- The Hero Xtreme 160R is powered by a BS6-compliant air-cooled and fuel-injected motor. It delivers 15.2PS and 14Nm. Despite being a 2-valve motor, it is one of the most powerful motorcycles in its segment, overshadowed only by the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V whose 4-valve motor delivers 16PS and 14.1Nm. The Xtreme 160R gets a 5-speed gearbox.
Underpinnings: The Hero Xtreme 160R gets a diamond-type frame with telescopic forks and a 7-step preload-adjustable monoshock. Braking is via a 276mm front disc and 130mm drum (optional 220mm disc) with single-channel ABS as standard. It gets MRF REVZ tyres with the rear being a 130-section radial unit.

My father have 1st generation hero Honda CD 100. Still it runs smooth. I have used hero Honda splendor during my school and college days. And now based on your review I am using pulsar 150 ug5 twin disc model. Further I will be buying dominar 400 or gixxer 250 based on your review as you give the exact details of the bike.

engine to makkhan hona hi hai CBZ ki legacy hai ye engine honda-japan ne banaya tha ye 2008 me .. 12 saal hogaye hai one of the most reliable engine tha ye 150cc me .. good job hero ne improve kar diya . for starters this engine with 149.2 cc bore had done duty with honda unicorn , cbz , cbz xtreme , achiever , honda dazzler, hunk , CB trigger , hero xtreme 2014 , xtreme sports 2015 .

The Abs unit and braking system is not ByBre/Nissin . Also the fuel injector and pump used in this bike is not premium at this which is not good for this price point and competition

I am downgrading my bike from the amazing Duke 390 for various reasons... I live in Pune and will use my bike for commuting within city, ride with my son & wife and occasional long rides... Confused between Xtreme, Apache 4V, FZ-Fi and Unicorn... Which one would you buy if you were getting one for yourself?
Since you're downgrading from duke 390 ,i guess it would be better to go for Apache 4v
Family is ur main matter go unicorn. Genuine machine with decent stylish... but well tourer.. nxt xtrme or cbz this is a all rounder bike since 1999 to so far.. but this time hero did mistake with rear seat n section.. buy only in this 2 bike....
Nxt apache has rear plain seat but not too much in xtreme u got amazing suspension setup my 2011 edition CBz.. always love karizma n cbz suspension n hero now came with mono.. so u wil feel the power. Low maintenance reliability.. economical spare n service.. comfort... smoothness. With FI... mileage. What do u want in one bike.. Xtreme is not a new bike that one cbz xtreme in new Avathar..
Some will say it's power is less than apache but you should also see that it offers more mileage approx 10-15kmpl more... Therefore it's good for city and highway as well

If mileage is ur big concern then u must go with the xtreme . TVs gives 40-42 kmpl and xtreme 48-50 kmpl.

I am so happy to see that the Hero people have finally managed to create a motorcycle that is paised by all the RUclips channels. But I will still go for RTR 160 4V. 😂😅
Bro..dont go for rtr 4v..
Instead go for fzs v3.0 or gixxer..engine refinement of both the bike is good..whereas tvs engines lack in refinement and doesnt have the expected grunt..tvs always mentions more power on paper , but all of them are nearly same in real world performance..better have yamaha or suzuki standing in your garage and you remain tension free and bike maintainance free..

First I thought of xpulse 200 but due to low head light view in night(which is not preferable to ride out side city during night).This drawback making me to not to go for this bike.
Suggest me if any other bike also.
You can still think of Xpulse 200.. add aftermarket Aux lights

I feel like the 150 to 160 cc segment is extremely overcrowded. So many offerings. Wish we have different kinds of bikes in India like more adventure bikes, more sport bikes and more cruisers. Today, bikes like the Avenger, Intruder, Xpulse and Himalayan are niche products.
