Very hard to believe this is the same planet as the one that I live on. Difficult to see why anyone would choose to live here. I thought that I knew all about the world but this video proves that I don't. Thanks ♥
You can usually tell how much people love where they live and wether it is a nice place to go by the amount of rubbish by the railway. The more rubbish the less they love where they live and the less likely it is a nice place to visit.
Well, 60km/h in Bolivia is quite an achievement (compared to other active lines). But yes, if Lithium mining and could bring in the investments, this line could be fixed quite nicely, though as cargo would be main application, speeds up to 80km/h would probably suffice. There are amazing meter-gauge lines in Brazil transporting huge amounts of ores, minerals and agricultural produce so it is possible to operate even heavy trains on lines like this.
Such a shame the camera overheated when it did... the scenery at the beginning of the video was nowhere near as spectacular as the end... Great video again though. It would have been an even bigger shame not to have shown what you did manage to record
@bigcasey4143 Thank you. I appreciate that you understand my position. It was exactly what I was thinking...should I discard the video because of those last few minutes? It was quite a trip that I made to film the route. The next two videos will be outstanding.
I hoped to see some new Stadler SALi locomotives - three SALi (South America Light - meter-gauge CoCo locos adapted to rather poor track condition) locomotives were delivered by Swiss Stadler (thought they are built in Spain as it is former Vossloh) to Ferroviaria Andina some 5 years ago, and they are typically based in Uyuni - thought they primarily operate between one of world's biggest Zinc mines (San Cristobal) and Avaroa on the border with Chile (to Antofagasta) so this is on that other line when leaving Uyuni. Railbus we are travelling in was built by Ferrostaal, just type in FCA Ferrostaal 337 and You will be able to find more info and photos of this vehicle.
Unfortunately You don't care much about trash when Your primary worry is not being hungry tomorrow. Only when You are don't know what hunger, poverty and scarcity is You can start thinking about the future and how aesthetic Your surroundings are.
@@ZvonimirZelenika That may well be. Still, polluting your surroundings and destroying your health while at it... not the best strategy for poverty-exit.

Reminds me of American Southwest - long stretches of wide open!
@LordDustinDeWynd 😊
The railroad is so straight that High Speed Trains could be used on it.

Дуже не звичні ландшафти,не такі як у Європі.
@ЮліанЮрійович Yes, it is very different. The Altiplano has an altitude of around 3600 m.

Beautiful but desolate landscape.
