I sang this with my grandma back in 95 she passed 2 weeks ago here I am listening and crying but I feel closer to her she loved les miserables and we sang all the songs together when I was a kid

It's a beautiful song which makes me cry, but having to sing it in primary school sounds weird and depressing, lol. Did they make you sweep floors and cry a lot as well? :-)
Wouldn't it have been better in terms of rhyming to say: "There is a world that's full of toys, there are a hundreds 'girls and boys'" rather than the other way round? Toys and girls doesn't fit as well as toys and boys!
