My favorite part is how Britta getting an iPod Nano was a payoff to a joke from season two. From the episode where the young kids came to Greendale and kept making fun of them, saying "Schmitty" all the time and Jeff tried to sleep with their mom? At the end, when you got the Animal House-style popups saying what people went on to do in the future, Britta's was: "Britta Perry, used iPod Nano owner, 2014." This episode where Pierce bequeathed her his used iPod Nano aired in 2014.
As soon as he handed her the iPod I just new it was a reference, there was other references that showed how broke and old of a spirit Britta had but that joke was perfect. I loved that episode, SHMITTTTAAAH
Rewatching community with you guys during quarantine, this is by far my favourite episode just the cast sitting at "the table" bouncing funny lines off of eachother a perfect send off for Pierce imo.
"To you I leave this bottle of fine scotch... So that you're less tempted to drink this cylinder of even finer sperm." Definitely my favorite line of the episode. I still say it every now and then to this day.
Also because it had Troy but no Pierce. The only thing that wasn't quite perfect was that there was no Dean part in this episode, so Rash read the polygraph tester part.
You are in for a treat my friend. I discovered this show in a similar way too back in 2011. My brother had shown me a clip of the pilot. It intrigued me but I soon forgot it because I'm Australian and it wasn't advertised or aired on a main channel. Months later I was bored and remembered that clip. I started scouring RUclips. Couldn't find it. Went and annoyed my brother until he worked out what show it was. Then I went and started watching clips of the show. I ended up watching every clip on RUclips I could find, devoured every scrap of information from the Community website, I had picked my favourite character (Britta), I knew the arcs of the seasons, and I knew all about all the actors within probably a week. Pretty soon I was a diehard fan and made a Twitter account just to follow the actors and was drawing portraits of the characters. This was before I even OWNED a single season of the show and had probably seen about three random actual full episodes in poor quality because someone had posted them. For Christmas that year I asked for both seasons. Community ended a few months before I graduated from year 12 (I had been at the same school since year 7) and I was sadder about the show ending then leaving school hahaha It represented the era of adolescence and childhood ending for me more than graduating did.
Goggin's deadpan humor here always kills me, but just noticed the headturn and look he give Troy when he says he has never been to LegoLand. Incredible.
Funny thing is, in the first episode, they keep saying "Bottle episode" so that one is obvious but the second one, at the very beginning of the episode, they just all come in holding "bottles" of Pierce lol somewhat more subtle then just blurting it out and yet very much on the nose lol
I love this episode but I wish Abed had been given something. I feel like if they did the scene from the video game episode that Chevy Chase refused to film it, it would've given them more of a relationship.
Walt Goggins is in Justified and he's amazing in it. I would say that show is the reason Quentin Tarantino cast him in The Hateful Eight. I'm also going to guess that show is the reason Timothy Olyphant and Damon Herriman are both in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
I understand Britta. I went to a church wedding "under the influence of toxins" back in the day once, because it's honestly the only way I can get through church stuff
Walton Goggins is also in Justified, with Timothy Olyphant. Amazing show, very underseen. It doesn't start all that well, I'd say it only gets really good near the end of the first season, but after that, it's excellent. Highly recommend it. Tarantino is also clearly a fan, considering he cast Goggins in Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight, and Olyphant and Damon Herriman (who'll play Charles Manson) in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Sorry for the sales pitch, but the show is too good, it should be seen by more people.
Walton Goggins is fucking awesome. Playing in roles like Justified, Sons of Anarchy, Django Unchained, and Hateful 8. He's hilarious here because of the way he asked the ridicules questions while being professional. Then in the end when he gets drunk and goes nuts. He is definitely my favorite white country boy from Alabama.
If you guys ever get the chance (and if you haven't done it already), I highly recommend watching the live reading of this episode that the cast did for a fundraiser in 2020. The funniest part is the fact that the guy that asks all the questions couldn't make it and they got Pedro Pascal to fill the role instead and he couldn't get through the sperm jokes without laughing his ass off.
I think the 'Childish Tycoon' was a reference to Donald, and everything said about Troy and Pierce's relationship seem to reflect what was said about their real life one by Dan Harmon; he mentioned Chevy might've been jealous of Donald and recognised his star quality from the get go. Also a lovely way to send him off, saying spread his success all over the world and what not (as Childish Gambino)
If those are the things you know Walton Goggins from, then you must watch Justified. Where he plays one of the greatest tv characters ever. Boyd is easily in the top 10 of best tv characters ever. Tony Soprano, Walter White, Boyd Crowder, Vic Mackey, Tywin Lannister, Jimmy McGill, Omar Little, Titus Pullo, Frank Reynolds and Ragnar Lothbrok.
Walton Goggins was in justified. He played a fucking BADASS bad guy! One of the most underrated shows of all time IMO. You guys should react to an episode or two and see if u like it.
i just wanna point out that a lie is when you make a claim is true(or false) when in reality you believe that claim to be false(or true). i.e. when you say the opposite of what you believe. it has no relation to what is actually true. for example if you believe vader said "luke, i am your father" and you tell someone that he said that, you are not lying. you are wrong, because that's not what he says, but you are not lying because what you say matches what you believe. however if you believe he said that, but you claim he said "no. i AM your father". then you ARE lying. while saying something that is literally true. because what you say is the opposite of what you believe to be true. yeah. you can lie while saying something that is literally true, as long as you believe it to be false.
Walton fucking Goggins... I wonder how that dude isn't an A-lister yet. So much charisma. Last time Community had one of those, it was Josh Holloway. Lucky for Goggins, he's had a more interesting movie career than Holloway... but he can't play the bad guy in big blockbuster movies forever. He needs his own movies. Preferably dramas, of course... "He's in vice-principals"...? So that's what happens when you don't know much about things? :D
The girl who said Walton Goggins is from "vice principals" REALLY??? That is so insulting because his best work is from, The Shield, Justified and the Hateful 8. 🙄
This was easily my least favorite episode of the series. They killed off Pierce offscreen in a manner that was so un-Pierce-like. They sentenced Troy to death (though the next episode alleviated that somewhat). They turned the study group against one another yet again. They had Abed be more invasive than he's ever been before in just a really horrible way. The only positive aspect of this episode for me was the Britta iPod joke.

