@@hertzwave8001 probably not, the maus has more armor than most battleships, and its turret weighs so much that it wouldn't fly off but would probably be permanently disabled.
@@lewildknight9864 Uhhh, excuse me, more armor than most battleship? Are you comparing the weight or the pure thickeness of the armor? HMS Warspite, a WWI battleship with modern refitted, her most thickness belt armor is 305mm. Kongo japanese battleship has a battlecruiser graded armor and waterline belt reaches up to 203mm. Her barbettes is 254mm. Most of these are aguably outdated battleship here, wait until you see the more modern one like KGV or Iowa.

Inaccuracy from bship guns is sowed because in ships we can aim accurately only when target is locked, and in this case I think bship is not able to lock target, so it's purely on luck and judgement.

As the USS Wyoming, the event itself was fun but also boring due to how slow the initial setup was. Around half to a quarter of the time was wasted just getting the BBs in place. If this event was done again, it would better to expand out vehicle selection. Something like heavy tanks vs heavy cruisers or bigger. Definitely aim to have events where lots of participants can join since I find those to be the most fun.
Pure high explosive shells were the way to go in this event, couldn’t have gotten my 13 kills without them. I’d like to thank all the HE shells out there for their support and faith. I wish for all my HE fans the best of luck out there, you all deserve it and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. And I wish for your continuous support in future endeavors.
4:49 I just want to note that this kill was something. The dude was hiding behind two Mauses and was the one that died.
Ranging shots could have been used by the ships to fire shells in succession instead of all at once.
The Maus cannon is like a destroyer cannon with the Maus cannon having 120mm gun almost the same as a destroyer. So I think thats why the Maus is able to pen the first battleship and killing it
Actually almost exactly like a destroyer since german destroyers had 12.8cm guns, although a different variant since the maus main gun was developed from the 12.8cm Flak

you should do a video were you see if high altitude bombing or dive bombing or low level bombing is more effective against ships.

I think the Wyoming could’ve schooled the whole Maus squad solo
theres clearly some issue with how the ship shell impacts are being calculated on targets that small. lot of weird hits happening that the mauses were surviving with no damage at all
Was the HMS Dreadnought, the reason why we were getting low kills was that we were not using pure HE shells, I switched mid way through the batte copying the Wyoming to get those 3 kills. Also I'm not sure if the naval shells are interacting properly with tanks.
The fact that you can see one of Marlborough's AP shells penetrating a Maus turret and only killing 1 or 2 crew is certainly hard to believe (around the 1:30min mark). 13kg+ of TNT filler is going to do more than that.
The Marlborough should have used HE imo. Its so powerful and would easily take out atleast 1-2 maus per brought side.
Even the Wyoming which has less than half of the TNT filler succeeded very well by using HE only

@@thecreature6662 the HE easily can destroy a maus. You just need to hit the turret the explosion hits the upper plate of the hull and the tank goes *bye bye*. The problem with the SAPCBC and the APCBC is the pen. As we’ve seen in the video the shells often either just went trough the entire tank or somehow bounced off. The HE explodes immediately and the tank is gone. As you can see in 4:46 even the Wyomings HE with only 33kg of TNT was able to vaporize the tanks. Now just imagine Marlboroughs 88kg TNT shell… It would have been a nightmare for the ground units
Looks like the HE rounds were more effective then the semi armor piercing, though I wonder what the AP rounds would have done.
They were considered accurate when measuring hits against the broadside of a barn... Ie, against other big ships. lol

Well while others have mentioned most reasons already but ships tend to get less accurate the larger the ship is and coupled with extreme short ranges.
Another mentioned the grey boxes for targeting but if this simulation had been done prior to 2.01 then the players would've had more luck as the old aiming UI you could range non targeted enemies yet unfortunately that's gone RIP, Another thing is if the Maus tanks were coded as AI/ ship players with a grey box the dreadnoughts might have had some luck.

Actually the maus was water tight but the crew would not last long because another maus would have to supply oxygen to it so the maus wouldn’t die instantly

I'm so sad about how the WT naval ship weps work. Firing all canons in a barrage isn't and shouldn't be the default. And in reality, each turret had a gunner, so each shell could pick a different target and each could correct their aim.
IRL, one Battleship with 10 guns would probably kill 10 Maus in max two shots per gun, especially when not moving.

Gaijin must listen to the community & I suggest that they add PVE events with AI infantry for tanks & ground vehicles to attack & to have fun with because air has that chance so why not give it to ground vehicles too??!!.. Warthunder is good legendary game but just needs that extra fun to be allowed & freedom to spawn in any map for example if u want some solo fun by using a tank in air map

A bunch of Maus (Mouses ? Mice ?) would have zero chance against a Battleship as that would mean a destroyer would beat one as well.
Even the secondary batteries of 6 inch guns would rip those tanks apart.

Hey i got a Idea, Sniper tanks vs Light Tanks!!! The Light Tanks try to get as close as they can and take out the Enemy Snipers. The Sniper tanks could be like the Chi-Ha LG or 8,8 cm Flak 37 Sfl. or Tanks that are like this, ones with almost no armor but good at shooting at long range.

wyoming was using HE. thats why he collected all those kills. i think maus players should have used more he and focus on killing crew other than trying to pen bbs side.

Depending on when it comes the most modern ship will be the Pr.20380 corvette laid down in 2001 seen on the same decal as the MiG-29.
Anyway there's a few late 80's early-mid 90's vessels in game but at the end of the Cost'all TT, If you wanna start grinding those heh.

@@croskerk OOF My condolences heh... While the MTB's are fun as well as the subchasers & Minesweeper plus the gunboats but man don't touch the Tacoma class frigate with a 40ft pole for it's the very definition of shit and should be pulled from the game like the Town class 1940 was.
Still USS Cyclone & the LCS(L)(3) are quite fun.
Odd fact the LCS is the only vessel in game that went from Rank I to Rank V.
