Documentary: Bayer’s Better Farms Better Lives initiative

The outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 caught the whole world unawares! Keen to cushion smallholder farmers from the ravages of the pandemic, and alive to the vision of ‘hunger for none’, Bayer quickly developed a global Covid-19 response program dubbed Better Farms Better Lives, to avert a global health crisis from escalating into a hunger crisis.
In Africa, the Better Farms Better Lives initiative supported sustainable farming solutions in eight countries during the first year of the pandemic. This was done through the distribution of corn and vegetable seed as well as targeted agronomic advice to the farmers. This short documentary showcases the life-changing impact of the Better Farms, Better Lives initiative on smallholder farmers in Africa.
