    This was touching documentary. We've also lost a bandmember do the cause of cancer. He suddenly announced that he had this thing in him and treatments started. He came to rehearsals, even when weak, but that was the thing he really wanted to do with his whole heart. And then sort of suddenly we received a text message from his misses, that he had slept away. After a little time we met in the rehearsals and debated about wether go on or bag the instruments. We had a strong feeling, that our friend would have said: "Well, fuck! Of course you keep playing!". So we did. I have sometimes imagined him standing with us and grinning with his guitar on his strap. We have good memories about him and that's a thing to be glad about.

      So sorry for your loss. Cancer can be a bitch. My father is battling with stage iv cancer, and it's literally eating us up from the inside... i knew Architects since 2012, but only started listening to them more since May. Stay strong! @galactic criminal: I've said it before but i'll say it again. Love your genuine reactions, you are such a cool person. I hope you react to the full "Holy Hell" album. This particular song was made with our later guitarist. His's playing the second guitar. There's three other songs also, that's been made after he passed away. And just for everyone's notice, this is a hobby for us. We're a band of three, not doing gigs or selling our music. We do this for the love of playing, composing and possibility to record our creations and share them with our friends. Be free to comment. Enjoy!

    Great reaction. I didn't know about architects until just before doomsday dropped, but god I wish I had known them sooner. This hit me so hard i legitimately cried at the end when Sam broke down mid show. I would give anything to see them live and have nothing but the absolute of respect for these men and what they're doing. Keep up the good work mr. criminal.

    It is incredible the amount of raw emotion that is tied to this band. I've been listening to them for 10 years now and remember seeing them live in Las Vegas when they were on tour with Parkway Drive and Bring Me The Horizon shortly after they released their "The Here and Now" CD. That CD definitely was a change from their earlier records, but it showed a lot of growth. Sadly, the crowd definitely wasn't into it as much as I was, but I'm sure that would be different these days considering its 7 years later and a few more CDs. Anyways, kudos to you for being brave enough to show your legitimate reaction to this documentary. I respect the fact that you held it together. I, personally, broke down a couple times and shed some tears. Absolutely incredible band with a very heartfelt, REAL documentary. RIP Tom.

    Hey I am not sure if you'll get to see this comment but I feel its kinda important to write it. I'm what I'd guess you'd call a long time fan of the band architects. I was introduced to them by a friend in college 2007/2008 with I'd guess you'd call it their first "proper" album Nightmares. I was hooked after a few listens and to be honest its kinda been like that for me throughout all the years. I did struggle quite a bite with the Here and Now (I'm going to guess you will too, certainly if you start off by listening to their earlier stuff and perhaps follow through chronologically to get an idea of their changes which is probably a good idea to be honest!)
    But anyway, I totally get its hard to sometimes get a song the first time round if its not exactly what you expect or want to hear. I mean nearly every release of theirs has taken me a good 4 or 5 times of almost forced listening for it to finally click for me. I can remember hearing all of our gods have abounded us, and I think it was Gone With the Wind and I can't remember exactly what I thought, but it was along the lines of "oh its some sort of mellow dramatic fell sorry for myself and the world around me song...." now considering how much of a fan I was/still am to then hear of Toms passing and then understanding what it was he was writing about, it really did hit me hard and I totally saw it in a different light. I mean listening to the lyrics and knowing now what was going on and to be in that head-space must have been... I don't know I can't understand it and I hope I never have too.
    So I wouldn't feel too bad about saying what you said in the other video (which was my point and I've dragged out far too long!) I get it with it being difficult to actually know whats going on all of the time with the message the band is trying to present. All I would say is, maybe instead of doing just a first time reaction, maybe do it 4 or 5 times (maybe time-lapse it) and then see if you view changes.
    I'd really suggest going through their catalogue in a chronological order and filming your reaction to it, because I bet you'll find some changes really jarring certainly with their changes in vocalists and their change into the here and now.

    • @galacticriminalx
      @galacticriminalx  6 лет назад +3

      I appreciate your words and you totally nailed it. I usually give my first listen opinion though because I feel its the most honest I will be about a track, especially if its a band I already enjoy.
      This isn't the first time ive come to enjoy a track or band more upon more listens, just the first that ive felt needed to be addressed. More so after seeing the doc.
      Im def gonna be getting into their catalogue and will be starting at the beginning.
      Thanks for watching and for the longest comment ever lol

    • @leighcharles5389
      @leighcharles5389 6 лет назад

      Haha I'm terrible for long comments, the amount of times I've written a long ass post and then deleted it is embarrassing!
      But yeah totally get your point about the first time around thing for the honest upfront reaction. Nice to see you give an honest opinion and not the typical "yeah man this is so sick!!" on every fucking song....
      Not that my own viewership means much but I'll certainly keep an eye out for more of your videos! Have a good one!

    What a blessed person you are, that you have not listened to Lost Forever and Daybreaker yet and that these two incredible albums are still to come for you. Enjoy!
    And keep up the good work, state your opinion and fuck the others. If a songs doen't get you at the first run, that's totally ok. Music is highly subjective. On the other hand, a lot of Architects Songs grow by listening to them over and over again. I was disappointed when listening to "Hereafter" for the first time for example. But after getting into the song, I now absolutely love it. Good music has to grow.

    What a band, what a tribute! R.I.P Tom Searle! Your legacy goes on, you'd be proud!
