I was at that show.
Gene seems totally unconcerned that he threw a flaming torch into a crowd of people.
Look again, it fell into the area between the audience and the stage, you could see the crew trying to pick it up. I was in that part of the audience at a show several years back, I wish he had dropped that torch on me, I would have that thing on my mantle for the rest of my life!

Back in 2014/2015 (I think) I saw kiss live. Iconic band, a classic 2-2 1/2 hour concert with special effects etc. Sadly, the members in Kiss obviously aged quite a bit since their golden years, and I found it a little sad that they were so worn out 1 hour into the concert, they didn't manage to keep on doing the entire setlist. I'd prefer a shorter and more explosive concert over a long drawn out one.
1 hour is still good tho
Just saw Megadeth in Winnipeg May 2023...that's exactly what they did. 80 minutes of pure energy. ONE encore ( Peace Sells) and the lights went on and they walked around the stage throwing picks and did a entire unison band bow to the crowd( like KISS does) and you were completely satisfied.
An amazing, badass, band like KISS, with all the crazy cool stunts they do, there bound to have a blooper every now and again.

I love seeing this stuff! Been a fan since the mid 70's and have seen them more times than I can count. It's a helluva a good time! Fun to see that despite all the planning and # of times they have done it before things can still go off track now and then. What this doesn't show is that despite the snags they pick up and carry on with the show like nothing happened. Thx for this clip

What I will NEVER understand is why so many people who obviously dislike KISS will waste their "precious" time watching videos of a band they don't like, & then spend even MORE time to slam them in the comment section. Wtf is that?? And it's not just KISS videos... I've seen it throughout other bands/performers videos as well. When I'm scrolling along, looking for a video to watch, I'd NEVER click on something I know I don't like. For example, I really don't like certain genres of music- Why would I waste time on watching those videos when there are so many videos of music that I DO enjoy?? I'm thinking these people are just cranky in general, & take pleasure in insulting what other people enjoy.

I'm not the biggest Kiss fan but honestly I think they're underrated. Heck even Kurt Cobain was influenced by their music and painted a van with the Kiss band members on it. Every band is commercialized when it comes down to it. I think Kiss gets too much hate. Maybe Gene Simmons is responsible lol
Yes, this happens when you perform live a lot. And with a tecnical show like KISS their show things can and will go wrong.
Saw them last week in Dortmund, Gene at one point after his flying stunt was very pissed at the crew, I was up close but never noticed what went wrong.
Loved KISS as a teen.
Now in my 50's, looking back their only REALLY GOOD albums were the 1st "Alive....Live" album....the only thing LIVE on the album is Peters Drums.
The rest re-recorded over his Drums in the studio, Destroyer was a GREAT album the their last good album "Creatures of...or in The Night."
Although Ace is shown on the cover, Vinnie Vincent played the Guitars.
Just my opinion.
I'll always respect them and thank them for wanting me to become and making me a musician as a kid and still continuing to play out today.

I was 16 years old when i first met Gene Simmons. I stopped at a Coffee shop not to far from where i lived. He was sitting in a booth with his entourage. I could tell it was him from his entourage wearing KISS shirts and from the way he looked/talked I was fucking geeked out of my mind to see this guy only like 20 ft. away from me. At the time i didn't have a phone or anything for him to sign or a photo to be taken. So I asked the cashier if i could borrow a pen for 5 mins. I swear to god the only thing i could find was white napkin from the nearest table. I felt like It all happened in slow motion. I walk right up to Gene who was sitting at the edge of the booth and politely/nervously said " Gene Im a great fan!!!! May I have your autograph please???" I shit you not Gene had the most serious face I've ever seen and he said " you got 20$?" .... I pulled out my wallet with nothing in it and told him " No " and he replied " Then no can do" He gave me back the napkin and pen with a smile.
NOW I SMILE WHEN I SEE HIM FALL AND FUCKING UP ON STAGE !!
P.S. My Advice to anyone who is willing to spend money on meeting your idol just remember that the person you see on the screen is defiantly not how the person could be in the real world.

