- Опубликовано: 21 ноя 2019
- Did you know you can make lures out of rope and catch fish? I had no idea until I visited Louisiana and found out it was a common thing down here. So, I made my own rope lure and caught some big alligator gar in just a few hours of fishing!
Keep trying new things and leveling up in real life!

(By the way, I stayed for about 30 minutes to see if that alligator messed with those divers)

When I saw fishing with rope I knew exactly what you were fishing for. Alot of people dismiss the fish but it is great table fare.
Just don't the roe (green color)💀
Same
In small creeks overrun with em it’s a great way for kids to get addicted to fiahing
@@brianlocal3 i know a marsh in Slidell where there is so many spotted gar and alligator gar it is unreal. Like a canal that is only 20ft wide has 8 alligator gar 5+ foot long rolling on the surface in a 50ft section of the canal.
@@clintonsing1674 I fish salmon and trout and they make caviar in them not that good better to cure them up probably work for catfish and whatever
It’s crazy how they’re just like oh a gator....k and? 😂
eh, not really. they're so common that if they aren't all that big, they're only a threat if they mess with ya
@@fruitymushroo2409 so they were like.. "k and?" Thanks for the confirmation
Haha so funny lol
Just imagine Pedestrians Walking by seeing this guy recording himself Fishing with a rope and a massive hook On the top of the rope 😂.
Good video.
3 hours later

thats the craziest fishing technique i've ever seen! great video!
Have you ever heard of catching barracuda on tubes of plastic? I'm going to try that in Hawaii this year. I ordered some of the lures!
Hi bass n trout
Yeah I’ve seen that on lunkerstv channel, that sounds awesome, looking forward to the Hawaii vids this year!
Ace Videos I love the Hawaii vids, can you do spear fishing too?
I've never seen this technique before! 😮 Also so kind that you offered to let those guys keep whatever you caught. Keep on brother!✊
I watch richard gene as well. For years I used yarn to catch catfish in Jaskson Mississippi at the Ross Barnet reservoir. This works great.
Louisiana divers: **saw alligator** Hold my beer.
I do fish with rope, it makes some really good flies, I discovered it by accident and it became my number 2 lure
Whats #1?
why do these videos calm me down so much?😂
As kids back in the early 80's we had an old guy tell us about using rope lures for Gar Pike here in Michigan. After catching several in one day we fished these all the time.

Lol they were happy! They didn’t care about the gator lol it’s Louisiana!
I love how you can feel the adrenaline rush in his voice when something happens. So enthusiastic
I enjoyed your video but i enjoy it even more when you cook the fish 😁
A hook and ROPE!!! Maaaaan that's an awesome idea! I'm from South Texas and I can tell ya for sure that gar is very good to eat. 🤘🏼😁

I live in the u.k and watch very few angling videos from the states mostly down to a different angling style and different species to whats available here but this really held my attention i found it both informative and entertaining. Kudos to you and keep up the good work.
Hey! I’m a really big fan of yours and Richard Gene’s channels! That’s really cool you watched his vids on catching gar! I’ve learned a lot about fishing from the both of you.
I've seen Gar eat ducks! I've always had that thought in my head while swimming anywhere they are!
"There are Scubadivers" me: DALLMYD?

