    It is a time of peace in Skyrim. The civil war is long over. The independent Skyrim has made an alliance with the Empire. The Thalmor have been defeated. Alduin the World Eater is long dead. The Companions have enjoyed the leadership of a great warrior. The College of Winterhold had gained more acceptance among the Nords. The Dark Brotherhood remains a thing of fear. And the Thieves Guild flourishes under Nocturnal.
    But today something is amiss. For the hero who brought this about has passed on. The Last Dragonborn is dead. After a long, bountiful life, the Dovahkiin leaves for Sovngarde.
    But before the body is given to the pyre, one woman stands. Lydia, the first of the Dragonborn's many housecarls. She tells the guests that the Dragonborn had taken the time to teach the true Song of the Dragonborn as he heard it in Sovngarde.

      “By his honor is sworn to keep evil at bay” and “Will keep evil at bay” are two very different things.
      Let’s be honest here. Given what Paarthurnax says about dragons’ predispositions, the Dragonborn is most likely an enormous douche at best and a malicious vampire lord who uses childrens’ souls for warm slippers enchantments at worst.
      “By his honor is sworn” doesn’t hold a lot of water for someone like that.

    • @drowningindanile7184
      @drowningindanile7184 3 года назад

      @@QualityPen yeah because dragons are inherently evil pricks

    • @QualityPen
      @QualityPen 3 года назад +6

      @@drowningindanile7184 I can’t tell if that is sarcasm or not. This is what Paarthurnax says. To paraphrase, it is within a dragon’s nature to crave power, and it is wise to distrust dragons. The dragons have been consistently evil throughout history, their reign was founded on the mass slavery of mortals. Alduin is happy munching on human souls in Sovngarde... and Alduin isn’t unique morally among dragons: all others but Paarthurnax followed him and generally viewed mortals as food or pests. Even in Skyrim, every dragon except Paarthurnax is hostile and we see them causing devastation across the region.
      When the Blades ask you to kill Paarthurnax, you can let him know, and he will ask you, “is it better to be born good, or overcome your inner evil through great effort?” The implication he makes is that dragons lust for power to the point of being evil, and the Way of the Voice which he practices is an exercise in tremendous self-restraint.
      I think it’s questionable if the Dragonborn could follow the Way of the Voice. The Grey Beards seem to think that learning to shout too quickly without tempering it with experience and wisdom leads down a dark path... Most players complete Skyrim in just a month or two in-game, and Bethesda didn’t bother to put in seasonal changes. The tempo and mood of the main quest have an inherent urgency to them, also supporting the idea that the events of Skyrim take place over a very short period of time. In Dragonborn, the player faces off against and eventually defeats Miraak, the first dragonborn, who has thousands of years of experience.
      In other words, the Last Dragonborn almost certainly sprinted to power, which is exactly what the Grey Beards warned against.

      +Logan Mainord Akatosh is not part of the Nordic pantheon. It contains Alduin, Shor, Tsun, Kyne, Mara, Ysmir, Orkey, Dibella, and Stuhn. The developers just got lazy and recycled a ton of stuff from oblivion. This is Skyrim, not Cyrodill.

    If Skyrimjoined forces with Hammerfell, the Aldmeri Dominion would fall.

    • @SniperiusForever
      @SniperiusForever 10 лет назад +8

      I am really afraid that everything may be lost now, Skyrim and Cyrodiil destroyed themselfes in the Skyrim civil war, Morrowind is fucked up, Hammerfell is exhausted by the war with Thalmor, High Rock doesnt care and Argonians rather make their plans of the Dunmer extermination than fight Thalmor, maybe the only chance now is that Thalmor collapses from inside because basically a lot of Bosmer Khajiit and sometimes even Altmer basically hate it.

    • @bendavis3778
      @bendavis3778 10 лет назад +5

      SniperiusForever Even if they were weakened, Skyrim and Hammerfell would be capable of attacking the Summerset Isle and destroying the Aldmeri Dominion. The Yukodan navy is more than a match for any navy the Dominion could ever build. Plus you never considered Orsinium. If they Orsimer joined with the Nords of Skyrim and the Redguards of Hammerfell, the Aldmeri Dominion wouldn't have any chance of surviving.

    • @SniperiusForever
      @SniperiusForever 10 лет назад +1

      Well Nords are completely exhausted now it doesnt matter who wins Empire or Skyrim they are both like a piece of cake for the dominion to take now and i have to say that you underestimate Dominon forces too they are quite an army but their weakness is that a lot of their own citizens disagree with what their goverment does so i think that the way to defeat Thalmor is to turn their own people against their governement. In the matter of an actual war no one stand a chance against Thalmor alone they are too powerful .. if i had unlimited options as dragonborn i would solve peacefully Skyrim civil war then gathered everyone who still stands free of Thalmor under one banner and then defeated it.

      +Emre Eronat you see what you want to see, which speaks very bad of your "interpretation". There's no doubt that the song is about the Dohvakiin and all that, but you actually believe that in those time horribly things didn't happen? I'd said terrorist, but let's talk about bandits o some war hostage. And nowhere, in the song, you can see that the hero will arrive. The fact is that, in this things, no interpretation is absolutely wrong

    The rebellion may be small right now, but I'm not hostile to the Empire, nor am I at war with the Stormcloaks. This means I can gain followers from either faction. Once I get a few more supporters I'm going to expand my sphere of influence, and eventually my little rebellion will hunt the Thalmor all over Tamriel.
    I don't attack anyone that don't attack me or my beliefs, which means that as long as the Empire doesn't attack me I won't attack the Empire. It's as simple as that.

    One thing I really love about Skyrim over some of the other Elderscrolls game is the thalmor, High elves have always been my favorite race but there has always been very little to go with outher then speculating on their culture using Ayleids and dunmer as models and the little info we are givin in the other two games, But with the Thalmor leaves very little doubt what their culture is like they are perfect villains. I also hope that their huge part in Skyrim is prelude to TES 6 being Alinor.

    It is never too late. But I do hope that he gets past this... 'Phase', and embraces the Dov.

    A couple of things I wish they could have done for Skyrim was given the player the option to openly wage war against the Thalmor and bring peace to the Empire (I know that the Diplomatic Immunity and Missing in Action missions allow you to openly fight the Thalmor but that's pretty much it, you don't actually wage war with them), they should have also given the player the opportunity to become the HIgh King of Skyrim themselves or even the Emperor of Cyrodil, that would've been awesome!

    One rune, as opposed to nearly every cuneiform character. Also, if dragons can figure out how to speak and use the Voice, I'm sure they're smart enough to figure out how to use just one claw to scratch runes. Runes were designed in such a way so that they could easily be carved onto wood or stone.