That guy is at every show, he's in the road crew, they call him Laser Dude.
They didn't need help fucking up there shows. If they didn't put on that makeup and have the stage distractions, they never would've been close to as big as they got. Musically kinda talented. Ace was their best talent and where he go? Lol. Gene is just a bag of ego. Also, the lip singing has gotta go! I pay to see people live. If their voice sounds like shit, at least it was their own voice. It's cheating.

KISS are legends, and I've seen them through 4 lineups.... I thought the Carr/Kulick years were the best, but that's just my opinion. I'd say afterwards the Kulick/Singer era.
To me, as much as I like Ace and Peter, I feel like everyone brought in after those guys were technically superior. Vinnie Vincent, Mark St. John, Bruce Kulick,Eric Carr, Eric Singer..
When they reunited, the same substance abusing Space Man and Cat were on full display.
I think out of all lineups Destroyer, Revenge, and Creatures are tied for my most favorite, but hell, all their 80s stuff rocked and they sold a bunch of albums..
Sure , they weren't the top air radio anymore, but they still outsold many of those bands because they made complete records instead of trying to keep copying "I was made for loving you."
Lick It Up, Animalize, Asylum,and Hot In the Shade were amazing... The only gripe I have with Crazy Nights is that Ron Nevison sucks and should have stayed producing Ozzy records because the bass and drums were weak as shit on that album.
The two tracks on Smashes,Thrashes, and Hits were really great too.
Now since they are all around 70 years old, they just aren't 1982-1992 good and they were the golden years of KISS for me. I got to see them once during their Revenge tour and they were SPECTACULAR!!!

Thayer is an ok songwriter and if Gene hates VV that much he wouldn't keep hiring him to write songs, and a fun fact is that Tommy Thayer had to teach Ace his old licks again on the "Money whore" reunion tour.
They sing the same 15 songs over and over.
I felt as though the reunion in 1996 was trading a ferrari for a skateboard. Carnival Of Souls was a great album and I wish they had toured and done a couple of those songs but it's as if they just completely forgot everything up to 1979 and are stuck there, as are all their 50-55 year old fans.
Suppose if you do something long enough, there will be some bad moments/mistakes.

as much as I love KISS, I only listen to their music from 1973 to 1982. After that, they became just another hair band. Then after ace and peter left for the second time, they became their own cover band. I still to this day would rather pay money to see ace frehley play at some dinky night club drunk telling his bad jokes then pay up the ass to see a fake kiss onstage. I mean c'mon they've been on a farewell tour for 17 years now.
Mike I couldn't say it better myself. I lost interest in Kiss in 1983 when they ditched the makeup. In hindsight I can understand why because the whole glam-rock schtik was very passe in the early 80s and as Paul said MTV (which changed the way music was sold and presented in the 1980s. Video rather than simple radio airplay to sell songs) wouldn't play their videos because they felt their look was too dated (late 70s). They had to reinvent themselves and it worked (Lick it Up was a big single for them). But as a once fan, they were like every other hair band from the 80s (Van Halen, R.A.T.T, Quiet Riot, Poison etc). They just weren't cool anymore with the leather pants and bright spandex. But as I said they needed to evolve with the times.
But now there is no excuse to keep going when two of your guys are pushing 70 and you have the other two guys pretending to be Ace and Peter. Thats why they play in front of small crowds at fairs and casinos now. They had a chance to retire on top in 2000. They never should have kept going and wear out their welcome. Whatever happened to Paul's quote in 2000 when he said "I'd rather have people say why did you retire? Than say why don't you retire?"

Actually check out REVENGE. It's one of their best albums. It's the only one I like after 79...
No matter what you like, best to catch rock any act in their prime. Some guys can still bring the fire when they get older, but for most there's that prime period when it's all magic.
The advertising for current tours should say, "Tonight only! SMOOCH, the world's number one officially licensed KISS tribute band, with original members Gene and Paul."
