The product we are using is: Asphalt Emulsion
What is an asphalt emulsion?
Asphalt emulsion is a combination of three basic ingredients; asphalt, water, and small amount of an emulsifying agent.
Why use asphalt emulsions?
Asphalt emulsion does not require a petroleum solvent to make it liquid and in most cases asphalt emulsions can be used without additional heat. Both of these factors contribute to energy savings. Additionally, asphalt emulsions offer great flexibility in their application since they offer the end-user a great variety of characteristics not found in other paving and maintenance materials. Asphalt emulsions are environmentally friendly. There are little or no hydrocarbon emissions created with their use.

What is SEALCOATING and why should I do it?
1. Sealcoating protects and prolongs the life expectancy of asphalt pavement by filling surface damage and providing a protective layer to keep out damaging UV rays, vehicle fluids, and water.
2. The low cost of regular sealcoating can save you money in the long run. A properly maintained and sealed asphalt surface has an extended lifetime and reduces long-term repair costs.
3. With exposure to the elements, asphalt pavement over time becomes faded in appearance. A fresh sealcoat application enhances the appearance of asphalt, making it look and wear like new.
4. Sealcoating is typically done using one of two application methods: spray or squeegee/brush.
5. Sealcoating accelerates the melting process of snow and ice on pavement surfaces. This helps to protect against water penetration, rain, frost and snow damage.
6. To correctly complete the sealcoating process, the air and pavement temperature is recommended to be at least 55 degrees Fahrenheit for the duration of the application and for eight hours following the application.
7. Prior to pavement sealing, the asphalt surface should be cleared of all dirt and debris. In addition, minor repairs, like potholes and cracks, should be filled and vehicle fluids, like oil, should be properly removed.

This one was brutal. Last job of the day. I almost didn't make it.
Where do you get those brooms
EXCELLENT work as always. every detail PERFECTION. thanks for the post…. ✌🏼✌🏼

Glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for the visit.
I love the close-up shots at 13:05.
Impecable tu trabajo te felicito.
Thanks, Eric.
thanks for posting fellas..
No worries! Thanks, Jule.
Beautiful job as always! When doing the fine cut-in along sidewalks, cobblestone or pavers, which direction do you prefer working from, left to right, right to left, or doesn’t it matter?✌🏻
I would say that I prefer the edge to be on the left side. But it sometimes depends on the slope of the asphalt.
you should consider mounting your brush stick the other possible way to the brush head.
Head camera... Whoa!
I wanted to head-cam the whole thing, but of course it overheated 10 minutes in.
Wow that guy did the whole community $$$$
💯
Out of curiosity how mwny clients do u usually have i really love these videos there relaxing
There’s a lot. Thanks for watching.
I've watched your videos off and on for the last few years. Great content! Its been neat seeing how you've grown!
I'm located in IN and just started my sealcoating business. I like to do quality work and would like to know where you buy your supplies...Wire brushes? If you have a video that references this, would you please link it for me under this comment. What is your sand/sealer ratio? What are your thoughts about additives? I use the pave gel from sealmaster. I love the idea of additives in my sealer for a nice quality look and wear! Interested in what additives you might use if any. Looking forward to your reply.🎉
send me an email and I can better answer your questions there: sealcoatingislife@gmail.com
How much of the seal coating liquid do you use in a week? Is it expensive? Do you mix it yourself? How much can your container on your truck hold? How long does a filled container on the truck last? 2 days? 3? Thanks 👍🏾❤💯
In 5 days well go through about 1,000 gallons.
Expensive is a relative term.
We do mix it ourselves by adding sand and water.
The truck holds 550 gallons. But we never fill to the brim.
We can get 2 days of work out of a full truck.
God bless you guys that have to work out in this heat! If the heat up there is anything close to what it’s like here in Texas, I don’t know how you survive. Which brings me to my question, is it ever too hot to use the product? Can you put seal on really hot asphalt? Can the heat actually cause it to dry too quickly?
Great question. Yes, for me it gets too hot after 1pm. We will never work past 1pm. And on extremely hot days, we’re not working past 12pm. In extreme heat, the sealer dries before it can be properly worked into the asphalt and before we can remove the footprint and lines. That’s how it goes for me, anyway. ☀️
If you hand seal hot asphalt it will streak and look terrible. If it's hot I seal commercial work like parking lots and spray it.
How much would this job typically run for? Love your vids, great work too !
Thanks. It’s around $0.25/square foot.
Great job, as always, Gregory. I have two questions: 1) What do you guys do when you have to use the bathroom, and you're on a big job; and 2) How do you come up with some of these funny video names?
Oops - one more. Is it possible for the clips you use as Stories on Instagram be saved as shorts here on RUclips? I'd love to be able to watch them again after they've left Stories. Thanks for another awesome video.
I use solo cups for the bathroom. Ive gotten pretty good at being inconspicuous during the process. For the pother one I will only do at home, (either before of after work).
Frying Dragon is from the movie "Sidekicks" that I was watching while I was editing this.
I have all this clips saved on my phone. I'll try and do something with them over the winter. I just had to transfer 4,000 sealing clips to a separate external hard drive. I have so many. 😂
@@SEALCOATINGISLIFEI hear you on that!
By the way - you're pretty darn good at edging yourself.
nice work. wondering what brand do you use ?sealmaster?
We are not using Sealmaster. We’re using a different company’s AE.
Hy guy.
Very good job , is really clean .
What is the liquid ?
Peint or bitum (goudron) .
Sorry for my english , i’am french
Hey thanks for watching. All the info is in the video description. 🇫🇷
Hi Greg. I am curious how often you replace your brushes with a new one? I know you keep them in a water tank but how long does one last on average? Also, have you used a squeegee before and what have you found the advantage of the brushes are over a squeegee? Thanks.
3 weeks is the max life of a brush. You can flip them to get a few extra days, sometimes. I have NEVER used a squeegee so wouldn’t know.
I guys I’m just toning to get started in this type of work and glad that you asked that question. So the brush box is just a box with water in it correct?
Yes, with bout 6-8 inches of water in it.
Do you add water to your sealer or additives and or agitate it a lot ?
Your sealer consistency look way easier to work with vs how mines comes out the end. Yours flows right out no problem.
We add water and sand to our material at the full station.
Do you have to heat the product before applying it to the surface?
Nope
How come you prefer the synthetic brush over the tampico brushes?
I think they last longer on the asphalt
What should i do if my town doesn’t have a bulk fill supplier for my sealer?
1. Buy buckets at a big box hardware store.
2. Order 55 gallon drums.
3. Make the drive to the next place that seeks it in bulk.
4. Buy a BIG tank and have the sealer delivered to you.
You guys ever do 2 coats?
Residential is 1 coat
Where did you purchase those LARGE push brooms?
Email me
I notice you post equipment you use, but where do you get your brushes and what kind are they?
amzn.to/3Siyvk9
so what happens to all the grass at the edges that got covered in the sealcoating?
It’s grows out.
how much does it cost to put that...lets say i got some 12 ft width by 45 ft long...can you give me an estimate
$250 is the minimum
When is it to hot to seal coat?
After 1pm here
How do I clean my brush after im done doing my driveway?
if its water based, use water
@@SEALCOATINGISLIFE ok thanks.
We keep our in a brush box that’s filled with water
What do you have in the box where you store the brushes to keep them from sticking together?
It’s just water.
@@SEALCOATINGISLIFE You have a pretty nice setup. Do you go over the cost to get started in your videos? I'd like to learn more.
How much did you make on this job and how long did it take? 😊
This was a little over an hour
Why do you brush instead of spray ?
I have a video on that
Question for you guys...Do u know how to store a seal brush without a brush box aka (trough)?
You would have to clean it completely before storing it. It wouldn’t be worth it. If any sealer dries it the brush, you wouldn’t be able to use it.
Where are you guys located? I live in New Jersey. I need your help badly!!!
Western Philly suburbs
Can you apply this stuff to concrete driveways? Just curious...
This product is for asphalt only.
How much does it cost per square foot
Around .25
how long is the curing time after sealcoating that whole driveway?
48 hours
@@SEALCOATINGISLIFE got it thanks 🙏🏼
Excellent job! One stupid question: for what purpose is this seal coating? Does it solve any practical problems or is it just for looking good? I mean it looks amazing!!
Check the video description for more information.
Do you provide any warranty? What company do you purchase your sealer from?
Also, what was the square footage on this driveway and what did you charge the customer? Or…how would you price a 2,500 sqft driveway, no cracks, sealed 3 years ago, can you give a price range per sqft depending on how porous?
We’re around $0.25/square foot.
You’re prices have to be competitive and still turn a profit.
Are you in the Harrisburg area like around there.
Were in southeastern PA
how hot was it?
Around 120F on the asphalt
@SEALCOATINGISLIFE do you charge more considering the added heat from the asphalt because in west Texas it is Hell. Probably why I don't see Anyone doing this.
@@jamiemorales2022 the price is the same all year round.
Tidy work - green lawns
Thanks
@@SEALCOATINGISLIFE Are you guys any were near that flooding
Why brushes over squeegee and and spray bar?
It’s cleaner this way. Also, you can’t work on windy days if you’re spraying residential.
刷这个的作用是什么?

No sir....Go get a 55 gallon contractors garbage bags and wrap your brushes with it. Of course it's easier to wrap a 3' brush but the bag is big enough to fit the 4'.
I would imagine that makes quite a mess. The sealer has legs 🦵
Not at all give it a try...
Why would they do that when they have a brush box
Brush boxes are messy...U fill them with water.. u tap brush on what bottom of flat bed...side of tank.. U get build up...they take up room... your sticks are straight up in the air... A wrapped is easily stored and will stay totally soft... I've been doing this since 1987
