Great guide! Thank you. I laughed a bit when you called her sword a yo-yo. If anyone hasn’t watched the show, Blake’s weapon is a sword that con fold into a gun which can double as grappling hook. The sword is attached to a very long ribbon which she will use to swing from things or flip and spin it. Her sheath is also a sword.
I've been having a lot of fun with her. I run Noel alongside, not sure if that's a decent synergy...all I know is screw Tager - Waldstein teams with their command grabs.
I play them too and I love how Noel's rushdown can make up for Blake's bad matchups. Instead of covering her weakness against rushdown, I just swap her out and cheese people with Noel's drive combos with that sweet sweet neutral Assist from Blake for extentions.
And is also a pistol, which she can use to either shoot or launch her weapon far to use as a grappling hook, she gets pretty creative with it in the series.
@@ryukenxx2 a couple years late, but id like to clear this up for ya: blake's semblance by itself is a useless shadow clone, and that is how she uses it most of the time. when combined with dust, the clone can form out of ice, rock, an explosive afterimage, etc.
Groisu yeah, Framewhisperer has awesome guides. Ridiculously in-depth but also practical information and to-the-point. I don't want to seem like I'm ungrateful for what Koe does though, it's great what he's doing for the game.
I cant believe someone else thought of Blake and Chie. This video is gonna help a lot with my Blake game. Especially after learning more about her clones.
As a person who does a Blake/Gordeau team myself, yes Gordeau has a lot of tools to help Blake and likewise. Like her pull-in with one of her assists can help into a combo and her other one with the quick two hits can bring into a close set up. Guess it's just fun with these two.
I found the name of the music. It's "Will Be Venus", from the game Mega Dimension Neptunia VII. That's why it sounded so familiar...Neptunia is awesome! Here's a link to the soundtrack: ruclips.net/video/YcTPTxCcthQ/видео.html
Yo @Koefficient When you are talking about her 214A mix-ups i think i might know something you don't about it depending on which side Blake is on the Opponent with the B and C Follow-Ups it will decide what side she attack from so if you mash out the follow ups it will be a cross-up but if you delay until she is on the other side it will be the mix-up same side attacks. Basically TL:DR When you do 214A if blake is on the Right side when you followup with B or C she will attack from the Left, but if she is on the left side when you press the followup she will attack from the Right.
Shadow Clone could lead to some very dirty mix-up if they decide to buff it even just a little. It's very dangerous when you can't see the opponent clearly in a tag game like this. I agree it's really hard to use effectively tho.
great guide, feel like you might have missed some things on how her 214 moves in the air cause opponents to slide on the ground to be picked up by a assist or how her 214C can sometimes be combo after
i feel like you spend way too much time on what the moves are and not enough on how the moves are used. also 214C has upper body invul so it works as an AA. and midscreen is not the same as midrange Good luck on the rest of the guides!
Hey Koe I just wanted to tell you that Blake’s 214 C the ex one you can end combos in it (assuming the combos not to long obviously) and do the A follow up and when you land you’ll have enough time to mash A for a pick up which can lead into super
He missed one thing that I noticed playing Blake. If you airdash (might just be forward movement) Before doing J.C. She'll teleport far more forward for the J.C. It could just be 6J.C or 66J.C
Im using her with Makoto, and Makotos assists pair well with her. Im just trying to find some synergy with her assists for makoto but im liking the team
Did you just say Marth? Hmm 🤔time to lab when I get the chance. Also Koefficient, I wonder if you have done a Linne or Yosuke guide. Regardless, I am going to sub for all the latest cross tag news now.
Amazing guide. Subscribed. I'm really struggling with fire/shadow clones? What is the optimal ranges for them? I keep either go too close and get punished or go too far and the opponent just avoids it.
So like, does the stone clone let autocombos continue? Because Nu's daggers have a funky tracking effect on personas (from what I've seen), does this happen on the Stone clone?
I'm struggling with hitting the high jump cancel j.B after 5B tipper. Any tips for that cancel timing? Does it involve the timing of the first j.B after 5AAAA? Do I need to mash it out, or delay it. Been trying it for hours and maybe get it only once every 20 tries or so. Any tips would be appreciated
I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong but after the twirl->b, 5b isn’t picking up right after. Is it a buffer, because even analyzing you button inputs it’s still not coming thru
One question I have: during her AAABB combo sometimes my opponent will ukemi after the first B. is there a timing that I can improve on to prevent this?
Not definitive but you can use the forward motion from the clone specials to avoid air to ground approaches when the opponent gets smart and if they hit shadow, fire, or stone they'll still be in the animation while you have time to space yourself. If they hit a stone clone you can just punish with a smart combo.
I'm 1:25 minutes into your 41 minute video and you've pretty much said the same sentence three times in a row and not even with any variation in vocab. I don't know if that's a good indicator of the video as a whole but lord knows I'm not sticking around to find out after that intro.
Can you make one for Rachel or Makoto in the near future, please? i know Makoto well but a little extra advice won't hurt but Rachel is another story, i can't seem to make her work in this, in the BB series i can do work.
I'm picking up rachel in this game as well. It'll probably be a while before he gets to BB characters, but this vid is super useful and probably what your looking for ruclips.net/video/gd5LH3Q11yU/видео.html

