    Thanks for this post!!! Charles Ingersoll was my dad. He passed Nov. 4, 2014. He was a musical genius. He's probably smiling in heaven knowing that the fans below appreciated the music.

      Good morning Kienji, sorry to hear about your father’s passing, I’m going to be 64 and the Younghearts were one of my favorite groups, I grew up in Orange County and my alarm clock for High School was tuned to AM 1580 K-Day and Me and You, was a song they always played and also FM Kute-102 also would play there songs Dedicate(my life to you) is to this day still one of my favorite songs. Even though they only had 5 albums, the Avco album was never released which is sad, for the short time they recorded there music was impactful in so many ways. I’m grateful that I was a teenager in the 70’s because that era along with the 80’s the bands and the groups were some of the greatest ever, I’m sure your Dad and Bobby are singing together again in heaven 🙏

      Have mercy! I am appalled and disheartened to read that Charles Ingersoll died. The deaths of so many singers and musicians are "burning me up" that I feel like I would lose my appreciation to this fine music. Anyway, the radio stations are not playing it anymore. Instead, they have rap, hip-hop, modern R&B, and all that other "new" music that cannot even "talk" to me.😢

    The Younghearts never got the recognition that was due them. They deserve to be ranked with the Delfonics,Intruders& Manhattans as one of the great Soul "Guy" groups of the 70's. This song demonstrates the vocal & musical range of The Younghearts.. Though this was a Billboard Top 100 Soul hit in 1972 it also was a mix of Soul & Be-Bop with a little Skatt. Listen to the Soulful & truly meaningful monologue which is just as pertinent today as it was 41 yrs.ago. It is so sad that this talented trio did not receive the commercial success that was due them. Job well done guys. Rest In Peace Bobby Solomon(19 Nov 44 - 30 May 75) & Frank Edward hayes,Sr.(19 Aug 42 - 3 Sept 2007) you're both gone but not forgotten.

      I missed this song and its title from 1972, until I heart it on RUclips. The first song I heard by the Younghearts is "Don't Crush My World." I heard it played at a small record store in my hometown. I heard "Do You Have the Time" on WBLS 107.5 FM, but I think that the radio station "gave up the ghost" by not continuing to play this fine music.

      @@septiawoman2911 Today, many record manufacturers are not producing these works on digital discs anymore. We would be fortunate if the songs were processed on to new and [virgin] vinyl. In fact, I learned on RUclips that the music is stored digitally on MP-3, and the radio stations are playing the music through microcomputers, instead of record discs, CDs, and tapes. Now that I know that the title is "Do You Have the Time," since I first heard it on WBLS 107.5 FM in 1972, it is my second favorite song. My first favorite has been "Don't Crush My World."

      +Vanrssa Wise Could not agree more Vanessa, lets just say my copy stuck to someones fingers, and they wouldn't let go. Had to get on to the Raregrooveman to give me the handle still. Absolutely fantastic track, but there is a lot of good stuff out there if you know what you're looking for. Digressing quickly what part of the world are you in? as folk that know much about the type of music that interests me, come from some quite unexpected places, ie Germany, Sweden, Canada, China and so on, and to be honest I did not know the tentacles of soul and unreleased R&B was so far reaching. Ps if your in London, you might have my copy lol. 1 love still.

    • @Godsadvoc8
      @Godsadvoc8 9 лет назад +2

      +Vanrssa Wise Shooting for the stars now Vanessa, but how good is your knowledge of early to mid 90's R&B Em-Cee, Juice, Sa Deuce?, as I am still on the hunt for something I have only heard on these blue and white labels that were flying about London in the mid to late 90's, and if people share tastes, then there is a remote possibility that they might know some of the more obscure tracks that were never released, or just never got any kind of airplay, because the (so called) right people couldn't exploit their talent. in short I tire of many of those 'Best of' as I have heard most of those pop songs to the point of nausea, and i'll not name names. Anys, enough said, if you check out my good grooves 1, I am certain yuou will find 1 or 2 tracks you may want to add to the list, as good music is for everybody still. Hold it up still.

      It is 2018 and I still play this song and others from the album. I was living in Cali when I was introduced to this song/album and shortly discovered and met Bobby Solomon's wife who was living in the same apartment complex.. He had passed away. Me, and his wife, Mary Solomon became BFFs. At the end of 2017, I BEGAN to search for her and discovered that she, too, has passed away. . . This song, in my lowest of times, has lifted my spirits and reminded me that Do You Have the Time? And, it lifts me up and I realize that "I ain't time for that" -- to waste my life away or give up for any reason. lynda cunningham-hamilton on FB!

    I saw the Younghearts in 68 in Watts at a park. We were the only white boys there! Completely out of place, but I love the Younghearts.

    Come on give credit to the real young heart producer and the creator my brother Bobby Sanders he work his heart out to be the original one to bring us the original. Ones out of LA I remember my not only giving these young the chance to be the original but his name should be given the credit where credit is due. But I know who and what Bobby Sanders did to created and originate the orginal young hearts.
