You did a pretty nice job building her, and you even correctly built the bridge, not even Amegraphy built it right. All of those holes on the flight deck, and hangar deck, are known as 'pad eyes', which hold down any equipment, aircraft, or the 'mules, 'pigs', (flight deck tractors), and anythig else that might fall off the deck. The flight deck markings are also similar for the Nimitz class carrier, as well. There is a great resource of images from the US Navy's website that I use for reference, and for armour, and aircraft, Prime Portal (one word), has a great resource, as well for armour, aircraft, uniforms, small arms, and other, that I use as well for reference. Take care, and all the best.
'modelar'!!! A Superior job on that weathering!! You have Always done a great job on weathering your ships!!! I just had a "Fleet Week", where USN ships come visit ports in the US, and CARL VINSON CVN-70 was near-by for visitation... Point being is the colors on the FD Match what I photographed on the Real Ship, especially around the JBDs. Did you use a "yellow" color for the JBDs....It looks like a stained dark-yellow. I see from the underside of the upper hull, I can see the wash a bit especially on the starboard quarter sponson. I also, keep my islands un-glued, if I need to move it to display it between water-line and full hull....OR.... when I transporting them for shows at my local hobby shop. Your Masking of the paint Job is Also Superior when you do your model ships...I am Very impressed, especially around the catwalks!!! For me, I do a poor job on weathering of the FD around the JBD and around the arrestor cables where the planes catch the wires of the ship. Could you explain how you got ALL of those tie-downs that light color...I don't think you painted them all!! As for the decals, do One (1) squadron per day/week..... take it from me, I did an entire CVW in one (1) day and it ruined my eyesight and ever since...had to wear glasses!!
Thanks Moe. i used rust orange tamiya pastel on the JBD area. i use a toothbrush to get it in all corners and edges. using toothbrush gets into the panel lines and brings out the appearance. weathering is more like doing artwork painting. you saw uss carl vinson? i’m jealous. never seen an aircraft carrier in real life. i’ll work slow on the aircraft decals. my eye sight is gone anyway. i have to use magnifying glass all the time. my modelling time could end soon if my eyesight deteriorates. that’s why i need to do as many as i can now. i can’t do 1/700 anymore unless really necessary. hope to see your videos soon. take care.
@@modelar705 Good to hear from ya, my friend!! Yeah, keeping that eyesight going is tough....as I Might be starting to get there. And I HAVE M A N Y 700 scale ships to do, as well as my USN A/C Project, doing Every carrier from the 1980s to the present. I completed the MIDWAY-class and started on FORRESTAL-class, nearly completing CV-59 at 90%, the Only thing I needed to do was the a-c, but there were NO decals of the squadrons I wanted to do. CV-60 was right behind, but only 60% complete...same issue decals for squadrons. Then came a Good supplier of those decals, so I mix-match some planes decals to -59 and -60. Don't know when I'll be posting those.... Anyways, be Good and Doing Good on GR FORD...I'll try to download those picts and link them here...Stay Tuned!!!
@@Hey_MikeZeroEcho22P i wish to do all class of aircraft carrier in 1/350 scale. problem is there’s no Forrestal class from any maker. you will see more big ships in my builds coming.
Wow the fact that you can actually open the hanger up is simply amazing. The level of detail is very nice. Great job.
Thanks Mike. appreciate your comments.
