I appreciate how authentic James is. We know he isn’t a gunsmith/reloader type, but he makes sure and asks some technical questions. He also pushes for answers in a non combative manner.
Asking Beretta if they would ever make an AR-15, that’s like asking Ferrari if he will ever make a Corvette! I would have paid folding money to hear the real thoughts inside his head at that question.
The PX4 is a phenominal pistol. The "full size" is actually more mid-sized, easy shooting, easily concealed, accurate, and my 2005 model has over 30,000 rounds through it and it functions perfectly. It is equal or superior to all of my handguns, including the HKs and Sigs.

Thank you to whoever asked the question about updates for the PX4. Not the answer I was hoping for, but at least I won't waste any time daydreaming about a new generation.
All they'd really have to do to the PX4 Storm is add grip texture and redesign the shape of the decocker levers a bit. Maybe reshape the disassembly lever and move away from the kind of swoopy 90s scifi surface imprints, and have patterns more in line with classic 81/92 series grip panel lines. But that's almost entirely surface level stuff. Even the general shape of the gun is great, it's just the surface details that make it come off as an ugly duckling. By the way, thanks for doing these interviews with the Beretta guys, James. They're great to listen to.
This was a wonderful interview, and Mr. Ferlito seems genuine and well-spoken to say the least. I eagerly look forward to seeing the Manurhin lineup expand in the US; maybe we'll even have a revolver model from Beretta one of these days. (One that's closer to the $1500 mark would be great.) I was also happy to hear an answer about the 81 Series/Cheetah; having those or something similar enough back stateside would be quite nice. Hopefully they keep the trigger guard rounded and offer a no-rail version for looks' sake. A question on if Beretta would move the safety to the frame instead of the slide on more of their 92 variants would've been appreciated too. :D
The 92x is my favorite full-sized pistol. It's just a beautiful and glassy smooth gun. I have the rdo (red dot optimized) version but won't be putting one on because it would look absurd. It's sits way too high. I'd like to see a follow up to the 92x that has the slide milled LTT (Langdon Tactical) style to more naturally accommodate a dot. And shorten the barrel/slide just a hair more in the centurion version.
I’d think the PX4 Compact Carry in 30 Super Carry would sell well; especially given that Langdon Tactical makes optics cut PX4 slides and tricks them out in other ways.
Agreed, PX4 most underrated. But Beretta has not updated that gun since inception. It's too slick to hold and 80's looks are killin it. Every couple of years,, it needs to be re-freshed to sell well. Needs optic cut. Needs a 5 inch version for competition.
I would love a Beretta 84 in 30 super carry (with better recoil management). (edit - For me, the thing that made me so reluctant to go for a Px4 was the slick plastic. Wish they'd done that differently)
If Beretta could make a 9mm - 84 "Cheetah" series in EXACTLY the same size as it is now,...I think it would sweep the market place. It is the perfect concealed carry weapon. I carry my 84 B .380 -- with a 13 + 1 capacity double stack a lot. Metal hammer fired guns rule !
It would be a completely different gun. Can’t do straight blow back in 9mm Luger/Parabellum unless you have a massively heavy slide(eg, Hi-Point) due to the much higher pressure compared to .380. The Cheetah frame isn’t big enough for a tilt barrel or locking block delayed opening action.
I love 92FS's still. And would love to see them simply offer a tuned trigger for the series. And offer more models with steel parts again. It's a more traditional gun for more traditional shooters I think. And many of us mod our pistols since Beretta doesn't offer us what we want from the factory.
A very nice interview. I was disappointed that no one was curious about dedicated competition handguns. I'm not talking about the tactic cool 9 mm and whatnot for 2 and 3 gun, I'm talking about pistols for Olympic type competition. I wish I had never sold my Beretta model 95 22 long rifle. And I've always wanted one of their 32 Smith & Wesson some automatic Target pistols. Would be interesting to see if they make a free pistol as well. Maybe keep some notes for the next trip?
I love the 92 series but the one I really liked was the Beretta Cougar and I had the the 8040 and 8045. I'm curious if they have ever considered bringing it back.
That Carlo acknowledged the Beretta workers not just himself, speaks volumes.

PX4 refresh red dot cut, decock only with smooth levers, factory dayglo night sights and decent laser stippled grip texture
Awesome!
I have owned or tried just about every pistol… the M9A4 is one of my favorites.
The number of Springfield ads in here is just hellish
This is a big deal! Congrats on this episode💪
Would love to see Beretta in the micro compact double stack 9mm game.
I love the PX4 but it’s chonky and hard to conceal.
Yo momma chonky and hard to conceal
Ok, now I have to buy a PX4! 🤘🤙✌️ love the beretta content
I can watch this channel all day and not because of the extreme good looks of James but because of the content!!! 😂
Que grandissima interview. Like olive oil and garlic with esspresso.
Really respect Beretta for letting the PX4 platform keep going until people caught up to it. Nowadays, its reputation seems to be growing all the time
Good stuff
James: "Any plans for 30 super carry?"
Beretta: "you can't even find any"
James: "I'll give you my 2 boxes!" *awkward laughter*
Did you ask him if the engineer of the Beretta pico is hanging upside down like a salami with piano wire. 🤔😵💫??
Yup, I agree. Px4 is underrated.
I know that the Manhurin is on my list for an after I move item. Don't know which barrel length I'd want yet
Watch the Forgotten Weapons video with the GiGN guy and you got your answer.
I'd buy one in a heartbeat! Though if the styling could more closely resemble the BB series of those guns that'd be great.
Love my 32 ACP 81BB
I love 92FS's still. And would love to see them simply offer a tuned trigger for the series. And offer more models with steel parts again. It's a more traditional gun for more traditional shooters I think. And many of us mod our pistols since Beretta doesn't offer us what we want from the factory.
I would also love to see them modernize the finishes by starting to salt bath nitride the slides, barrels and metal parts.
Not me freaking out when the Perazzi booth was in the back
A very nice interview.
I need one of those revolvers!
I love the 92 series but the one I really liked was the Beretta Cougar and I had the the 8040 and 8045. I'm curious if they have ever considered bringing it back.
