You totally impress me. You probably should have covered the holes with the same screws used to bolt the seats. But I will study this video for inspiration. i'm gonna be doing the same with a two thousand seventeen 4x4, 2017 Expedition. Instant subscriber.
Thank you for showing what it looks like with seats out. I've been searching for a photo or video showing this - thanks so much, they are hard to find ❤️
Wow!!! I am just so amazed at your bravery to do such a big job!!! You're taking after your momma with all her skill at building things!!! Looking forward to the next installment!!! Happy building!!!
For anyone considering this, my thoughts would have been to do it less permanent so it could be restored easily. Take out rear seats, leave carpet and then just lay a sheet of insulation down and build an elevated bed about 8"-12" for storage underneath. Use short 4x4 pieces for 6 or 8 legs, and 1x4s and 2x4s for the frame/slats. Could use cordage to anchor it in place for safety, using any anchor points on the truck. With 12" storage under it, you'd have probably 30 cubic feet of storage, and still have about 2-2.5' of headroom to crawl in and sleep. And if you want to revert it back, it would be simple and a lot less time consuming. Storage underneath: Tools, water, supplies, Coleman stove, camping chairs for sitting outside, etc. Also, maximize storage with a roof cartop carrier and roof basket.
Following! I am going to be doing this to my 2003 Expedition. I plan on doing one whole floor and use the under areas for storage. I have a mini fridge and my electric bought that connects to the truck battery via an isolator relay. Also want to add solar power to it.
That uneven base is a nightmare to frame. One thing that helped me were these things called "cross nuts" or "plus nuts"...screws loosen, but with plus nuts you use bolts.
It is written lil grasshopper sam ..think light .. then when ya gettya kungfu on .. go lighter .. save your transmission.. your doin a mighty fine job ..pilgrim ..😁
I thought the same thing. But the seats take up so much vertical room, and don't lay flat either way. There's a slant, and the middle seat sticks up awkwardly
Question: is the front passenger seat coming out and perhaps turned around, in its current location?. Also will there be a third seat in either the driver or passenger rear location? Reason I’m asking is that’s what my thought is at the moment.
I just vacuumed the floor and put a flat wood to avoid doing too much work. I get a flat surface and storage underneath close to the driver’s seat. No need for the carpet to come out or spend more than you need to build a floor 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Thank you Sam. I have chemical reactivity … so odorless doesn’t help if it’s still toxic. Thank you for your reply and you did an amazing job on your vehicle! Blessings to you and your furry baby with all your new adventures💗
@@twofoxesontheroad8868 for sure. I just framed mine out last night "FINALLY". LOL. you are serious on yours lady! I'm local so hope to see you around. Keep it pushing!
Many reasons: the frame wasn't even so the plywood would move around; the road noise would be awful; the lack of insulation; the rest of the build wouldn't be secure; I'm not going for the thrown-together-in-an-hour look, etc.
You literally did all that work for nothing 😂 totally unnecessary! A flat wooden board would’ve been enough with some 4x4 10in long at the front as legs for the flat board.
I like everything especially the dog

@@twofoxesontheroad8868 sure!!
Good job . Like mother like daughter. I can't wait for the next video. Great job.
Thank you Betty Bear! Apple doesn't fall far
Thank a lot ! This helps with the idea my wife and I got for our expedition
Hopefully I'll see your build soon! It's hard to keep up with videos, but I'm working on it. 😄
Wow, super good job. Looks amazing
Admire your energy!
I am van lifing an F150 right now, however was considering an expedition next. Hope its still fun for you!

Thank you!! Part 3 coming soon 🙂 make sure to tape yours I want to see!!
Just make sure you drive enough or have enough batteries. DC charger better that isolator.
I want to do this!
I am so impressed
Very nice 👌
Just subscribed, about to convert a 2014 expedition. Seeing your teardown was very informative, look forward to your next video.👍
Thank you so much! Hope to see your conversion on RUclips soon 😊
Following and subscribed, i got an explorer which also are loading up, keep the great work hope to see more of the expedition!
Make some videos of your own! I love all inspiration
Happy belated birthday!
Thank you!
INSPIRING!!!
Did mean to say inspiring!! ☺️
Love this!! I want to do the same to my 2004 Expedition, super inspiring! 🤩
Thank you! If you do I'd love to see how it turns out 😊
Nice👍👍

Would the surface be flat if the seats were folded down instead of taken out? What is the length of the area from back door to back of front seats?
I thought the same thing. But the seats take up so much vertical room, and don't lay flat either way. There's a slant, and the middle seat sticks up awkwardly
@@twofoxesontheroad8868 What is the length from inside back door to back of front seats? I can build a platform, but want to know how long it is.
Question: is the front passenger seat coming out and perhaps turned around, in its current location?. Also will there be a third seat in either the driver or passenger rear location? Reason I’m asking is that’s what my thought is at the moment.
Hello! Yes the passenger seat came out in the front and all of the seats in the back came out. Unfortunately that means no passengers 😔

Did it smell toxic in there after you used all those chemicals? I wonder what it would be like on a hot day
After one full day of drying, there was no smell at all. These are the same materials used in houses so they're meant to dry odorless!
Thank you Sam. I have chemical reactivity … so odorless doesn’t help if it’s still toxic. Thank you for your reply and you did an amazing job on your vehicle! Blessings to you and your furry baby with all your new adventures💗
@@twofoxesontheroad8868 How much material did you buy/ use for the subflooring
His is this going Sam?
It's going really well! I have a new video on the bed coming out soon 😊 thanks for asking

Hmm. Why not skip all the fussy floor framing and just cut a piece of 5/8 plywood to fit?
Many reasons: the frame wasn't even so the plywood would move around; the road noise would be awful; the lack of insulation; the rest of the build wouldn't be secure; I'm not going for the thrown-together-in-an-hour look, etc.
