For your information what they have done is not patrode its Gatti /kabdu/mudde, and also patrode is North Indian which came down with Saraswath Brahmin, costal karnataka, Western ghats they have adopted /altered it. In Konkani Pan is leaf and Patra is leaves, Voda actually rolled patra+Vodo =Patrodo, rest say Patrode.
