not much people here eats it
Its freakin expensive in SG for a good one, all foods that come here all price inflate, hate it
Je suis français et notre "Banh Mi" est dégueulasse🤢. Le Banh Mi vietnamien est le meilleur du monde.👍

What are you talking about? Is it fish sauce? Usually we don’t eat it with a “sweet water sauce”, or fish sauce

Lots of crumbs dropping all over the streets which feeds all the giant rats I witness at Vietnam
There are no crumbs droppins in New York city and rats in New York become an alarming matter too. How do you explain that?
