Believe me folks. I nailed it. Got 195 out of 195 just now. Of course this was possible after more than 25 times repeated watching ( at 2x speed) for several weeks, writing down difficult countries capital names and then memorizing, practicing with UN official website list etc. The multiple choice version makes it a bit easier with educated guesses. Hope Taiwan, Kosovo and Palestine get full UN membership soon (politics apart) and perhaps Western Sahara and Tamil Eelam in the far future. ❤❤❤❤❤ the 🌎.
There are 54 countries in Africa, 48 in Asia, 44 on Europe, 18 in North America, 17 in South America and 14 in Oceania, the 6 habitable continents of the World. As of now 27 countries have been members of the European Union.

True South Africa has three capitals.
There are 193 member states in the UN and 2 non member but recognized as independent states namely Palastine and Holy See, Vatican City. Taiwan is a territory of Peoples Republic of China (aka Mainland China) and not a sovereign nation.

Got about 177 but lost count towards the end. Some errors in the questions, Taiwan is recognised by the UN as part of the Peoples Republic of China and so is not a country. Also where the presenter had no picture of the country concerned he showed a map but in each case the capital was clearly identified as such,

The Ivory Coast capital is given by Wikipedia as Yamoussoukro whereas The Encyclopaedia Britannica states that Abidjan is the de facto capital and Yamoussoukro is the administrative capital designate (since 1983). I prefer to believe the Encyclopaedia Britannica on this point as it is written by experts whereas Wikipedia contributions come from many people without the knowledge to comment accurately.

I only made one capital mistake. Koror used to be Palau's capital. Now, it's Ngerulmud. The new Burindi's capital is Gitega. It is not Bujumbura anymore

Some of the Capital Cities have changed since I left High School years ago, and some of the places I never heard of them. Forget about those places, ending in "Stan" I was confused..Had No problems with the North/South America, the Caribbean Countries or Australia, otherwise it was very Interesting.

QuizzyQuest, after my last post this AM, I've been further checking on some things that I figured you'd appreciate knowing. First, Wikipedia says Maldives is a region, not a country. Next, because it's odd, it's worth knowing: the country of Kiribati is pronounced KEER-ih-bass, with syllable 3 rhyming with the fish; also Palestine and Micronesia are definitely not countries.
I think you need to check your sources. Both Maldives and Micronesia are countries according to the UN website. Wikipedia is a great place to start, but the UN is definitive source as to who are recognised as countries and who are not.
By the way please do not argue that the country is the Federated States of Micronesia, because the full name of Australia is the Commonwealth of Australia. No one would argue that Australia is not a country because we do not use its full name. We use the shortened name for many countries.
Although the point about Kiribati’s pronunciation is well made. It is tricky, but it is reasonable to do the research.
Most countries do not recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, but consider it to be Tel Aviv.
Since when do other countries get to decide a nation's capital?
@@darrellklutey9775 When the capital is on a piece of contested land, that has been fought over for millennia and most countries in the UN think Israel is occupying illegally that is East Jerusalem.Most countries will not place their embassies in Jerusalem, to avoid inflaming tensions in the Middle East about the status of Jerusalem.

There are few countries (like Palestine, Taiwan or for example Kosovo) that are not accepted by some, but Vatican is fully independent and accepted

There are 197 independent countries, you left two out.

QuizzyQuest, the #2 syllable of Namibia is 'mib', rather than 'meeb'. Micronesia = 'micro' as in small +'nesia' as in Poly-nesia, i.e., KNEE-zhuh; #69 is HAY-tea, not hah-EE-tea; Guyana is guy-AH-nah, not goo-YAH-nah; Papua (New Guinea) is POP-wah, or at least, that's how I've always heard it, including when I was there; Lesotho = leh-SUE-to.
I got 26 wrong, for an 87% accuracy rate. Also, this is the first I've heard that Tanzania's capital moved from Dar es Salaam to Dodoma, and the first I'd heard that Palestine has an official capital.

Taiwan snd Kosovo are listed but it is not recognized by the UN. Palestine is accepted as (194) a sovereign nation but without full membership.Vatican city is the same (recognized as country but without membership).

Wait, if Taiwan, Palestine, Vatican etc made it to the list, then why not Western Sahara(in North-west Africa). Western Sahara is fully recognised by Organisation of African Unity(which is African Union now) but not the UN.
Countries such as Mexico, Venezuela, Iran, Vietnam, Nigeria, South Africa etc do recognised Western Sahara(India too but they withdrew their recognition in 2000.