Season 1 but yes, it's such a minor piece of continuity yet they follow through on paying it off, fantastic
Cory Stanish that happended I season 1 buddy
As soon as he handed her the iPod I just new it was a reference, there was other references that showed how broke and old of a spirit Britta had but that joke was perfect. I loved that episode, SHMITTTTAAAH
A fitting bequeathment from Grandpa Schlipschlap.
Britta Perry: Proud Owner, Used Ipod Nano, 2014
Nailed it
"Cool. Cool cool cool."
"That's a lie".
One of the saddest moments in Community 😢
Not the saddest, but the darkest
Should have said "lie lie lie"
Rewatching community with you guys during quarantine, this is by far my favourite episode just the cast sitting at "the table" bouncing funny lines off of eachother a perfect send off for Pierce imo.
They will broadcast a live table read of this episode tomorrow at 2pm PT here on the community channel!
Table Mk II
"To you I leave this bottle of fine scotch... So that you're less tempted to drink this cylinder of even finer sperm."
Definitely my favorite line of the episode. I still say it every now and then to this day.
in what context could you ever say that?
Writing so strong, so hilarious, and so surprisingly heartfelt it was a natural (and successful) choice for their Zoom table read for charity.
Also because it had Troy but no Pierce. The only thing that wasn't quite perfect was that there was no Dean part in this episode, so Rash read the polygraph tester part.
This was the first episode of Community I've ever seen and it hooked me instantly
Really? Without know the characters, especialy Pierce, this episode would seem like nonsense to me.
The nonsense in community is what makes it the best
@@robertcorbett9455 from context I got he was an old pain in the ass sort of guy
You are in for a treat my friend.

