We're customers of this shop. My hubby’s great grand mother was his fan.. their 豆沙酥is the best.. a Hokkien tradition. Theirs are soft yet not soggy and not too sweet Well-known in Chinatown Kids nowadays don’t appreciate such snacks.. what a pity
I do see comments from time to time about children not taking over their parents shops. I feel like people tend to forget their parents worked very hard so their children wouldn't need to. Ultimately, their parents would love to see their children take over but they also realise that they never wanted them to work as hard as them. I have met people who's parents won't let them work in their business as children and adults now. Not because they don't need the help but they don't want to get them into the business. These businesses of sort work very hard and the money they make almost do not equate to the amount of effort they put in. We must realise that this was bound to happen eventually. All they can do is keep with times, increase their price and hope people appreciate the traditional methods. I think the issue here is not the money leh. I think. Issue here is the people behind it are ageing so they feel it is about time to call it a day, since their lease is up. So kinda pointless to invest and all, if the people behind are no longer the same. Worse - it will ruin the reputation if new ppl can’t do properly.