I mostly play rush down characters and I'm so bad at spacing that I got punished most of the time because of it. I play Blake to train my spacing, then got my ass kicked quite a bunch...
Honestly i think one of Blake's worst matchups is hazama. All he has to do is hit blake once with his snake and he is right up next to her Then do a combo or two and you have one dead blake.
Awesome guide, really wish she had ice clone as like a parry instead of smoke clone its kinda lame. Or move fire clone to B and make the ice clone the EX version.
Personally, I think Blake goes too well with Jin. I've been training with her a bit, and Jin is the only character I tried that properly complimented her skills. Blake is also the RWBY character I liked the most of between the current 3. They may become one of my main "couples" in the game(Male/Female teams) yet. I still need to get used to this game's feel and all that, the lack of freedom to use certain attacks which used to be skills make the game seem strange on multiple levels.
It's called a Kusurigama, or chain scythe if that's too much of a mouthful, it is absolutely not and never ever will be a yo-yo. guides are awesome anyway, thanks!
She's not the first one with a move like this. You deal. You can jump, block to avoid pressure, use assists to save you, etc. All the usual stuff. Complaining that a move is broken does nothing to help you learn.
Vewixa Have you played against her? It takes little to no effort to use her. On a team with Gord and Wald. It's just...Why? Can't deal with it that easily
Glenn Vatista Have you played against Nu or Es? They're greatly considered to be absolute bullshit but they're not gonna be any less bullshit in the foreseeable future so what people did people do? They adapted. Every single game is gonna have easy characters that dominate, it's unavoidable. What you should do is go into training mode and try and figure out how to deal with her moveset in theory, and then fight all the Blake players you can. Study up on her frame data to see which of your moves beat her's. If the matchup is a big problem for you, then all you gotta do is put some effort in to actively get used to her bs. It takes a while, but it's not impossible.
Vewixa Don't you think I tried that. Training mode doesn't mean much against real players. Problem isn't the matchup. It's what she does overall. Just like Weiss and her safe moves.
Glenn Vatista sometimes you can play stupid, or learn how Blake players generally act. If you know what they try to go for, you can learn how to avoid or punish it. With playing stupid, pressuring them constantly will force them to either DP, or Burst. Knowing how both of those work can help you get in and get damage. (I’d like to add that I don’t consider myself great or even good at this game, but I’ve been watching this stuff for a while, and there are things I’ve noticed. Again, this may not help you, but it’s something.)
i laugh so hard when you said "it like marth" not because i got problem with marth clone or something like that but Blaike JP VA is the Same with Lucina JP VA, another marth clone also hello fellow marth player
Hello fellow Marth players.

I've not been able to get the game yet, but when I do, I plan on her being one of my mains. Also, she just looks so awesome anyway!
At 28:13 is when he talks about her gameplan. Before is just her moveset and assists.

but like, every rwby character is underaged

Her weapon is actually a Shinobigatana(katana) that can turn into a Kusarigama(whip-scythe)
Bloodborne

Well she doesn't have one in the series so yeah rofl
HopeOfBlossom She did use one, she never had that useless shadowclone.
She used it tho, along with a lot of other clone variations with the dust Weiss gave her on the train fight.
She's used an ice clone twice in the show (V2 and V5) and a lot of times in the canon RWBY game Grimm Eclipse as a mechanic

Bright Light ya, but her finish compared to Blake’s and Wiesss is more from chapter 8 rather then the trailer.
There trained to fight monsters, not necessarily people. So they finnish them like monsters
Keep in mind koe, her 214 moves are also great for ppl trying to jump in on her.