This episode was a fitting sendoff for Pierce.
Pierce told Annie that Annie was Pierce's faviorate two times.
3 times. Hospital, 2nd paintball and here
Building the hype for Donald Glover's final episode.
Goggin's deadpan humor here always kills me, but just noticed the headturn and look he give Troy when he says he has never been to LegoLand. Incredible.
Just a heads up, Polygraphy is pronounced like Calligraphy, and this episode is the sequel to the pen episode Cooperative Calligraphy.
Oohh didn't notice this damn, both were bottle episodes, and among my favorite episodes
Funny thing is, in the first episode, they keep saying "Bottle episode" so that one is obvious but the second one, at the very beginning of the episode, they just all come in holding "bottles" of Pierce lol somewhat more subtle then just blurting it out and yet very much on the nose lol
10:53 That was dark as hell. Abed looks genuinely concerned that he didn't know how fucked up his actions were.
8:45. I LOVE how shocked and offended she is. Makes it seem so much more sacred.
Victor Russ
Walton Goggins is amazing.
If any of you haven't watched Justified, watch it now!
This. Please do this.
Also, The Shield.
@@OnionTaylorJoy The Shield was(is) great. That ending scene with Mackey is one of the greatest.
"I've been accused of being a lot of things. Inarticulate ain't one of 'em."
Also Vice Principals
I love this episode but I wish Abed had been given something. I feel like if they did the scene from the video game episode that Chevy Chase refused to film it, it would've given them more of a relationship.
Exactly
the Childish Tycoon is a reference to Pearce......he was the man child business tycoon...and also the boat
Childish Gambino 😉
Part of me still thinks Pierce faked his death and will return I'm the movie to complain about the group not inviting him to things.
TheBS1000 Justified was amazing. Walton Goggins was in Django before Hateful Eight tho
Troy always wanted to eat a ghost
This was the perfect send-off they could've had for Pierce without having him there.
"I've never been to Lego Land. I just wanted you guys to think I was cool." LMAO Me!
"Silence wench !!" Gets me everytime 😂
you need to react to the table read of this episode with pedro pascal
The floor is lava is next!
Your reaction to "those people" scene is just precious XD
If you like Walton Goggins you should check out Justified, guy's amazing in it.
The Shield and Justified are Walton Goggins best pieces of acting. Both high recommendations.
I got super annoyed they didn't know him from those. He is very good in both of them.
@@pulkmees I was applauding Rana for at least watching Vice Principals.. but yeah, they all should have known more
@6:43 Rana said, "bequeefments ?".
LOL
Love being back for community
I understand Britta. I went to a church wedding "under the influence of toxins" back in the day once, because it's honestly the only way I can get through church stuff
Walton Goggins was also in The Shield.
One of the great episodes that only gets better when you watch the cast reunion table read.
You guys should react to the Community reunion video where they do a script read of this episode. It's one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
Next episode is going to be 🔥 lit one of the best eps of the season next episode....
Please, you should react to the Community table read with all the cast and Pedro Pascal.
Walton Goggins.. you all need to react to Justified!
Easily my favorite bottle episode!
You guys should react to the zoom reading the cast did of this episode

watch justified, walton goggins played the best tv villain ive seen in ages
Alberto Valle Martínez He was also fantastic in The Shield.
Can’t wait for next week
At exactly the 10:00 mark, Rana proved that she was my spirit animal in a past life lmao
The Ass Crack Bandit was mentioned in the Intro to Political Sciences episode in Season 2 by Annie in the debate
The Shield & Justified you fools!

For the record the funeral did not have a body.

Pat, you need your beard back. This is too much for me.
oh hell yes , I dont like any of the Normies men with out beards well excepted for Mikey he just fine