I don’t know if it’s your catch or positive vibes that I like most. Regardless keep up the videos.
Awesome that you gave Mr. Gene a shout-out and giving the guys a warning about the gator! I'll give you a thumbs-up just for that 😊 you did a great job on catching some gar.
Welcome to LA Ace. This is my stompin' ground. Frayed nylon rope for catching gar goes wayyyy back. Also, Richard Gene is a beast too. Love that guy. Cool vid man.
Cool you shouted out Richard Gene... that's how I learned an about the rope trick.
Love your videos Ace!💕 I love the handmade lures!
Hi ace I am from Louisiana and I have used that method many of times to catch gar
Favourite piece of material here . Including green rafia strings for Diamond Trevally when fresh bait just won't do
Hey man what are you using for bait?? “ rope man, just normal rope”😂😂😂😂
Nice vid Ace! Super relatable. I’ve never done it myself but I always see people using rope on the banks of the Colorado river.
I knew about this technique for quite some time now, but still haven't tried it myself. Might give it a try on my next fishing trip 🎣. Enjoyed the video 👍
Wow this was a cool video. Thanks for giving me an idea for new baits
One of your best vids yet man!
I love rope fishing for gar! Great eating too!
Wow!! Awesome that's a nice Catch! Fish on
Never been fishing but looks fun
I live in NC and we have the Lumber River which is filled with monster gar. I’m talking about the size of a full grown man. I can never get them to bite anything I throw. Thanks for the rope idea man. I’m definitely gonna give it a try.
Another great video Thanks
Love watching aces videos while being stoned , watching from oregon!!
I did not know that , very cool !
Great video! Can't wait for your next upload
Your my favorite youtuber ever in the world hope you keep going
I love the guys laugh 😂
Love Richard Gene, but I learned how to do this way before the Internet, lol! Tip: use a lighter to melt one end of the piece of rope into a cap-shape, then brush out the rest of it; this will give you something better to tie up to and make the lure last longer.
This was your best video yet can you make a rope gar catch and cook?
Since you did it... we need to see a Gar catch n cook!
That's so cool.... I went to a river over the summer on a camping trip that has gar.... I've never caught one or fished for them! When I go back there (hoping next year) that rope trick will be awesome to try!
I live this video and I'm planning on using this life for gar thanks ACE!
My personal best is a 6 foot gar and I love watching your videos

Great video once again
Richard gene is the man!!!!
This was so cool 😎 🔥
Keep up the good work Ace 💪🏽
that guy you gave the shout out too is the 1st time i've seen this trick
This is so neat!
My dad really never wanted to catch gar so I never targeted them. Recently I saw tons of large gar just surfacing the water where we fished at so I made a Rope lure without my dad knowing. Now I'm going to go fish for gar.
Awsome video that's so cool I'm going to try the rope lure for pike and see if that works
Love your channel.. 💯💯💯Those 2 guys or my older cousins, the one in the blue shirt, we be fishing all the time up there..
Love your videos!
Crab video definitely my favorite
Damn bro cool as hell to shout out Richard Gene the any kind of fishing machine right off the rip. Awesome video brother.
Landing nets are great and useful!
A wire brush works wonders to unravel the rope. Also a wire leader attached to the middle and brush out both ends gives it a lot better action. Cotton rope is my first choice but nylon works great too.
Dude been watching the fishing machine for years... nice!
Calm down cowboy Lol nice buddy!!
Thats so cool i wish we can try that one day!!
"bookoo bucks" 😂😂
MERICA 🤙🤙 loving the rope colors
Great videos can’t get enough
This is wild!
Those were some nice longnose gar. I like to catch them the same way. They are alot of fun to catch and they taste great!
I love the fitting parts of animals
Sup ace here in Florida we got the alligator guard but illegal to cash them, but is cool it’s an amazing animal and they grow big
Ace is the best 😎😎
JerryRigEverything looking a little different
LOL
That's some mad skill right there.
The alligator is somebody’s pet out here
Me : I need this 50 dollar bluegill Swimbait Ace: today I will be fishing with rope
I heard about this as a kid, never seen it but to work though!
that is how eel are traditionally caught in Northern Germany, you pull worms onto a wool string, their teeth get tangeled up in it and you lift em out. it's an ancient concept
I was out on the lake today and saw a ton of gar rolling on bait maybe I should try this. Btw those are longnose gar.
Good fun video 👍
In Canada at a lake we use to go to and when the fish were biting well, we tried using (small) blocks of scrap wood and we put hooks on it. Just plain blocks of wood, and we caught fish. We even got bold enough to use pieces of tree branches, but it did not hold up very well. Cool idea though....rope, yeah!
Great video Bro! Wish it was a catch and cook but its still top 5.
