Great thing about the Gong Show was that the contestants didn't take themselves so seriously. It was all for entertainment and FUN, and the novelty of "being on television".
This is something that shows like "The Voice" or "America/Britain/Australia's Got Talent" totally get WRONG. The modern shows are essentially looking to convert their contestants into money makers, and "Candid Camera" the rest in a series of truly murderous out-takes.

Sweet old time goodness! This show would be too offensive to air on the networks today! Aint that a shame!

Boo on JP Morgan giving 9 points to the 3 lady dancers. They were good. Synchronizing with other dancers is hard and they did great. Plus I liked the boogy woogy music.

Rip made me laugh everytime he popped up on a show, and in the Jackass movie just before he passed, that was awesome of Knoxville to put him in the movie and turn another generation on to that silly guy

One of those shows where every aspect of it was really bad, but when combined together it was a priceless experience that people LOVED. Whoever thought this show up was either a genius or suicidal.
